"Arrest Warrant? What have I done? You can't just come here and arrest me. I am a lawyer" Shyam spoke, almost shouting looking all baffled.
As his face whitened, Arnav couldn't help but let that smirk reach his face. Khushi was surprised too with the events and when she looked at Arnav, his smirk spoke volumes.
But why was he doing this? That still confused her.
"Please do not scream, Mr. Jha. We have a report filed against you" The Inspector said.
"Report? What report? And who filed it? On what grounds?" Shyam asked frantically and turned to look at Arnav with a suspicious eye.
Was it possible that Arnav has believed Khushi and had filed a report against him?
"We have a report filed against you for bribery and boodling. So, you'll have to come with us" the Inspector said.
"What? I am not coming anywhere. You don't have proofs. I..I can sue you on the ground of vilification" Shyam protested, getting nervous.
While everyone in the family was dumbstruck, it was just Khushi and Arnav who felt joyous, both for their own reasons.
"Jeeja ji, we need to cooperate with them" Arnav responded, coming forward and keeping a hand on Shyam's shoulder.
Hearing that Shyam turned to look at Arnav. He knew very well that this trap was laid by Arnav, but Shyam wasn't going to give up.
"I need to talk to Raani Sahiba before I leave. I can't go without hearing her voice once. Call her" Shyam said wickedly but Arnav was prepared for it.
"No, we can't call Di and inform her about this. That would be risky to her health. And don't worry, Jeeja Ji, I'll make sure that they take good care of you. I'll contact Mr. Roy and we'll get a bail for you. Very soon" Arnav explained and everyone in the family nodded to it.
"Arnav Bitwa is right. Anjali bitiya would get really worried if we inform her now. So we shouldn't tell her, Damaad ji. I am sure you are innocent and Arnav Bitwa would soon get a bail for you" Mamaji too agreed.
Shyam knew the trap was well laid.
"I'll see you Saale Sahab. This would come back to you" He mentally resolved as the constable handcuffed him and dragged him out.
After a long family discussion, eventually everyone retired to their rooms.
Arnav had strictly professed that no one should inform Anjali and Naani about it to which all agreed.

"I am thankful to you, Mr. Sen. This was a great help" Arnav talked on his cell phone unaware that Khushi was listening.
"And please make sure he doesn't get the bail. I want him to suffer as much as possible" Arnav continued, his voice bitter.
"Yeah, okay. Thank you" Arnav said and turned behind to find Khushi standing before him.
"I knew this was done by you" She stated with reluctance in her voice.
"Yeah, I did it. And this is the beginning of his suffering. What did you think? That you two can easily get away after cheating me and Di? He is getting his share of punishment and now it would be your turn. You ripped me apart, Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada. I would never forget that image of you lying under him. You have killed me enough. You have been cheap to the level you wanted. But now no more. I'll make sure you don't get to play any of your dirty games" Arnav spoke with a fire raging in his eyes, his voice ranging emotions from that of hurt to hatred.
The intensity of his emotions unnerved her resolve to stay strong. She had decided to stay immune to his accusations but it all crashed down, the minute he grabbed her by her shoulders.
"Why did you have to do that, Khushi? Wasn't my love enough? Even though I hurt you so many times, couldn't you see that I was hurting myself too? Didn't you see my pain in my eyes? And my love dammit..! I shouldn't have loved you. That was my biggest mistake. You took every advantage of my love and my trust" He said, breaking down and stepping away from her.
Khushi didn't know if she should cry or rejoice. The tears in his eyes made her heart constrict. He loved her. Is that why he has been so cruel on her? Because not only did he think that she cheated his sister but because he felt cheated too. For a minute, she could see why he hated her so much. Because he loved her.
Just hearing his declaration made her overwhelmed. Mirroring him, tears ran down her face too.
She felt pained to be in the situation she was. He loved her but didn't trust her. Why is her life so messed up and ruined?
She fought the urge to walk up to him and tell him that she loved him too. That she never betrayed his love and trust. That her heart belonged to him and only him.
But would he believe her? Has he ever?
"Answer me, Khushi! Wasn't my love enough for you? Wasn't I worthy enough for you? Why couldn't you love me when I loved you?" He asked her, pinning her under his gaze, his eyes full of hurt and insecurities.
"You love me?" She was still finding it hard to believe.
As Khushi asked the question, Arnav realized what he had just revealed to her. He had admitted to her that he loved her. What a pathetic fool he was! Professing his love to the woman who loved someone else.
"I did. But not anymore. I hate you! I hate you for loving a married man who happens to be my sister's husband! You ruined three lives, Khushi. You ruined my sisters life. You ruined her baby's life. And you ruined my life" Arnav said, once again holding her by her shoulders and looking straight into her eyes.
"That's not true, Arnav ji. I hate him. I hate Shyam. I love.." But she didn't finish her words. Shyam's cold voice resonated in her head.
He would hurt Arnav ji and Anjali, he had said. And would he even believe her if she told him she loved him? He still refuses to believe that she did not have a relationship with Shyam. Should she tell him she loves him so that he can break her hopes all over again?
"I love what? Tell me, Khushi" He waited for her to speak up but Khushi didn't look at him. Could she do it again? Say the words to him even after knowing that he would not believe her?
Arnav saw her silence and stepped away. Her silence told him what he already believed. He started to leave the room. But Khushi watched his expression and moved past him, closing the door before he could walk out.
"Get out of my way, Khushi. I have had enough of your drama" He said in a cold voice, already back to the zone of indifference.
He placed his head on the doorknob and turned it. Khushi, in response, placed her hand upon his, stopping him from opening the door.
Arnav looked at her, doing his best to not show how his heart fluttered at the slight touch from her. He watched as she took his hand in hers and slowly brought it to her chest.
"This is my heart, Arnavji. It beats only for you. I love you, Arnavji. I have always loved you. I never loved Shyam. Only you" Khushi said the words, tears dropping from her eyes.
Arnav, on the other hand, felt stunned. He watched his hand drop as she let it go.
He tried to process her words. She never loved Shyam? Then why did she ask him to leave his sister?
Arnav tried to wash away the image of Shyam hugging her on the terrace. But, it was burned too deep in his mind. And then he had caught her with Shyam in his room. Can he believe her words against everything that he saw with his own eyes? Aren't actions louder than words?
Arnav stepped away from her and Khushi watched him. She waited for him to say something, anything. To show at least somem hint whether he still believed her or not.
But, he didn't say anything. He just stared at her for another minute and then walked out of the room.
Khushi let the sobs finally take her over. She has said and done everything she could. He would never believe her.
She didn't know what more she could do. So, she cried.
