Niccola M...and here ..take a bow..Ashwini Kalsekar...u absolutely breathe life into this historical figure👏...is setting herself up for a spectacular fall from the pedestal of affection, power and respect, upon which she was ..sadly..placed by her Colostral Son...the one whose brain cells have begun to tick tock in overdrive...and he now wants to shake himself free of the yoke of others and be his own person..FireBrand Volcano is the catalyst...yes...but this desire was present from within...for said reaction to occur...because a catalyst only facilitates a reaction process...it does not cause it..

People...in power..who think of themselves in absolutes...and Niccola falls prey to this too...she after all pretty much ran the Empire...her decisions were his..and he usually rubber stamped ...sorry...wax-melted and imperial-sealed...her diktats as his... live behind this sense of pseudo-invincibility,a feeling a sense of being beyond reproach...Rex, after all, has given her the power to run amok and bestowed umpteen forgivings of transgressions ...and she thrives under this misconception that her egregious behaviour, manipulations, shenanigans are beyond the scope of his vision...or will be perpetually overlooked..as has been ad praeteritum..

But absolutes also have limits, a baseline or an Absolute 0, as it were...Her chief error is in underestimating Rex...who has a mind of his own...and has desired to use it..
It begins small..and then he totally bucks the trend...HE picks HER...in desire...in lust..calling it whatever...but it happens...and in the process..accedes to her wishes...claims her as his...calling it whatever...becomes obsessed with her..calling it whatever...rushes to accuse and injure her as a sop to his damaged pride...in the gaffe of the decade..and then proceeds to make amends...calling it whatever..and is drawn to her repeatedly...not just physically..(duh!)..but mentally and now emotionally..and he is getting an inkling of what to call it...

Niccola is rightfully wary of Damsel...she unlike the other no-wits in the Imperial Harem,has a mind if her own..and does not hesitate to let Bull know it...post the entire SOOSIDE debacle...Thinking bull ( pardon the pun)... even begins to acknowledge the same boat condition that he and his FireBrand spouse are in...the forged link begins to strengthen...

and then comes that single introspective moment..when Detective bull goes on a fact finding mission...in that wake me up, is it over yet??...miscarriage fiasco...the spur is that his fireBrand spouse is repeatedly accusing his BigMomma...and FireBrand has somehow started becoming unimpeachable to him..so wherein lies the truth?

Niccola rightly picks these moments as those of changes in the Mughal Ozone levels...but in true hubristic terms becomes obliviated to the changes in the geography of the emotional landscape of Rex..wherein now Damsel...who occupied a red and fire hue...still has that...but now acquires many other colours...and a growing by the day portion of the picture..

In her obliviated state, she is picking the clues...but not connecting the lines of how Rex is changing...Damsel does the catalyst thing again...she compels Rex out of his distantly benevolent Imperio mantle...and into one who is in tune with the day to day life and grievances of his subjects...She facilitates this process ..yes...but the desire to do this was extant in Rex...imagine trying to do this with Bandicoot... If there ever was an example of arid soil..

Rex has the bit of change between his teeth...and he chooses to run with it...because he is the rarest of the rare...the few who recognize that with Awesome powers come Awesome responsibilities...and he...the REX IMPERIO ...is first among equals..

This...this singularity...distinguishes...good ..from great...and great from great souls..
