ok you guys i am not indian, i am pakistani. i'll admit that right off the bat. (no pun intended). i saw news on zee tv today and heard the media just rip into the indian team and the coach. like honestly it wud seem that the indian team lost on purpose or something. the public is so angry that they are burning effigies and throwing shoes at the pictures of the players. isnt that a little harsh. they tried. they honestly tried their best. sometimes people lose due to luck. it doesnt mean they wanted to lose or they didnt give it their all. today south africa lost to australia and their loss was so respectable because they gave it their all and fought till the bitter end. indian cricketers love cricket. they live and die for cricket. all of india does and everyone knows that they didnt lose on purpose they wud have done whatever they could to win. it just wasnt meant. so to blame them or to hate them or wish them harm is too harsh. yes they messed up but they tried, cant we respect that and let it go.

and before someone attacks me, i said the same thing about ireland and pakistan. i said that we shouldn't blame pakistan because they did try. its not that our team wanted to lose sometimes no matter what u do u cant win. so u r happy because they tried, and u r proud of them for getting as far as they did and for playing as well as they did. we cant win all the time and fate plays a gigantic part in victory.

i just feel that the treatment the indian team is receiving is too harsh. people prayed for the cricketers and died for them and now they are willing to kill them. i would understand if the cricketers had done something on purpose but they didnt and i wud think everyone should be proud of the indian team. they always do well.they are a good team, it was just fate.

good to see u back mkzara😊 & I completely agree with you. These people make me understand the origin of the word FANS from fanatics. I neither support the excessive worship prior tomatch / proceeding victory, nor do I support such disgraceful behaviour a following a lost match.

I think the public reaction thing is largly overblown by the media for TRP ratings, almost all of my friends are Cricket fans as are most of Indians. I have not seen any extreme reaction on roads of Delhi, yes people are angry with the team but I don't think anyone wants to physically harm them. You're bound to have some fanatics in every sport but unfortunately in India News Channels glorify them, they constantly broadcast those videos. I don't think they are Cricket Fans infact, I know it may sound crazy but sometimes it seems that sometimes media organises such things or they try to instigate such things.

As I told you QT, the students of our college had the best policy. They simply cut the cable wire after the 6th wicket fell, so that even if someone wants to watch the horrible ending they won't be able to. No, abuse nothing completely ignoring the whole incident as if nothing happened and going off to sleep.😆

Veri true.. Infact the news channel might be following these trouble makers and as a result giving an impression that whole of india is going to hurt these players when they return.. Yes everybody is upset.. but most from the city just dont care....

Totally agree with you, the media blows everything out of proportion. Its just a game, all this hysteria about a game of bat and ball..so damn silly! I actually feel sorry for the players, to be bashed and criticized so heartlessly, I almost forgive them for not playing well.
If I start criticizing the stupidity of our so called news channels( which I doubt are run by Ekta Kapoor),I'll never stop.

Cricket in subcontinent is a religion 😃. That is the only thing which keeps all four countries united. Almost all of us speak the language of Cricket.

Here I would agree with Solidsnake about our Indian media feigning on India as well as Pakistan public's rage on our team's failure. There is no doubt that people are mad in both countries. Effigies were burnt and pictures of cricketers were painted in black. Some incidents like attack on Dhoni's house were distasteful. But other than that I agree with the anger to some extend but don't support violence of any sort. These cricketers are almost equated to the level of god when they win matches and they enjoy that. So they should be ready to take on all criticism coming their way. This is the same public which bursts crackers, party and celebrates when India wins so should the anguish be questioned?

Cricket is a sport but a world cup series is pride for any nation and not a mere game. Expectations were high and this team didn't even try. If a team tries their level best and yet gets defeated, we can understand. The body language of our players didn't show any such effort. This bunch proved that Indian cricket team is the most overrated in the world.

I am all with the anger. They really played as they cared two hoots for our Feelings.

Im all for The media ripping apart the Team.Especially Dravid and chappel who did not even Tender a apology To 1 billion people and fooled us for two years with the so called 'process' of turning a team capable of threatening the champion into one which feels happy over a win over a 'whatsthatteam' 😆

But yes Im all agiainst this burning of posters. We Indians always overdo it!!
Its not that we lost and we can never be good losers. Its the manner we lost!!

Amen to that. We have no fighting spirit. The team was lacking that passion. I love the sport and India losing is NOT going to stop we watching the world cup.

I was asking myself.. what if BER defeated BAN, would I be happy that IND made it to the next round and my answer to myself was NO!!! The way we played the two matches with SL and BAN.. we do not deserve to go the next round. Such inconsistenceny is not expected from a team that was the finalist last time and has been playing cricket for ages. Its a pity to see the amount of adulation that is given to the cricketers. The sport as become so commercialized that one does not see the passion for the game anymore.
