The Bollywood film industry is developing in terms of experimenting and bringing different concepts. Last year movies like Paan Singh Tomar', Gangs of Wasseypur', Vicky Donor' and Kahani' proved the mark of non-commercial films in Indian cinema turning into big hits.
The beginning of 2013 didn't receive many films, though throughout the year creative approach of filmmakers has been evidently seen through their films.
Ship Of Theseus- Kiran Rao's film. Anand Gandhi, Pankaj Kumar and Khushboo Ranka came up with unpredictable twist with three stories.
Shahid- directed by Hansal Mehta, a biographical projection of a lawyer and human rights activists, Shahid Azmi who was victimized in the assassination in 2010 in Mumbai.
Ghanchakkar- it's a debatable choice as it gained both positive and negative reviews. The attempt of dark comedy, bank robbery, memory loss and unfinished climax managed an average position with its experimenting approach.
Table No.21- the portrayal of ragging in colleges and institutions is a common practice presented the revenge story in a thriller way.
Ek Thi Daayan- Imaginary concepts brought fictional characters to life like childhood stories. With a predictable climax the movie attempt to provide a different story.
The Lunchbox- a progressive story with sweet touch of love and simplicity and bond between strangers over meals delivery service and letter exchange.
Special 26- suspense, thriller, action and romance, it has all the element of commercial movie but managed to pull the different factor slightly with its unusual story-line.
Jolly LLB- the story of again social systems and fight for justice brought by the actors with humour and modern sensible screen projection.
The list continues with Barfi, English Vinglish, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and many more. All of them presenting and highlighting the unique and unconventional concepts, and marking as hit movies is definitely changing the world of Bollywood.
