KAVITA SHYAM
Come April and popular Balaji soap Kasamh Se will take a five-
year leap. Needless to say, the central characters on the show will
grow older — Prachi Desai (Bani) and Roshni Chopra (Piya) will be
seen playing mothers to five-year-olds. The show will also mark the
entry of additional characters, which will ensure a few parallel
tracks.
Presently, the production house is working on the new look of the
characters with in-house stylist Nim Sood (popularly known as Masi)
calling the shots. However, leading lady Prachi is not quite excited
about raising children on the show. "I do not want to age and play a
mother so soon. I would rather play with the kids than mother them,"
she says. The 18-year-old actress further adds that it's going to be
a big challenge for her. "I am sure it will be a challenge to play a
mom at the age of 18. I am looking forward to the changes in the
track next month," she says.
Creative heads at Balaji inform that the real work begins this
weekend. "We start working on the Kasamh Se leap from this weekend.
It will be the five-year leap that happened in Karam Apna Apna,
recently," says Nivedita Basu, senior creative director
