is it practically possible their those parents who gave birth to a kid took care of that kid and gave the kid all that she wanted would go ahead and muder their only child?

im totally shocked and speechless.

Rishi, When you ask, 'is it practically possible their those parents who gave birth to a kid took care of that kid and gave the kid all that she wanted would go ahead and murder their only child?' It is a good question.
Definitely this incident is shocking. The parents who did this could not be considered humans and what they did was a cold blooded murder. You could see another thread in this forum, 'Lack of Humanity in the society.' This is just another example of lack of humanity.

Bur how is it 'practically possible' as you ask? Definitely there is a scientific explanation for what the parents did. Every human being has three brains - Reptilian brain, Mammalian brain and human brain. Probably you know how reptiles behave. They never take care of young ones. All that they function is to protect themselves, have sex and grab food. No bond with any other being of their class except to have sex. Then in the case of birds and mammals, there is a brain above that called limbic brain or mammalian brain because of which these animals bond with their children and also have a sense of family. Yet they don't have intelligence with which they could find more logically, because they don't have human brain. But they have a reptilian brain which is very much active in them and this reptilian brain doesn't work for family or emotions. It is concerned only for survival, sex or feeding. But this brain shuts off the mammalian brain when the animal perceives danger. You must have heard of a story in which a mother monkey pushed down her own son monkey into the water when it came to the question of her survival.

As far humans there is one more brain above both these brains and it is cortex brain or human brain. This part makes human being more intelligent and one who could make logical thinking. Yet the human has both emotional brain and reptilian brain. We know we have emotional brain because even as a person knows he has to quit cigarette because of logical reason, he is unable to because of the thrill of friendship, he gets by smoking. But then he has a reptilian brain also, which can be sometimes very active in the humans. And make them 'cold-blooded'. (Aren't reptiles cold-blooded animals?) If the human being believes from the reptilian brain, his survival is threatened and his cortex brain is not working as much as needed, he could very well see threats where they are not existing. And the threat can be even his son/daughter according to his perverted logic (No good logical brain!). Because that is the way reptiles behave. And this is the basis of parents murdering the daughter. We also have heard a woman leaving her husband and daughter to live with another man. This can happen because sometimes human beings can behave as reptiles.

Point: What I say is only explanation of how this murder is practically possible. This is not a justification for what the parents did. The parents deserve to be imprisoned.

Which part of the story did you find most shocking? That parents killed their own child? If so then you probably haven't heard of the khaap induced killings or honour killings that is commonplace in northern India. Parents (under pressure by the villagers) cannot tolerate their daughter marrying a guy in the same village or same gotra guy, a guy of a different caste, religion, or any guy for that matter that they do not approve of and do not hesitate to entice their daughter and Son in law back home under some pretext or other ( eg. mother unwell, all forgiven etc ) only to be brutally hacked to death and that too openly. Moreover, they seem to take pride in that action!
Arushi's case was somewhat different. It took place in an urban setting by a dentist couple. The case was in the headlines for almost 5 and a half years. The investigation agencies made many blunders and failed to nail the case for so long presumably due to lack of any conclusive evidence. The current verdict is based on circumstantial evidence. The parents continue to deny the charge and will appeal to the higher courts for justice. For now they are lodged in the jail sentenced to life imprisonment for the double murder of their daughter and Hemraj, the household help, who was first suspected as the absconding murderer of their daughter.
Coming to the motive the findings so far seem to point to a case of an enraged father who lost his senses on seeing his 14 year old daughter in a compromising position with their adult (around 35 yrs) servant in her room. As per reports the father took his golf stick and aimed at Hemraj , missed him and the fatal strike hitting his daughter 's head instead. The enraged father hit out again and this time hit Hemraj, who also lost his consciousness. Both the bodies were also found with similar cut injuries across their throats with possibly a scalpel. While the first wound caused by a blunt object on the head could be the result of an impulsive rage the story and motive for the second wound gets a bit hazy at this point. If the story constructed by the investigating agencies is right so far, it points to a accidental death of the 14 year old daughter and murder of their adult household help who was technically raping her. Consent by a 14 year old does not have legal sanctity. The couple have also been accused of trying to tamper with evidence to hide the crime and also special efforts were made to prevent the daughter's name being sullied by the Investigators.
It could either be a case of deliberate honour killing or a failure at anger management by the father. So yes, sometimes even loving parents can murder their only daughter in a fit. It gets difficult to predict to what extent one could go when overpowered by strong surge of feelings of rage , shame, desperation, helplessness and failure (as a parent) . Tolerance level of people on the whole seems to be at an all time low, everywhere.

I don't think we will ever find out the "whole" truth about the Aarushi murder case.

The investigation and verdict points that the parents (mostly the dad) killed her either in a fit of rage or to preserve honor. As Angie mentioned, sad, tragic, but this isn't something new in India. However, the investigation did have plenty of flaws. The crime scene wasn't cordoned off. Too many people walked about and contaminated it. The body was cremated too soon. Autopsy reports were conflicted. There were many statements made and recanted. Over all it was an investigative and judicial blunder after blunder. Nothing was done by the book. So there is doubt and we probably will never know.

Most crimes and convictions do have a small element of doubt, but bad investigation practices make this case stand out.

Completely agree, well explained !! 👏

Honestly i feel there's something fishy about the case - CBI must have done some locha for sure... Talwar's dental assistant Krishna was a prime suspect as he apparently had a tiff with Talwar a couple of days before... and he was discussing Arushi with Hemraj that night... despite finding finger prints of his on a cushion that was left behind at the murder scene, the CBI let him go as they claimed it was the wrong cushion they picked or something... I feel it's so hard to believe parents can do this... EDUCATED parents can do this...n even after so long, they are denying profusely... m sure there's more to what meets the eye.

i know stuff like khap panchayatsand honor killing exist even today. but thats limited to villages where after love birds elope and marry etc. they are killed. i can understnad those ppl are illiterate and orthodox and they do such evil stuff.

here the case is different. the parents are highly educated and they themselves had a love marriage it seems.
so killing your only daughter who is just 14 years old on mere grounds of suspicion doesnt strike to me. its an extremely shocking incident to kill your only daughter.

after all she was just 14. even if she was found in some compromising position by her dad so what?
they could have thrown out hemaraj from job.
i believe 14 yrs is a very tender age and even if there was complete scope to help aarushi and bring her on the track. small kid like her could be easily explained with calmness and make her realise the difference btwn rite and wrong (if we go by honor killing theory).

whats the need to murder a girl as young as her just on grounds of suspicion. thats extremely shocking .

i feel there's more than what meets the eye and we'll never be able to know the complete truth.
