Kavya is also long settled in the shaadied life...woh ab toh nahin aayegiš...You want advice from me? LOL...I'm still learning myselfš
Bones was the only crime/cop procedural I ever got interested in cuz the forensics was so different in that show...none of the others interest me...they're all so typical and predictable.
Before you give up on drama altogether...lol...YHM ka first epi dekha? I watched it yesterday...Ishita's family is very stereotypically Tamilian and the Punjabi aunty is also very stereotypically loud...I think the actress playing her is someone Ekta found on YT and got her over to play the role...lol...they are using BALH se Priya's house wala set for Ishita's house...and Ishita ko lowe at first sight ho gaya Ruhi se by the end of the epi...they've changed things from the book in that Ishita is not a divorcee...the guy she was about to marry refused to marry her when he found out she can't have kids...Raman is going through his divorce proceedings currently and his mother is already bride hunting.
Predictable toh definitely. Watchin' a cop procedural is like checkin' out the same blind lady of justice everyday ... kabhi in Kanjivaram kabhi in ghagra choli š .. same stuff slightly diff packagin'. But I guess its home ground so I like 'em regardless of the repetitiveness . Anddd ohhh kal tha pehla epi ?! Good you told me .. Imma download now . I knew it was imminent lekin exact date pata nahin thaa.
And I was kinda expectin' the extreme typecasting of Punjabi's into boisterous & flamboyant folks & Tamilians into staunch Southies. TV mein Stereotype nahin kiya toh kya kiya ! Warna aankh mein ungli daal ke kaise batayenge ... ke YEH DEKHO ! Aunty Punjaban hai, paraanda baandhti hai, makhan maar ke paranthe parosti hai aur boombox lagake awaz deti hai . That kinda ignorant exaggeration is prolly what makes TV tick . Despite the offensive content. lol.
And before I start watchin' .. lemme take a guess ... Raman's mom dislikes Ishita already ? š
And yeah I guess infertile & divorcee woman embroiled in a romantic tale with a rich well endowed young man (totally ignoring HIS divorcee status here) is TOO much for hypocritical desi aunties to handle. Unse infertile divorcee ke haath phirse peelay hotay huye dekha nahin jayega . Smart move, changing that bit in the plot. So she just has ONE 'flaw' that's in the way of her happy ending. She'll make desi audience less jealous than if she were to conquer her plight inspite of having TWO 'daags' in her aanchal . Don't mind my karwi comments ... I am just wayyy too wary of desi ppl and their ghatiya thinking ever since my wedding. Inlaws ke side se kuch rishtedaron ne jo rang dikhaya wah. They caused SUCH a scene when my widowed & divorced relatives attended my haldi or mehendi ceremony. Beyond disgusted with desi folks.
