So, I see why people are rooting for Baldev and Veera but.. my question is, how is that possible?

From what my mom has told me, Sikh Punjabis.. can't get married to people of their own pind.. Because the boys and girls are considered to be brothers sisters..

In that case, Veera and Baldev would be like cousins so i'm not sure how the CVs plan to make their love story possible if it were to happen? It would be so wrong.. if it happened at this point. They've very well established that Baldev's dad is the Sarpanch of the pind.. which means, Veer and Baldev belong to the same pind. =/

Yeah that true but I think cvs will make Baldev and Veera makes couple.

Then the same goes for ranvi n gunjan too na becoz they also belong to the same pind but cvs ve made gunjan n ranvi jodi so y not baldev n veera 😆

..I personally, as a Sikh, would be weirded out.. =/ That's not how it works. They should've done their research well if they were gonna make couples like this.. I mean, if they're gonna use an entire religion and a culture.. you might as well represent it properly..

Its not really necessary. People do marry within the pind boundaries. The thing is Pind is usually a small district and mostly every one there knows everyone and stay as big extended family. However in the same pind there have been instances of great animosity as well. I have heard of cases where the families literally kill people from each other's clan. So depending on the dynamics of the families they share bonds.

Balwant and Sampooran were never related by blood. They were friends and their kids call refer to the elders as "Taiji and Tayaji" that means like uncles and aunts. But amongst themselves they have never shared a close bonds of siblings. Infact Baldev can't stand Ranveera and vice versa. So there aren't really any family dynamics that prohibit them to be paired opposite to each other. Yes if Sampooran and Balwant were brothers or even cousins their pairing would have been a taboo but not now. It is common to address each other as tayaji - tayiji, chacha - chachi or masi - mausa if the mothers are friends.

^That's true.. However, I never did say that they were related by blood. It's not necessary they be related by blood.. There may be no blood relationship, but they are from the same pind and as you already stated, Veera and Ranvi call Baldev's parent's 'tayji and tayaji'..

You share a brother-sister relationship with someone without having to be related by blood. =)

I'm not saying that I don't want Baldev and Veera (I honestly, do very much).. but I'm just trying to figure out how it could be justified.. If it can, I'd be very happy cause I like them too.. But if it's just gonna be 'oh, they aren't related by blood'.. then, I can't accept that..

Nope its not weird. My masi used to stay in one such small town and there they saw nothing wrong with the families pairing their kids. There are families who are very close and their children grow up together as siblings and even address each others as brothers and sisters and in that case if two kids after growing up develop feelings for each other than its looked down upon and make people frown (trust me i have heard of one such case in Mumbai) so yes then it becomes creepy.

^I guess it's a matter of difference of opinion.. I don't think you need to be closely related or have to be growing up with that person to have it be 'creepy'.. For example, I have distant cousins that are in no way related to me directly hence, they're called 'distant cousin's.. I haven't grown up with them, I'm not directly blood related.. But they're my cousins. =/

Yes thats what i mentioned... u r a punjabi too so u can understand usually aunty and uncle culture isn't very common in Punjab. Ranveera address the whole pind as Taya ji - Tayi ji. Even Nihal as a new entrant in the village was chachu... not uncle 😆

completely agree but Baldev and Veera never did. Gunjan and Veera were also friends... Veera called Gunjan didi only because Gunjan was elder to her. They didn't share bonds as sisters. So here Baldev becomes kids of family friends.
