I dont think this problem is divorce worthy. After all Alok did not cheat her maliciously for another
Woman or he is a unpardanable criminal or abusive man. iMO only the above mentioned wrongs
Should warant a marriage break up.or if both are not compatible at all. But they lived happily for
30 years. Alok really loved Ira. Even this betrayal is out of genuine love how ever wrong it may
Have been. Yes Ira needs to put up a wild drama and hit the ceiling to make him understand how
he took matters into his own hands. But this big mistake was done out of love. So ira should not
Divorce him. If she divorces, what is left for her? It is not like a big kingdom is wIting for her to take
Over. She should reconcile at least for Sanchi's sake. Shiv will be alright. But Sanchi will suffer.
As a mother she should think of her.

Divorce between an older couple has rarely been shown after 90s in Indian TV serials.

I don't think Ira will divorce Alok. She'll only use this to create further drama, throw her weight around the house and make everyone considerate to her fragile "main seh nahi paungi" condition.

Love or whatever, the family's been dancing around her so why'll she let go of her kingdom?

Ira can at best go to maika for some time only to come back like she did last time, and return to throwing her weight around.

She'll make everyone pay for rest of their lifetimes for hiding this truth from her, use it for EB and gaining extra attention and self importance.

This story reminds me of one old movie I had seen in India many many yrs ago.

I think the woman (Tobu) had cheated on her businessman husband and had an affair with her music teacher, Mohnish Behl, from whom she gets a son... Music teacher dies after 25 yrs making Tobu and her son the inheritors of his property. It was then that poor husband's eyes open and he realises that his son whom he had raised as his own was not his son, and eventually he divorces his wife. It was a nice movie (cant remember the name)

But that was a cheating case. I dont think here Alok cheated on Ira for her to divorce him.

Nope - divorce wud be letting Alok off the hook too easy. 😆
She will deny him the room and the bed and glare at him and be snide and basically make him truly miserable and sorry that he continued this lie for 30 years. I think he deserves atleast 30 days minimum - of pure torture - itna to banta hai !!

Alok did do wrong. He cheated two women and his own brother. He also chose to keep his dad in the dark - which was totally reprehensible and he denied Mahi an elder brother when Mahi lost his dad. Let Ira be as nasty as she pleases to Alok - he deserves all that and more.
-------------------
After this long a relationship - it is not that easy to end it all in one shot.
Ira has loved Alok for 30+ years. And if Alok has lied - he has also beeb super caring in lots of other ways and manners over all this time. A divorce won't solve anything.

What will help is time - and genuine heartfelt apology and behaviour that shows he means it and understands her pain and is very sorry for it.

I would prefer Ira-Sanchi divorce, with Alok it will be husband-wife tiff because what Alok did cannot be forgiven easily, but then 37 years of relationship cannot break because of this.

How long can Ira maintain this bitterness. ? She is not going to be happy herself being mad at some
One 24/7. This is th time the saying "for happiness in life ,learn to forgive" rings real loud.
