Barbie dolls all over the globe!!!

How many barbie dolls did you have when you were a kid? or how many barbies did you buy your daughters during their childhood?
yeah, barbie dolls have been an icon and I admit I had a couple of them when I was yet a little baby girl.. I remember my aunts and Godparents giving me lovely barbies on my birthdays and on christmas...:P and am also giving my younger sister some barbies now, the ones I've outgrown with and some new ones...:P

Now, would you believe when the Mattel Inc. (the manufacturer of Barbie) claims that over a billion barbie dolls have been sold worldwide, and said further that at least three barbie dolls are sold every second? What is your take on this?

I had about 3 barbies when i was a kid. I still have two of them which are now kept as show pieces/memories of childhood. I will certainly buy barbie if i have a daughter in future. I see no harm in it except the barbie's figure. It unknowingly drills into little girls that they need to have a great figure, slim waist and wear clothes(minis etc) which might not even be advisable.

Apart from that i see no harm in it. and trust be barbies sell like hot cakes!
