PART 44 A

Pampered by the whole family on her birthday she never felt this much elated in her life. There was no difference in the degree of affection she received from her own parents and inlaws. To add more sweetness to her celebration Sashi and family came over to Raizada mansion to join them. The preparations were full on when Garima and Madhumati entered the kitchen with the Raizada ladies for the grand feast. Khushi had invited all her friends and Abhay with Arnav's colleagues were also present. It was indeed a surprise to her when she she hadn't expected anyone to think about her birthday when there was a marriage happening at the next house and her marriage rituals being just over.

She was distributing the juice to the men of the house that's where she noticed her Arnavji was missing from the gang. The memories of their last night dance, his surprise how he wished with a surprise gift at 12 Midnight,the blissful intimate moment they were trying to embark into and the timing of distruption to their moment brought back the infamous blush on her cheeks.

"Bhabhi.. I have taken my juice. Do you want me to take the next one and fill my stomach with juice for your birthday instead of allowing me to relish the grand birthday feast?"Akash teased Khushi who had bend with the tray of Juice to serve him when he saw that his bhabhi was on the same position even after he took his glass.

Khushi got embarrassed as the gents started laughing and she straightened up to serve others.

"Where is Arnav bitwa? I didn't see him after he welcomed me". Sashi enquired others who was mentally thanked by his daughter as she too was apprehensive of his absence since midnight..As soon as they opened the door at midnight she was all in the hands of his family who had wished her and blessed her. She was totally occupied with the family that she had slept with Lavanya and other girls after chit chatting.She didn't even get time to search for him or to see if he had his breakfast or not. It was a pain to not see him even though he was in the same house. Normally he would have come behind her but it looked as if he was also occupied with something since morning. If she had asked about him openly then she wouldn't have to spend the rest of the day without their tease.

"He is working in his room Sashiji.. Poor guy has been haunted by official calls from the morning" Mamaji sighed as he wasn't used to this silent phase of Arnav at home. His presence is supposed to spread vibrance but looking at him plunged in his office work did make everyone disappointed.

Khushi was very much eager to escape from there to reach the room than anyone else. How can he leave behind her and his family to give more importance to work when he was on vacation. As she slowly moved away from them towards her room Akash nudged Shyam who was concentrating on his juice.

"I am sure aaj Bhai is gonna get the real lesson of marriage today. Looking at the frown on bhabhi's face Bhai have to woo her lot to bring back the smile."

Khushi opened the door in anger and saw her husband dressed in his pants and vest sitting on the bed with his laptop on talking to someone through an audio call.

"Jeff... I have already mailed you the final details. Don't try to amend any thing beyond this. It requires hell lot of time to rework on it Jeff. Understand that first. By the time you would have crossed the deadline." He snorted with a frown to remove this unending frustration from his colleague to change intricate details of his long worked project. He knew the effort and time he had put in day and night for the project and his superiors get apprehensions and doubts in no time without considering the efforts of his team.

Khushi started to get worried seeing his anger as she hardly had confronted with this face of his. May be it was better if she give him some time and space to cool down she thought. But the responsible wife instinct in her popped up in recognizing her correct approach to such a situation. She climbed their cot gulping her developing fear and moved behind him.

He sighed in irritation and continued. "Jeff. Do whatever you want.. Just don't call me again.One last time I am warning you this is not a feasible solution. Just think of the repercussions before taking a chance and I will try calling Mike today, I cant just stop myself in defending my own team who had worked out this day and night.. Bye". He hung up the call and threw the mobile on the near by couch in anger. His creases on the forehead slowly released as he sensed someone snaking arms on his shoulder from behind.

She slowly leaned on his shoulder pressing her form at his back and he closed his eyes with a gasp. She rested her chin on his shoulder touching her cheeks with his and he held arms that was wrapping his neck around. He felt himself getting calm with that cute gesture. She tried to analyze if he was still in sober mode by looking into his closed eyes and scrunching eyebrows.

"Are you still angry? Why do you get stressed up so much?" She asks him in bewilderment and he lets out a big sigh still closing his eyes. She feels his exhaustion and helps him by massaging his temple slowly. A small smile curves on his lips for her silent understanding.

"I thought you forgot about me Birthday baby.. I never expected to meet you once today since you were totally equipped with others" He teased her as she continued massaging his forehead.

"Haww.. how can I stay away from you Arnavji? Do you know how impatient I was not able to see you down since early morning?" It hurt her little which evoked tears in her eyes.

Arnav could sense it and he took her hands pushing her behind. She fell on the bed with her head leaning on the head rest while he leaned his back on her with his head on her chest. She felt a bliss when he felt solace in her arms like that. She wrapped her arms around his neck and taking her fingers in caressing his hair slowly.

"Khushi.. We have to plan our schedule Khushi. I can't be staying her for more than one month. So I have asked my friend to speeded up the process on our certificate and I need to apply for the visa.. Shall I take you with me to US? I can't just stay without you anymore baby" Khushi took her head which was resting in his in surprise to hear about his plan. She couldn't understand the situation. She was in splits when she had the thought of going from Lucknow. Now another tug when she heard about Arnav's travel plans. She felt like strangled in between the family and Arnav making it difficult for her to decide at the moment.

Arnav felt the hot tears falling on his cheeks making him get up from her in a giffy to check her.

"Khushi.. I am sorry... I dint mean to hurt you.. don't cry. Today is your birthday."He tried to console her by taking her in his arms caressing her hair.

She sobbed a little which came to a stop and she looked at him with confusion.

"Arnavji.. I want to stay with family for some more time.. but .. but I cant get separated from you too." She pleaded like a kid while Arnav brushed his thumb wiping off the tears.

"Okay.. Never mind.. Don't think about that now. We shall find a solution for that.. we have some time. I am ok with what you decide.. If you want to stay for some time with family I am fine. I shall go and come back to take you, ok?" He said it with an ease that made her smile at the next instant for considering and caring her wishes so much.

By the time Arnav was about to grace her lips with his he heard a knock interrupting their urgent and needed kiss. He groaned in frustration as this has become a routine to get stopped in the middle.He soon pecked her lips shocking her.

"I think I should get you alone when I take you with me.. There all your time is mine exclusively"

She chuckled at the desperation of Arnavji who wasn't much happy in getting disturbed now and then. They got up and moved towards the hall to meet the family who were waitng for the couple to join them.

The day passed by with the grand feast followed by a small party within the family as per Arnav's wish. The family had rejoiced to the maximum extent making them surprise when they saw Arnav and NK bonding very affectionate. NK himself was shocked to find out how Khushi's family treated him like a son of the family except Lavanya and her mother. Lavanya had the awkwardness in meeting his eyes made sure that she wasn't near his vicinity. He could understand her plight too. There was nothing wrong in her gesture but it was his duty to apologise to her though she won't expect one from him.

Lavanya was passing through the corridor with Misha, NK was standing near by talking on his mobile when he saw her cancelled the call. Lavanya didn't mind to turn his side but his voice stopped her in tracks.

"Lavanya one minute. Please.. One minute"

She didn't turn her face towards him neither did she allow Misha to go from there. NK understood her reservations in talking to him especially after what had happened because of him in their life. She didn't mean to extend this to any extend but wasn't ready to accept the fact of her betrayal. Nevertheless all she was focused was her own freedom closure from this mishap and the happiness of her bhai and bhabhi. NK was stumbling for words as it made him more difficult to handle the situation for his own control. He had no right or a worth that deserves her apology but his own satisfaction needed some grip which could be provided only when he gets an assurance that Lavanya wasn't affected of her future by his acts.

"Sorry Lavanya.. I know these simple words are not reasonable enough to get an apology. Least it happens in life when we skip a moment of apology which had been pending for a long time and I had to repent the fact that I leisurely skipped it out of shame and hesitation. Though I don't deserve one I would want to seek my sincere apology and.."

"NK please.. enough .. Look at the happy couple over there. They don't deserve any punishment because of you or me. They are meant to live their life contended and satisfied forever. Committing a mistake and repenting for the rest of our life might be the only solution you might have come up with but I have decided to throw the past dirt from my life and move on to live as a little matured girl in my life. I hope you to continue to move on instead of wailing over these thoughts that might affect our siblings. They don't deserve a tinge of crack in their happiness because of us. Lets remain in the chain of relations between bhai and bhabhi. Nothing more nothing less. I hope you behave normal henceforth and continue in succeeding life. All the best "Lavanya blurted out in one go with a short of breath not meeting his eyes making him realize the next step of his blunder to get avoided from her path. She didn't want him to repent over this fact and face her with the remorse that might bring up the past sourful memories to her thoughts.

NK passed a weak smile understanding her matured thinking. She was right. Instead of him wailing over the guilt showing off to her or anyone else it was time to think of his own parents and life as she suggested. This might give her a sort of peace which would make both of them concentrate on their own wishes and life rather than digging over their not to be existent memories.

"Thanks Lavanya.. I have got what you said.. True words. Jeejaji had helped me to procure one good job in Delhi. I would be moving soon and I trust I could take my life from there. A path towards an improvement in life. Thank you for that too. All the best to your studies. Bye" He conveniently stated his statements conveying what he liked to tell her finishing the topic once for all.

Lavanya sighed deeply while Misha clutched her to realize if she is fine. Lavanya nodded in affirmative and smiled at her assuring she was very much fine after this as there was some cloud of understating guilt wallowing over her for making him guilty through out the life. Now it seems to ward off all the confustions which can lead her to make it peaceful she thought.

Arnav leaned with his elbow supported by ABhi's shoulder both looking at something intently.

" I guess he did take the requirements as we stated Abhi"

"hmm.. not a bad choice Arnie.. I thought you would prefer the other option for that matter. You know a certain point of excitement because of the intense cold weather which would be more realistic and heavenly" He winked at Arnav who nodded with his lips curved inside.

"Na.. Abhi... Practical soch yaar. We don't have much time to spend with them and do you want the rest of the days getting appointments with doctor unnecessarily"

"What Doctor ?You mean so fast.. Dammit I have planned for 3 or 4 years.. Don't just jump into conclusions. Vaise you can try your luck."He said shrugging his shoulder which made Arnav to take his elbow back and hit his head with his fists.

"Pagal.. Here I am talking about their health getting affected due to adverse cold and stuff. Aur tum bhi na.. vaise bhi its really hectic man.. Shaadi rituals and all that stuff on the top of it if their health get affected after we leave would you have the tolerance level to control there?" He asked as a matter of fact surprising Abhi.

" True yaar. Whats your plan? Did you talk to Bhabhi about the visa? I think your certificate would be ready in a day or two. I shall get only after a week na.. You first send it to Vishal and asks him to talk to the visa department for procedures. I will send it later."

"No Abhi. She wants to stay back for some days with family .. So.."

"Yea I understand. Swetha suggested me that too.. Lets give them time then yaar."

Both of them had sighed together with their face down in sadness due to the impending separation which they have to face soon. But not pondering upon the fact that they will have their wives for themselves for the rest of the life after this made their hearts soar high. Arnav tried to divert their talks that might ease them infact excite them.

"How did you manage to agree your family to prepone the post marriage rituals for this?"

"Tough it was but I can manage Arnie. I told them to finish off this in one day as I don't have the patience to go through all this.

Arnav chuckled and turned behind to see Khushi peeping her face in between them to overhear what they were planning for so long?

"Khushi tum?..Arnav stuttred thinking she might have heard what they planned.

"haan main.. kya hua Arnavji? What were you planning so secretly?" She asked in excitement turning Arnav and Abhay bewilder on thinking what they would tell her as it was a big surprise.

"erm.. erm.. Bhabhi.. voh."ABhay troubled himself to find words and saw Arnav.

Arnav suddenly got a naughty smirk on his face which made Abhay scrunch his eyebrows in confusion on what is he coming up with. He slowly snaked his arms through her waist pulling her onto him close to his chest sideways which made her gasp. She tried to struggle herself but he didn't let go out of his grap which made her glare at him.

"Nothing Khushi. You know I was teaching him how to make your wife fall for your charm on the first night itself ?" Arnav winked at Abhay who controlled his chuckle for the brilliant idea he came up with to escape from Khushi's questionnaire.

Khushi's lips formed an o shape and her face flushed with red colour. She hit his chest for his naughty comment making her embarrass infront of Abhay.

"Besharam.. Arnavji.. you are too much sometimes. Let me go.. Leave me."She struggled to get away as she was embarrassed beyond words due to his shameless convo. He didn't have choice rather than to leave her grip as the reaction to his impromptu comment will be grave at night if he troubled her again.

At last thanks for the update. Aww Khushi does not know what to do she wants to spend time with the family and at the same time she does not want to be far from her Arnavji.
Yes I can understand what the feeling is like because in real life I had undergone the same situation as I have to move to US after getting married and is the same when I visit India lol.
