Shahid on a low, once more?
Even though R...Rajkumar' is having decent box-office collections, it's not helping the actor much
Despite Shahid Kapoor's recent outing with Sonakshi Sinha -R...Rajkumar' that has managed a net weekend collection of Rs 30.59 crore, his hard work in reviving his solo lead onscreen image doesn't seem to be working to his advantage.
Rumour has it that filmmakers have started to lose faith in him and the producers of his next - Haider' are contemplating to drop him even though the first schedule of the film is completed. But Shahid doesn't want to leave the project midway and reportedly the actor hasn't charged for the film. If the movie does a good job, then Shahid will benefit from the profit made and will have a stake of 33%.
Nevertheless the actor can reap the benefits of his present film R...Rajkumar' which has had a world-wide box-office collection of Rs. 45.77 crore. Speaking on the film opening, Nandu Ahuja, Sr. VP, India theatrical, Eros International Media Limited in a statement said, "With its mass appeal, chart buster songs and high octave action, R...Rajkumar' made for a perfect commercial entertainer and has received a big thumbs up from the junta'. A large chunk of revenue has come from mass dominated circuits with single screens and multiplexes packed to capacity. We are looking to end the week with positive momentum."
