Why does no one care when everyday folk go to jail but when a superstar has criminal charges against them, everyone throws a hissy fit?

Do everyday folk go to jail for accidents? Or for poaching? Or for not paying taxes?

I personally know two 'everyday follks' who did not face much trouble even after causing accident -

in one case, one person died and though there had been a case, the driver ( who, let me tell you is no one from rich background but only a lower middle class person ) is leading his life normally

in another case, even a legal case has not been registered because no one died and the girl who was driving the car gave money to the victim for treatment

I am not condoning Salman's act but this statement that everyday folks get punishment while celebrities get away easily do not hold true today.

When media is constantly glaring on the lives of the celebrities, it is difficult for them to get away. It is the everyday folks, specially if they have money, tend to get away very easily in this type of cases like accident, etc.
