I would also like to add, Rehaan is Arnav/Barun Sobti, and Suhana is Khushi/Sanaya Irani.

PART 7

Zoya was still in shock, she had seen him after such a long time. She was in awe of how beautiful he was, yet sad because she could see he was tired. He had a line of dark circles around his eyes, had a beard but his hair was shorter than the last time she saw him. It was more like the time when they were looking for the shooter together. She couldn't remove his face from her mind while she was walking with Rehaan. She was fighting the urge to go run upto him and hug him. She wanted to apologize for not going along with him, but she knew that she would only hurt him further if she went back to him. She hoped that he would at least ask her how she was, but that thought itself made her a little uncomfortable. People say, that when you're away from someone your love grows further, and in her case it was true. Today, if someone asked her to give her life for Asad Ahmed Khan, she readily give her life up without even blinking. She wanted to be with him, all these thoughts were still in her mind when Rehaan bought her to Phoopi's room, and she saw him again. His gaze pierced through her eyes, so she looked away; when she looked up she was facing his retreating figure.

While Zoya was speaking to Phoopi, she signalled Rehaan, he understood and left. Rehaan had been searching the house daily, a room per day trying to find some clues about this case. Today he was going to be searching Razia and Gaffur Siddique's room, he was tensed but he needed to take a look. Without a second thought, he walked in and started the search. He found a golden package in a locked drawer of the almirah, and opened it to find the pictures Razia took of Rashid Khan lighting the place on fire. He looked at the negatives of the photos too, he decided that he'd take the negatives and leave the pictures there. He put everything back in place as he was about to walk out, he heard someone walking to the room. He jumped out the window and held onto the ledge, hoping no one was in the garden. His luck was with him as Zoya was standing by the door waiting for him, when she heard the noise she walked up to the window, shook her head at the sight of her brother hanging off the ledge. "JUMP," she whispered, and he did.

They went home and he told her about the pictures, "This tells us that he was set up, otherwise why would they have to take the pictures? Anyway, we'll go develop the photos tomorrow, and the medical examiners did say they'd report back on the body by tomorrow morning. The examiner also said that the skeleton was of a woman, aur wo pehle marigayi thi, phir jalaigayi thi," Zoya told Rehaan. "Okay Farooqui, tu ab us company ki latest deals check kar, aur haan see if they have a connection to Dilshad Construction group, I know it's a big company and messing with them would be hard but still just see if there's any gliches and stuff. Considering that this all revolves around these two families maybe the missing person is related to them? Anyway I'll call the head office tonight and inform them about the progress," replied Rehaan, he continued in a nicer tone this time, "So..princess, khaane mein kya karna hai? Aur aaj toh mein raat ko yahaan par hi rahunga, no ifs and buts. By the way..Suhana was asking for you, when I call her tonight, you should speak to her, she misses you." "Okay," Zoya said while pressing her lips together, "And Khanaa.." "Yahaan hai!" exclaimed Appi and Jeeju from the apartment's entrance. "OMG, APPI JEEJU!" Zoya ran and hugged them, she hugged Appi carefully considering her very pregnant belly. They all ate home food, got caught up with Zoya's life in Paris, and fell asleep in the living room.

Next day, Zoya entered the Siddique mansion along with Rehaan, as she had promised her Phoopi that she would join them all for breakfast and meet everyone too. "Assalaam Walikum Everyone!" Rehaan practically shouted, announcing their arrival. Everyone was so delighted to finally meet and speak to Zoya, except Asad he stood in the corner watching all this take place, still wondering what went wrong. After learning about everyone's lives, they all asked Zoya where she had been all these years. She looked a little uncomfortable but then she said, "I've been in Paris." Everyone looked a little taken back, "Paris?" Ayaan asked, "Hmm, I went to New York, like I told you I would, and then.." "Wait you came to New York?" Asad asked, a little loudly than he had expected, "If you came to New York why didn't I see you?" Rehaan at this point looked at Zoya with a confused expression, "Zee..what the hell?" Zoya looked down, hoping that she didn't break down. "I did come to New York to come to see you Mr. Khan but then I decided otherwise, and moved to Paris. I now work for Apple Inc. as one of their IT managers and I'm here to complete a deal for them." Zoya explained it all in one breath and looked up trying to smile. Asad looked confused but what confused him more was Rehaan. Rehaan stood up, he looked mad turned towards Zoya "you didn't even meet him?" he asked in a menacingly low tone. Zoya didn't meet his eyes, and shook her head slowly hoping he wouldn't lash out on her.

As expected Rehaan was pissed, "So.. all those years ago, when you, when you.. YOU HADN'T EVEN SEEN HIM?!" he saw Zoya stand up and trying to walk away, "DON'T YOU DARE WALK AWAY FROM ME FAROOQUI." Zoya stopped, but didn't dare meet his eyes. "EXPLAIN. NOW." Rehaan screamed. At this point everyone else was on their feet and confused as hell, Asad went close to Zoya, "What is going on Zoya? What is Rehaan talking abou..." "You stay out of this, Asad Ahmed Khan, this is between Zoya and I," Rehaan said with gritted teeth, trying to stay calm at this point. "Zoya," she didn't look up instead was crying silently, Rehaan walked upto her and said, "Zoya, answer me damn it. If you didn't meet him then what the hell happened?!?" At this point he shook Zoya by the shoulders, everyone else looked terrified of Rehaan as his anger looked exactly, if not worse, like Asad Ahmed Khan's anger.

Asad stepped to stop him, but Rehaan looked at him with a menacing look, daring him to take another step. So Asad stood where he was. At this moment, Zoya slumped down on the floor by Rehaan's knees, Rehaan took a deep breath and went down to gather her in his arms. He picked her up, made her sit on a chair, and drink some water. He held her hands, and asked quietly, "Zoya, please, tell me, kya huwa tha? If you didn't meet Asad, then how did you..? When did he say all those things to you?" Asad now thoroughly confused, what things? What did I say? "Do you even know what I went through when I saw you ...? I still get nightmares that one day, when I enter your apartment again, I'll..I'll find you like that?" find her like what? Rehaan now had tears running down his cheeks, "Kyun Zoya? Kya baat thi? Why aren't you telling me? What is it that you're hiding princess?" When Zoya didn't answer, Rehaan began to lose it again. "Zoya. Answer me," Still nothing, "Farooqui, you swore."

Okay, what is with these two and their promises. Ye kya ho raha hai Allah Miya. But hearing those words, Zoya gasped and looked up at Rehaan, she took a deep breath and said, "When...when I went.. t..to New York, I..went to see him.." "okay, and then?" "I went to our starbucks..." "the one by 91^st?" Zoya nodded, Asad seemed to remember the starbucks too, he was trying to remember now. "And..I heard..I heard him speak to R..Rab..Ayaan" Rehaan squeezed her hands, trying to get her to continue. But before she could say anything else, "So that day, when I felt you there, you were actually there?" realization dawned on Asad, as he remembered feeling like she was there. Zoya nodded a little, and continued saying how she heard their conversation. Asad started cursing himself, but asked "why didn't you come up to me? I could've explained why I.. I was just mad at.." but he was interuppted by Rehaan who heard Asad's side realizing that Asad might've said those things in anger or frustration. At this point he was mad, he was beyond pissed at his sister's stupidity, was she really that weak? He thought, and said "So..basically, you didn't meet him, and you just assumed..." Rehaan took another deep breath trying to calm himself but he couldn't at this time, he stood up turned and said, "Zoya all this time, are you telling me that..you..you..YOU TRIED TO F**KING KILL YOURSELF BECAUSE YOU F**KING ASSUMED THIS SHIT?!" he screamed the last part. Everybody gasped, and Asad felt his heart drop.

She tried to WHAT?! Asad felt his chest constrict again and he couldn't breathe, that same old feeling came back to him. Flashes of a lifeless Zoya from Mangalpur came to his mind as he let out a scream, "ZOYA" before his vision started to get blurry, the last thing he saw was Zoya running to him as he fainted, again.
