Fourth India Fest Season to begin on December 5
Three-day event to attract large number of Abu Dhabi residents

Abu Dhabi: The India Social and Cultural Centre (ISC) in Abu Dhabi, the largest socio-cultural organisation of the Indian community in the capital, will organise "India Fest Season 4", its signature annual event, at the centre's premises from December 5 to 7.
The event is held in collaboration and the support of the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi. The embassy's cultural wing has arranged an 18-member folk dance troupe from the Indian state of Punjab to showcase the rich cultural heritage of India in the event.
India fest Season 4 will have more stalls, better arrangements and vivid performances compared to previous seasons, the organisers said in a press release.
The entry tickets are priced at Dh10 for all the three days, which enable visitors to enter a mega raffle draw for a 2013 model Peugeot 301 car and 25 other prizes.
The roof of the centre will have a performing stage, showcasing an India Heritage building being built over the swimming pool, and around 30 food stalls and other game stalls located in the tennis court area.
The cultural shows will present various cultures from across the world with the participation of the Fijian, Indian and Philippine Embassies in Abu Dhabi.
As part of the centre's social responsibility initiative, a portion of the event's proceeds will go towards a deserving charitable organisation in India.
Over 100 artists from India and the UAE are expected to perform for the three consecutive days of the festival. The inauguration will be held on Thursday, December 5, at 6.30pm with M.K. Lokesh, Indian Ambassador to the UAE, as the chief guest. Many other dignitaries will also be present on the occasion.
Percussionist Stephen Devassy and his team from India will perform on the opening day. actors Shakti Mohan and Mukthi Mohan will entertain the crowd with their performances during the second day on December 6.
Popular Anchor Raj Kalesh and team will present a magic show that will thrill the crowd, especially children.
A team from South India will grace the festival with folkloric performances, pole dance, and traditional art forms of Karakattom and Kalaripayattu.
Other attractions include folklores from regional states, western dance forms, various bands and shadow play.
Trade and exhibition stalls include a variety consisting of banks and exchange houses, education and universities including Abu Dhabi University, computer stores, properties and cargo exhibitors, garments and fashion stores, travel and tourism, cosmetics and toys, book stalls and paintings, consumer products and perfume and building materials.
