2013 Monthly Business Breakdown

Below is the monthly breakdown of the business that all the films released in that month have done. August saw a new record created for monthly business. The release count is in brackets.

January - 160 crore (17)

February - 202 crore (13)

March - 150 crore (15)

April - 192 crore (18)

May - 301 crore (17)

June - 159 crore (12)

July - 213 crore (16)

August - 375 crore (18)

September - 220 crore (17)

October - 124 crore (17)

November - 361 crore (11)

TOTAL - 2457 crore (171)

The equivalent for 11 months in 2012 was 2170 crore while in 2011 it was 1535 crore.

So my prediction that August 2013 WILL remain the record month came true. Always a SRK film in record months. 😉

August business is higher than November (Krrish3 + Ramleela +GTPM+SSTG)

that shows CE still tops on Box Office Record😉

2013 wasn't such a bad year for Bollywood business-wise, also the first half of 2013 wasn't as dull as those of previous years. The success of films like YJHD, Aashiqui 2, Fukrey, Ranjhanaa, Jolly LLB and Race 2 ensured a bright start to 2013. (first half of the year)

Now for the unexpected flops. 😆 Besharam, OUATIMD, Himmatwala, GTPM and Boss come to mind. Producers and directors need to get their act together and start making better films!

So many surprise hits this year - Aashiqui 2, Fukrey, BMB, Ram Leela. Absolutely delighted!

Roshan and Khans have competition now, from Ranbir Kapoor. 😛
