Is it ok to use profanities and verbal abuses in your everday life? Would you get offended if someone constantly used swear words with every second or third word? Is swearing justifiable when angry or upset?

Shalini, What you ask is an important question.

As you ask whether it is OK to use profanities and verbal abuses in everyday life, this is how I take. Definitely using verbal abuses and swearing when I am angry is not loving to me or the person with whom I am interacting. As I am not loving to that person at that moment, that person will definitely get offended.

But then how can I stop using verbal abuses and profane words? The first thing I have to do is be more gentle and understanding to myself and see why I am upset and how I can take care of myself. I also find if I use profane words, it is because I am too harsh on myself. I have to check how I can change this habit to be more gentle and loving to myself.

When someone constantly speaks to me in abusive language, I can definitely tell that person I won't engage with him/her as long as he/she behaves that way. But I will definitely have sympathy for that person as he/she behaves that way because he/she doesn't know how to take care of himself/herself..
