Sorry I wrote too much and cluttered up the thread, so opened a new topic.
Ok a heart breaking episode I feel just like Jalal my thoughts are going to be all over the place. Please bear with me.
Starting with the first scene. This is the biggest irony of today episode Jodha should have been more abrupt she led him on big time which led to a humiliating heart break for him not just simple plain old heart break but humiliation compounded. I often wondered does Jodha not know that Jalal really really really likes her, maybe love is foreign to her, but like is an emotion she can understand. Any half brained woman would have figured out by now that any man who does and acts like Jalal around you must feel something very deep. Shyamala is bang on Jodha is just plain dense wonder how far apart she is from Javeeda in understanding men. Unfortunately her leading him on is her biggest sin, because she did something that Jalal will never forget or forgive. Alas oh the mother of all ironies when all the times we wanted her to be a little understanding this unfortunately was not one of them.
You know Jalal never truly hated her, I never believed it. He was excited I think that she dared to put a sword on her neck, she was a conquest and he found the chase exciting, all her hatred filled dialogues he did not take on his pride but in good humour, and even when he suspected she could be pregnant by another man he didn't hate her he was upset that someone else had got to his prized possession before he could even in his lowest moment when he confessed to never being so deeply hurt he only wondered why she did this to him but never admitted hating her for having an affair. Now her most apparent kindest action has triggered the one feeling in him for her than even her worst act did not, HATRED. You know why because she did the unthinkable deliberately she made him open up the pandora box a box that he probably would have lived the rest of his life and never opened. She made him bare his feelings and soul, things he never wanted to admit to anyone. But when he fell to the ground I think it hit him like a ton of bricks, not that he was denied physical relations, but when she denied she loved him his mind must have been going oh shit did I just confess all that at that point the humiliation must have felt 1000 times worst than the sword on his neck, did he feel this humiliated when he suspected she carried another man child.
You know I always felt Jalal knows he has a heart a big one at that, he is just pretending otherwise to others. For many of his own reasons maybe declaring openly he is big hearted would make people think he is a weak shehenshah, his eye is on the crown and ruling his empire what does having a heart got to do with that, for him it is a liability. I think it felt like relief for him to finally admit the lie, imagine having to pretend to something for the sake of your position and prestige and when everything in you wants to scream otherwise at times it must be agony. The one lie he is telling others so convincingly but deep down he knows is not true was ripped to shreds by Jodha rebuke. She didn't just go for his jugular she went for his imperial jugular with which his premise of whole kinship has so far been centered. When he openly admits he lost to her, he truly lost that lie, she took that away from him and that is what was on his face in plain fury at having the premise of his existence snatched away so cruelly for no reason. Because he was only going to give up on that lie for a woman who truly loved him, not even Ruq would make him admit otherwise. None of his imaginations had such a moment yesterday, today was all heart.
Shyamala bang on Jodha's use of 'mitr' at the most inappropriate time. This is where expecting the realism of 16th century decorum from these characters is fruitless. I highly doubt any man would have put up with a platonic relationship with a woman during that time, and no ruqaiya does not count their dynamics are different. Forget 16 century even in the 21 century when woman/man use that lets be friends card it is humiliating it is the worst thing to say during a breakup. Infact breakup 101 tells you if you want your former so and so to remain your friend truly if you mean it don't use that word during the break up wait for the dust to settle and wounds to heal. Jalal was down if Jodha didn't understand that at that moment he was at his lowest that using the friend word would further compound his humiliation then I am afraid I can't help but berate her. MA stuck the knife in Jalal heart but Jodha shoved it further in his heart. Ruqaiya is Jalal BFF when a man comes to you so emotional and vulnerable he is not coming to you as a friend, and when she asked him to speak his mind did she not consider he was going to say something that even Ruq had not been privy to, and when she has heard him out she must know a friend would not speak as such and it was the love that he had for her, she should have atleast respected that emotion from his side even if she felt none. I think maybe that is why next day she felt guilty and wanted to apologize. In the end I conclude Jodha doesn't get men or just people in general. I hope our Jalal who was, I stress was, a master at this can make up for this lack of quality in his honar ki khaan.
And for for the first time since the show started he is not able to multi task his mind is not present in the darbar, he has been furious before also distracted but still present right or wrong he still shouts his orders but not today. I think Jalal won't forget easily that she made him bare his soul, with or without the letter he won't be able to forgive her for ripping apart his heart, not until something dramatic happens. Maybe the realization his love trumps her non love will he forgive her, is he that kind of man to give love such prime position its due respect maybe he would have been capable of such an act had those feelings stayed in his heart, but now she has trampled on it. I think being the bigger man is not going to be in him not in his present condition, ball is in Jodha court. We can only guess how he will punish her and how Jodha will have to chase him if at all, he is so love starved that if Jodha takes a u turn will he will be waiting with open arms or will his humiliating rejection overrule even Jodha's earnest feelings whatever they might be. But one thing is for sure nothing short of unbridled love from Jodha side is going to put Jalal on the same friendly terms with her, if she pulls the friend card again I think he might just throw the knife right at her and have it over with lolzzz sorry for the dark comedy.
