13.1 Shahid Afridi to Williams, 1 run, a step down the ground, readjusts well and cuts

13.2 Shahid Afridi to Chigumbura, no run, a big swing and an even bigger miss

13.3 Shahid Afridi to Chigumbura, SIX, another swing, this time he connects and it goes a mile over long-on, no spin and that was thumped

13.4 Shahid Afridi to Chigumbura, no run, single into the leg side

13.5 Shahid Afridi to Chigumbura, 1 run, Williams shapes to flick to leg, misses, and an optimistic appeal is turned down

13.6 Shahid Afridi to Williams, 1 leg bye, tickled to short fine leg

End of over 14 (9 runs) - Zimbabwe 57/5 (293 runs required from 36 overs, RR: 4.07, RRR: 8.13)

SC Williams 3* (5b) Shahid Afridi 2-0-17-0
E Chigumbura 8* (5b 1x6) Danish Kaneria 2-0-14-1

14.1 Danish Kaneria to Williams, 1 run, flicked to square leg

14.2 Danish Kaneria to Chigumbura, SIX, that's gone into orbit, smacked into the upper tier over long-on. It's fun ... all in vain, but fun

14.3 Danish Kaneria to Chigumbura, SIX, and again! This time a full toss is smashed over cow corner into the empty stands

14.4 Danish Kaneria to Chigumbura, SIX, another one, hit flat and hard, it never got more than eight feet off the ground, wide of long-on

14.5 Danish Kaneria to Chigumbura, no run, speared in at his feet .. hit that if you can!

14.6 Danish Kaneria to Chigumbura, 1 run, heaved square - he didn't get hold of that

End of over 15 (20 runs) - Zimbabwe 77/5 (117 runs required from 30 balls, RR: 5.13, RRR: 23.40)

E Chigumbura 27* (10b 4x6) Danish Kaneria 3-0-34-1
SC Williams 4* (6b) Shahid Afridi 2-0-17-0

15.1 Shahid Afridi to Chigumbura, OUT, another big swing but he misses, it's straight, and he's gone down in a blaze of hitting

E Chigumbura b Shahid Afridi 27 (11b 0x4 4x6) SR: 245.45

It's raining now. Surely they cannot come off. There is only going to be one result and will common sense prevail?

15.2 Shahid Afridi to Brent, no run, red it at leg stump, dug out

15.3 Shahid Afridi to Brent, no run, cut, missed, too close to the stumps for that

15.4 Shahid Afridi to Brent, no run, on leg stump, a swing but he misses

Grimaces and contortions ... that hit him right in the whatsits. He bends over double and the fielders try to hide their smiles. They should offer him Taylor as a runner ... that will get him back to the crease.

15.5 Shahid Afridi to Brent, no run, pushed off the back foot to point ...another quick delivery at 80mph!

15.6 Shahid Afridi to Brent, 2 runs, swung over straight midwicket, into space but not with enough power to get near the boundary

End of over 16 (2 runs) - Zimbabwe 79/6 (115 runs required from 24 balls, RR: 4.93, RRR: 28.75)

GB Brent 2* (5b) Shahid Afridi 3-0-19-1
SC Williams 4* (6b) Danish Kaneria 3-0-34-1

Four more overs to go.

16.1 Danish Kaneria to Williams, 1 run, one run to deepish point
113 needed off 23 balls.

16.2 Danish Kaneria to Brent, no run, a big heave to leg, he misses and an appeal from Kaneria ... not a chance

16.3 Danish Kaneria to Brent, SIX, same ball, same shot, but this time he really middles it and sends it out of the ground, it bounces on the stand roof and onwards to freedom

16.4 Danish Kaneria to Brent, 1 run, full, he waits and punches it back past a flailing Kaneria and up to long-off

16.5 Danish Kaneria to Williams, SIX, one step, it was wide, he reached and drove that back over long-on. That's five sixes off Kaneria who cannot grip it

16.6 Danish Kaneria to Williams, OUT, Williams goes for another big hit, this time he doesn't get over it and Gul races in from long-on and holds on easily to a steepler

SC Williams c Umar Gul b Danish Kaneria 11 (9b 0x4 1x6) SR: 122.22

Full credit to Zimbabwe, they are going down all guns blazing. But it does show how small the boundaries are here ...

End of over 17 (14 runs) - Zimbabwe 93/7 (101 runs required from 18 balls, RR: 5.47, RRR: 33.66)

Danish Kaneria 4-0-48-2
GB Brent 9* (8b 1x6) Shahid Afridi 3-0-19-1

17.1 Shahid Afridi to Utseya, 1 run, off spin at 79mph, pushed through the covers

17.2 Shahid Afridi to Brent, OUT, straight and much slower - 62mph - and Brent swings and misses, losing his middle stump

GB Brent b Shahid Afridi 9 (9m 9b 0x4 1x6) SR: 100.00

Afridi has his 200th wicket in ODIs. Zimbabwe are almost out and Ireland are almost into the Super Eights.

17.3 Shahid Afridi to Mupariwa, no run, wide outside off ... 50mph ... he's slowing fast

17.4 Shahid Afridi to Mupariwa, no run, flighted, no shot

17.5 Shahid Afridi to Mupariwa, OUT, and he's bowled him with the wrong un at 48mph, and he punches the air in delight

T Mupariwa b Shahid Afridi 0 (5m 3b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

Afridi started the over at 80mph - faster than Matthew Hoggard - and he's ending at 48mph, which is close to Bishan Bedi speed.
Mpofu trots out
17.6 Shahid Afridi to Mpofu, no run, quickest of the lot, 81mph, missed the bat and the stumps

End of over 18 (1 run) - Zimbabwe 94/9 (100 runs required from 12 balls, RR: 5.22, RRR: 50.00)

CB Mpofu 0* (1b) Shahid Afridi 4-0-20-3
P Utseya 1* (1b) Danish Kaneria 4-0-48-2

18.1 Younis Khan to Utseya, 1 no ball, short, heaved and the ball just misses the top of the stumps

18.2 Younis Khan to Utseya, no run, pushed into the leg side

18.2 Younis Khan to Utseya, 2 runs, ugly heave to leg

18.3 Younis Khan to Utseya, 1 run, short, pulled backward of square and it thuds into the soft turf and plugs

18.4 Younis Khan to Mpofu, no run, into the off side, no run

18.5 Younis Khan to Mpofu, no run, outside off, well wide

18.6 Younis Khan to Mpofu, 1 run, very wide, he used his full reach and steered that to deep cover

and so to Pakistan and Zimbabwe's final over in the tournament

End of over 19 (5 runs) - Zimbabwe 99/9 (95 runs required from 6 balls, RR: 5.21, RRR: 95.00)

CB Mpofu 1* (4b) Younis Khan 1-0-5-0
P Utseya 4* (5b) Shahid Afridi 4-0-20-3

Mohammad Yousuf on to bowl. He has bowled just one ball in ODIs ...

19.1 Mohammad Yousuf to Mpofu, OUT, slow and loopy, driven to cover where Inzamam holds the catch. Huge grins all round, and Yousuf has not smiled more when he's scored hundreds. Even Simon Taufel can't help grinning

CB Mpofu c Inzamam-ul-Haq b Mohammad Yousuf 1 (5m 5b 0x4 0x6) SR: 20.00

Pakistan have won the match by 93 runs (D/L) but both sides are eliminated and Ireland will join West Indies in the Super Eights. Many thanks for staying with us throughout the long rain delay ... from me, Martin Williamson, and a coughing and wheezing Will Luke, it's goodnight until tomorrow.

Inzamam leads the side off for the final time, acknowledges the applause and shakes hands with all the Zimbabwe side who have come on to meet and congratulate the Pakistan side. The rest of the Pakistan squad are also on the field and he hugs them all in turn as they applaud him.

I was watching the news (actually my sis was watching it) told me that if they win this match .. they have a chance that they will come back into world cup? I wonder...

Let's see what happens. I was watching Imraan Khan's interview the other day. He said Pak team is quite talented. I thought he was joking, but I can see that now.

Afridi did a wonderful job! The guy is good looking too. 😆 😳

The macth ends up with captain catching the ball. That's a very beautiful coincidence. After all it is his last macth. 😊

Good job, good job. 😃

👏

very well said👏

When i got to know pakistan lost from ireland, i was really angry at them and said pakistan played like they are the worst team so far. But today I am very very very proud of pakistan Cricket team, i wished they showed this talent while bob was there😭😭 However pakistan played brilliant and what could be better end for inzy catching the last ball of his last game as a captian👏
