By now everyone might have known that Pakistan Cricket Team's coach Bob Woolmer died on Sunday. That day Pakistan lost its qualifying match to Ireland.

My question: Are sports being so serious and precious than life?

Have we lost the sportsman spirit?

Why don't people [public] accept loosing? If any country lost, just move on....😕...why to make it an issue? I am hearing both Pakistani and Indian people going mad at their respective cricket teams with phrases such as "We will not let them enter in their homes"😕😳 When these teams win, the same people go out for asking their autographs😕 why there is zero tolerance level? Why so much of negative attitude??

Your comments.

well ....u r absolutely right ....bu the main problem with indians and pakis r tht they treat cricket as their war!! there r so many sports around ....but none of them catches atention to the height as it does during the cricket!! indians n pakis r quite a strong teams and therefore they expext a lot from them....
if the same thing wud have happened against srilanka or australia or englad ....i.e with any of the stronger competoitive teams .....reactions wudnt hav been tht bad but losing to bangladesh and ireland was sumthing very disheartning and a big disappointment for their respective countries.

i guess ppl shud understand tht the players r human too ...if they win sumtimes ...they cud lose too ...if they can beat a stronger team than theirs ..they can even lose to weaker teams! its all a game!!but they all fail to undrstand this and when they lose they feel like they have lost a world war or sumthing.....

but if we see vice -versa .....if they win ...toh unko sar par baitha lete hai .....like dhoni got a land n all ....for his good performance ....
i guess theer shud limit to both praises and crictism .........it shud not be overdone and thts is the only soln according to me!!

There are two sports events where India could touch the highest feet..... One is Cricket and other is Hockey......

The people dont get frustrated that we are losing... they are frustrated that we are losing on account of politics and corruption.... that is why the deserving people from India not getting the chance to show their talents even in Ranji level.....

I personally know a guy who came to Bangkok this year and is playing for our team has already created fuss here with 3 hundreds in 5 matches.... with one hundred in just 38 deliveries.....

Its but natural to get disappointed if u lose to a debutant team.... but yeah it is not bigger than someone's life😃

Everything in the world requires mental and physical toughness😛.... see even people take their lives because of problems in marriage😆.... so we cant ban marriage na😆.....

Cricket is as it is a dangerous game.... u get injuries.... Raman Lamba died while playing.... even a tennis player died once as the ball went right through the chest and damaged the heart.... so its a dangerous game and require a lot of mental and physical toughness..... I myself had a blow in my ribs during cricket practice and for a second could see only stars in front of my eyes😆..... but that does nt mean i leave playing cricket.....

I know a man they were playing with plastic ball and still the ball went directly into his eye and revolved their making him disable for life.... Though it is dangerous it is a game.... and people love to play it..... We have heard a recent story where a boy died because of excessive practice and exercise as his dad wanted him to be olympian...... the people should realise that its games and its not more than life.... but banning the game is not the solution because it is feeding so many families right now....

It is feeding the cricketers and their family, not only national level but also the club level.... it is feeding the people involved in advertisements.... It is helping the people working in the industries for which the cricketers endorse the advertisement..... it is giving life to many.... and hence ban on the game is not the correct step.....😃

Young cricket fan dies after India's World Cup defeat
Monday March 19, 12:03 PM

Patna, March 19 (IANS) A 17-year-old boy in Bihar died of a heart attack soon after India's shocking defeat at the hands of Bangladesh in the cricket World Cup, media reports said Monday.

Ramparvesh Rai, 17, an emotionally-charged student and a die-hard cricket fan, died Sunday after India lost to Bangladesh Saturday.

'India's defeat cost my son's life. He was so shocked that his heart stopped beating minutes after the winning stroke by Bangladeshi batsman Mushfiqur Rahim,' said Ramparvesh's father Sita Ram Rai, a resident of Adalpur village in Samastipur district, about 70 km from here.

'He could not digest the defeat as he fell unconscious and on the way to the hospital he died of a massive heart attack,' Sita Ram Rai said.

According to Rai, he and his family were watching the India-Bangladesh match live on national broadcaster Doordarshan.

'He was upset after the poor performance of the Indian batsmen,' a tearful Rai said.
