Swati listened to him patiently. She agreed to help him and came down to his house in half an hour's time. Anjali was wondering who it was when Shlok came down and introduced Swati to his mother. Anjali asked her to take a seat out of politeness. Swati refused and wanted to go with Shlok immediately.

They walked over to Astha's house. Shlok rang the doorbell. Astha opened the door. She saw both of them and got enraged. "You? Why did you come to my house? And you Shlok? How dare you bring this...this woman in to my house? Are you mad?"

Kalindi rushed forward hearing the commotion. "Astha! first call them in."

"Lekin Ayi..."

"You both come in." Kalindi invited them in.

"Astha. I am Swati. Please don't be angry. I have come to speak to you. I need to be quick. I have a return flight tonight." Astha was confused seeing this woman being friendly. Her name was Swati.

"Can I talk to you alone Astha?"

Astha mutely nodded and went up. Swati followed her upstairs.

Swati spoke first. "Astha, first of all I am so sorry for all the confusion between you and Shlok."

"As you should be." Astha's voice was filled with hatred.

"No. Hear me out first. I am not sure whether Shlok has told you about me. I am his ex-girl friend. We were going around while he was in the US."

Astha's jealousy increased many fold times. So she is the ex. God! Why did she have to look so beautiful and be so charming?

Swati, oblivious to Astha's thoughts, continued "We had a relationship for over three years and it was good while it lasted. We broke up as friends and I moved on. Shlok came back to India. I started having problems with the current boyfriend after Shlok. Day by day I started missing Shlok more and wanted to get back to him. I realized I had done a grave mistake by breaking off with him. That is the reason I came to India. To get back to Shlok."

"What?" Astha asked the question in shock. She could not even think of sharing her Shlok with anyone else. Never.

"But after coming here and seeing Shlok, I realized he had moved on in the true sense. He is a changed person as I see today. Much happier. When you saw us, I was just saying my good bye to my love, to my past, to Shlok. It was a farewell kiss Astha. Nothing more and nothing less."

And do you know something else? Not once during our conversation Shlok attempted to come near me or touch me. You truly have stolen his heart Astha. Don't let go of your love. Take care."

Astha was still in shock. After Swati went down, Shlok came up to the room. Astha was sitting in the bed while Shlok stood by her doorway. Astha's lips trembled and her eyes welled up seeing Shlok. She missed him, missed his presence, his unique scent, his touch, everything.

Shlok was mesmerized seeing her sitting on the bed. She looked so beautiful even while crying. He took a step forward "Astha!"
