AT THE CUBICLES:

Karthik asks Raji to relax first. Vishnu asks her whether she would like to have some tea or coffee but she denies. Vishnu, Lakshmi and Karthik try to divert her but she feels terribly disturbed.

Lakshmi's mobile rings and she answers.

Karthik: are you sure?

Lakshmi: ok Raji... come fast...

All of them leave.

CONFERENCE ROOM:

Susan, Lakshmi, Raji, Vishnu and Karthik are in the conference room. She gives them a brief expalanation about the project she took over from Kaushik and how the almost completed project came back to square one this morning. She thanks Karthik for extending a helping hand and says that she is proud of her team who are very much helping in nature. Rest of them listen to her quietly.

Susan: client visit next week. Adhukulla mudichidalaam illaiyaa?

Lakshmi: kandippaa Susan...

Susan: OK... kaushik team le aaru peru irukkaanga... ellaarum freshers... so mothamaa co-ordinate panna mudiyumaa Lakshmi?

Lakshmi: no problem Susan...

Susan: yaaru enna pannanum nu naan mail panren.

All of them nod a YES.

Susan gets up, says "Raji... Un kitta thaniyaa pesanum. En cabin ku vaa" and leaves.

Raji looks at Karthik.

Karthik: enna yosanai? Poyi pesittu vaa.

Raji: mmm... sari...

All of them disperse.

SUSAN'S CABIN:

Raji knocks the door and comes in. Susan asks her to sit and she obeys.

Susan: Raji... Eppadi solradhu ... enna solradhu nne theriyalai...

Raji: paravaa illai... enna vishayam nu sollunga...

Susan: sathyamaa naan Kaushik ippadi panni iruppaan nu expect pannalai. Eppavum work, target nu thaan pesuvaan. Oruvelai naan sariyaa gavanikkalaiyaa nnum puriyalai.

Raji: vidunga Susan... neenga enna pannuveenga...

Susan: intha pazhi Karthik mela vandhappo endhalavukku nee hurt aane nnu naan parthirukken.. adhanaale nee ippo eppadi feel pannuven num enakku puriyudhu...

Raji: romba hurt aaguthu Susan... Padikka vaikkaradhe adhigamnu yosikkara family la moonu varusham poraadi permission vaangi inge velaikku serndhen. Graamathu le irundhu vandhaa avvalo kevalamaa?

Susan: appadi yosikkaadhe Raji... Idhu oru vagaiyaana mana noi.

Raji: sagikkalai...

Susan: ippo thaan nee strong aa irukkanum. Problem vanthaa odi oliya koodaadhu... ethirthu face pannanum. Namma dhairyathai parthu oruthan nammalai nerungave yosikkanum. Appo thaan intha ulagathula vaazha mudiyum.

Raji: OK... Susan...

Susan: oru vishayam eppavum nyaabagam irukkattum...

Raji: ennadhu...

Susan: nee entha thappum pannalai... so guilty aah feel panna vendiya avasiyam illai... OK vaa?

Raji: mmm...

Susan: sari ... velaiyile concentrate pannu... easy yaa divert aayidalaam...

Raji: OK... Susan...

Raji comes out of the cabin and goes to her place.

In this chapter the writer has well explained in a very good manner to everybody that while you are in a anger mood do not make any decision be calm at that moment and think wisely once you calm down then definitely there will be a good result. Hats off to Vichu Sir...

CHAPTER 40

Raji comes to her place and starts to work. Karthik and Vishnu let her be as they think only work will divert her. All three of them get busy in completing their task. They quietly finish work and return home in the evening. Even while returning home the other three try hard but in vain to divert Raji but she seems deeply disturbed and lost in her thoughts by not responding to them.

As soon as they reach home, everyone sits relaxedly in the living room. Karthik gets coffee and gives it to all.

Karthik: Raji...

Raji: enna karthik?

Karthik: 10 minutes la fresh up aagu... velile kilambanum...

Raji: naan varalai Karthik... enakku tired aah irukku...

Karthik: naan onnum unnai polaamaa nnu permission kekkalai... Kilambanum nu sonnen poyi pathu nimishathule ready aayittu vaa...

Raji: unnoda intha adam irukke...

She finishes coffee and goes inside.

Karthik: Lakshmi... naan Rajiya kovilukku koottittu poyittu varen...

Vishnu: avangalai parthaale theriyudhu daa... Avvalo tired aah irukkaanga... yen daa ippadi adam pidikkure?

Lakshmi: ille Vishnu... Ava innum divert aagalai... Konjam fresh air pattaa nallaa irukkum nu enakkum thonudhu... poyittu vaa Karthik... Aanaa... harsh aah pesa venaame...

Karthik: normal aah sonnaa kekka maattenraale...

Lakshmi: mmm... Puriyudhu...

Karthik: OK... naanum fresh up aayittu varen.

After 15 minutes, Karthik and Raji get ready, say bye to Lakshmi and Vishnu, get on his bike and he drives to the temple. Raji keeps quiet until they reach the temple and Karthik also doesn't disturb her.

While entering into the temple, he says to her... "un manasula enna yosichikitte irukke nnu enakku solla venaa... Ulle ponadhum saami munnadi kannai moodi unakku enna thonudho ellaam sollu... Appuram adhukku enna theervu venumo adhaiyum kelu... Appuram paaru manasu eppadi amaidhiyaa aayidum nu ..."

She simply nods her head and both of them enter into the temple. In front of the lord she closes her eyes and prays. He doesn't disturb her until she opens her eyes. After visiting all the idols in the temple, they sit on the steps of a mantabam there. He feels that she is not back to normal yet.

Karthik: enna Raji... Enna yosichikitte irukke?

Raji: onnum illai...

Karthik: nee normal ah illaiye?

Raji: unakku puriyalai... Karthik

Karthik: appo ennannu sollu... purinjikka try panren...

Raji: adhu vera... idhu vera...

Karthik: sari othukkaren... ippadi yosi... koottam adhigamaa nerisalaa irukkara bus le yo illennaa train le yo pogumbodhu yaaravadhu orasinaa ... koottathula theriyaama idichiruppanga nnu yosichittu poyitte iruppomaa illennaa venum ne idichaangalaannu aaraychi pannuvomaa... Appadi thaan idhuvum ... oru naalaikku nooru perai parkarom yaar nammalai eppadi parkaraangannu yosichikitte vaa irukkamudiyum sollu?

Raji: idhellaam OK... aanaa en manasu enna paadu padudhunnu unakku puriyave illai...

Karthik: appadiyaa? Appo sari vaa polaam.

He gets up and she follows. They get on his bike and he stops at a bakery. He buys some cakes and chocolates and again starts from there.

Raji: enga porom Karthik?

Karthik: pesaama vaa...

After a half an hour drive he stops at a two storeyed building on OMR road. Both of them get down and Raji looks at the building wondering where Karthik has bought her. A small sign board on the compound read "VIDIYALAI NOKKI"...

Karthik locks the bike and says "vaa ulle polaam".

He opens the big gate and a security guard comes running towards them.

Karthik: enna anne? Eppadi irukkeenga?

Guard: nallaa irukken thambi... motor podalaam nu ulle poyirundhen

Karthik: sari paravaa illai... Uncle irukkaaraa?

Guard: ayyaa, ammaa rendu perum irukkaanga thambi... vaanga..

Karthik: sari... vaa Raji...

He walks towards the building and Raji follows him looking at the ambience of the place. The gate through which they entered was built amidst an eight feet high compound wall that had iron thorn fencing for further two feet high. She thought it was impossible for anyone to enter into the compound other than the gate.

There was small garden filled with various flower plants occupying the space between the compound and the building. A cool breeze flows and all the plants swing beautifully. Raji slowly starts to feel better and a smile blossoms on her face. Karthik feels happy seeing her smile. They reach the building and its big main door carved with the statue of Goddess Saraswathi was wide open. They remove their footwear and go inside.

There was a rectangular open space in the centre with pillars on all sides. Some 25 to 30 young girls aged between 5 and 10 were calmly doing their work. Some were reading, some were drawing, some were writing...

Raji looks around. There was a paved verandah surrounding the open space. There were rooms on all the sides after the verandah with numbers written on the doors. She looks up and the first and second floor looks similar with a little wall built leaving the open space in the centre. She turns her head down hearing karthik's voice.

Karthik: Hai... cuties... romba busy aah ellaarum?

All of them lift their heads and smile seeing him. Next minute, leaving everything behind all of them come running towards him calling "Karthi annaa..." He bends down on his knees and all form a circle and hug him. He smiles and asks "eppadi irukkeenga ellaarum?" and they reply in chorus "super aah irukkom". He gives one of them the chocolates and cakes he bought and says "malar akka kitta kuduthu idhai ellaarukkum kudukka sollu. Ellaarum cake saaptittu samatha padichikitte irunga. Naan Uncle kitta pesittu vandhu unga kitta pesaren. OK vaa?". Everyone nods a YES and go to their respective places and continue their work.

Karthik gets up, holds Raji's hand and walks towards a room in the right side corner saying "ennoda vaa..."

The door was open and he knocks on it. A 45 year old man working seriously in the computer looks up and smiles seeing him. Karthik also smiles and enters the room.

Karthik: Good evening uncle... How are you?

Uncle: I'm fine... ukkaarunga...

Karthik: uncle idhu Raji...

Raji folds her hand and says "vanakkam".

Uncle: vanakkam maa... ukkaarunga rendu perum.

Karthik:Rajii... ivaru Rajasekhar Uncle... Intha "VIDIYALAI NOKKI" organization oda founder. Uncle... aunty enge?

Rajasekhar: dinner ready aayittu irukku ille... athai supervise pannittu iruppaa kitchen le... iru naan poyi avalai koottittu varen... tea saappidareengala rendu perum?

Karthik: mmm ... OK... uncle.

He leaves to the kitchen.

Raji: enna Karthik ithellaam?

Karthik: Vidiyalai nokki nnu oru Organisation...

Raji: anaathai illamaa?

Karthik: konjam appadi thaan ... aanaa idhu vera...

Raji: puriyalai...

Karthik: inga irukkura pasanga ellaam rape victims...

Raji: (looks shocked) ennadhu? Ivvalo chinna kozhandaingalaa?

Karthik: oru kuzhandhaiya inga koottittu vandha udane uncle police ku inform panniduvaanga. Police visarichu avanga appa, ammavai kondu vantha kozhanthaiya oppadaichiduvaanga...

Raji: appo inge irukkaravanga?

Karthik: ellaam nadanthathai kelvi pattu venaam nu appa, amma vaala thirumbi koottittu poga niraagarikka pattavanga...

Tears start rolling from her eyes.

Raji: pinju kuzhandhainga Karthik... avangalai poyi...

Karthik: romba kodumaiyaa irukkum avangala inga kondu vanthappo parkumbodhu... Yaaraiyum kitta nerunga vida maattaanga... Nalaaga aaga normal aayiduvaanga...

Raji: cha...

Karthik: inge motham 120 pasanga irukkaanga. Keezhe parthavanga ellaam 2^nd to 5^th padikkaraanga. 1^st floor le 6^th to 9^th padikkaravngalum 2^nd floor le 10^th , +1, +2 padikkara pasanga irukkaanga. 5^th varaikkum ingeye thaan padippu... uncle aunty ye solli kuduppaanga... 6^th le irundhu school ku anuppuvaanga... inge irundhu ellaaraiyum bus le koottittu poyi angeye irundhu koottittu varuvaanga. 5 lady doctors 4 psychiatrists free yaa service panraanga.

Raji: uncle, aunty ku nalla manasu...

Karthik: avangalum baadhikkapattu irukkaanga...

Raji: eppadi?

Karthik: uncle, aunty rendu perume school teachers. Ore ponnu eigth std padichittu irundhaa... oru naal school le irundhu varumbodhu avalai kadathittu poyi gang rape ... ethanai peru nnu theriyaadhu.. oorukku velile paadhi mayakkathule vittuttu poyittaanga... school ku pona ponnu innum varalai nnu police le complaint panni rendu naal thedinadhukappuram unconscious aah kidaichaa... evvalo treatment kuduthum uyir pozhaikkalai... adhu avangalai rumba baadhichiduchi... rendu perum job resign pannittu intha organization aarambichaanga...

Raji: Great... aanaa unakku eppadi theriyum?

Karthik: oru thadavai yaarukko avasaramaa blood thevai nnu message vanthaa donate panrathukkaaga inga vanthen... ithai ellaam therinjadhukkappuram naanum volunteer aayitten. Ennaala mudinja ella help um pannuven. Sundays la maximum inga thaan pasangalukku tution eduthittu iruppen...

Uncle enters with a tray of tea cups and a 40 year old beautiful lady dressed in an elegant saree comes behind him.

Karthik: (smiles) good evening aunty... how are you?

Aunty: fine karthi... how are you?

Uncle: tea eduthukkonga...

All of them have tea.

Karthik: Raajii... idhu Sangeetha aunty ... uncle oda better half... Aunty... idhu Raji...

Aunty: nee kalyaanam pannikka pora ponnu... correct aah?

Karthik: eppadi aunty?

Aunty: ennamo thonuchi... correct aah?

Karthik: mmm... correct thaan...

Aunty: naane unakku phone pannanum nu ninachittu irundhen...neeye vandhutte..

Karthik: enna vishayam aunty?

Aunty: ennoda vaa...

Karthik: Rajii... nee uncle kitta pesittu iru... Naan ippove vandhidaren...

Both of them leave. Uncle speaks generally with Raji asking details about her and similar stuff. After 10 minutes karthik returns alone.

Karthik: uncle appo naanga kilambarom naan Saturday varen.

Uncle: sari karthi...

Karthik and Raji say bye to him and Raji finds the open space empty.

Karthik: ellaam sappida poyirukkaanga... vaa late aaguthu...

The guard opens the gate seeing them. They come out and get on the bike and he drives back home. Raji puts her hand around him and leans on his back. He smiles and says "Raji... thookkam varudhaa?"

She replies mmm...' and closes her eyes. He drives slowly so that she doesn't get disturbed. When they reach home, he stops the bike and wakes her up "Raji... ezhundhiru... veedu vandhaachu"

She gets down from his bike and says "thank you Karthik"

Karthik: edhukku?

Raji: antha kozhandhaingala parthadhum naan padara mana ulaichal anaavasiyam nu thonudhu...

Karthik: adhai thaan naanum solren... kaushik panna thappukku avanai kandippaa dhandikkanum... Nee thevai illaadhadhai yosichu varuthikkaadhe nnu...

Raji: mmm... ippo puriyudhu...

Karthik: sari vaa... Vishnu, Lakshmi wait pannittu iruppaanga...

Both of them go inside...
