Yes Boss: Part 15

"Mr Khan! Ab toh meri baat sun lijiye! The whole trip back you were busy yakking on the phone with Miss Narges. So much for raaste mein baat karte hai," Zoya grumbled, as she sat down at the dining table next to Asad, as they waited for Dilshaad and Najma before starting on dinner. Asad rearranged the napkin next to his plate before turning to her.

"Miss Farooqui, pehle toh the trip was barely ten minutes long because the office is so nearby. And secondly, I was just confirming with Miss Narges about the model-viewing session on Tuesday since her mother is flying off the next day. Isme itna jealous hone ki koi baat nahi hai," Asad said matter-of-factly, earning a loud gasp from Zoya.

"I'm not jealous of Miss Narges alright?!" Zoya hissed, outraged at his allegation, just as Najma and Dilshaad arrived at the table. Najma scrambled for the seat next to Zoya, sitting down excitedly as she caught the end of their conversation.

"Miss Narges?? Bhaijaan, isn't she the nice lady you designed a house for some time last year? I remember her coming to the house once too, to discuss some details with you. Remember Ammi? Then we all had tea together after both of you were done with the discussion in your room," Najma added in absentmindedly, as Dilshaad smiled and nodded in agreement. Zoya's eyes widened. They had a private discussion in Asad's bedroom?!

"Ji Najma, it is that nice lady! Now we're doing a much bigger project for her, a mall, so I'm sure you'll see her around eventually. I'll let her know you remember her! Ammi aap jaanti hai, she's building this mall in honour of her mother, Mrs Rubina K Fakhri, so that's why she's naming it RK Mall," Asad informed his mother, to which Dilshaad raised an eyebrow and nodded approvingly.

"Wow, she's such a loving daughter! And she's such a kind and successful young woman too," Dilshaad praised, evidently awestruck. Zoya found herself burning insanely from the inside, for reasons she simply couldn't place. She decided to change the subject instead.

"Yes, yes, she's lovely and all. Phuphi, Najma, aap jaante hai, Mr Khan gave me a new position in the office. I'm head of the technical department! Okay, I'm technically co-heads with that Vijay... But anyway, do you know why Mr Khan gave me that position? Because..." Zoya interjected, hoping to tell them about her wonderful program that clinched the mall project. But Najma cut her off in the middle.

"Vijay?! You mean that strange fellow?? You know what Zoya, there was once I was having some problems with my laptop, so Bhaijaan brought me to the office to meet Vijay. Well he did fix my laptop for me, but you know after I'd explained to him what the problem was, he refused to say anything to me or even look at me! Ajeeb aadmi hai yaar, kasamh se," Najma complained, making Zoya feel suddenly relieved. She turned to Asad, nodding enthusiastically.

"This is exactly what I wanted to talk to you about Mr Khan! Woh Vijay kitna ajeeb hai! He doesn't speak to me either, and I'm supposed to be working with him. Aise kaise chalega?" Zoya whined, pouting a little as she broke off a piece of her roti and stuffed it in her mouth. Asad stared at her for a while, his eyes a little dazed as he fell into deep thought.

"You know Miss Farooqui, mujhe lagta hai woh bichara shayad baat karne ki bohut kosish karta hoga, but you most likely never leave him any opportunity to! So mera suggestion yeh hai, that on Monday, you try to stay quiet for at least two minutes, and then maybe you'll be able to hear him speak. How's the poor guy going to be heard over the commotion you're constantly making?" Asad suggested sweetly, as he wiped his face with his napkin, hiding his grin. He placed the napkin on his plate as he got up, his meal complete.

"MR KHAN?! That's no funny! And I have something else to speak to you about!" Zoya insisted, as she got up from her own seat, trying to stop him from leaving. Asad stopped and turned around for a short while, before turning back and continuing his walk back to his room.

"Poora weekend para hai Miss Farooqui, at least Friday night ke liye aapke aawaaz se baksh do!" Asad finally added, slamming his door shut after entering his room, leaving Zoya to fume silently again. And to think the people at work thought she was in a relationship with this highly infuriating man. Never!
