Whose Ghuthi: Sunil Grover Or Viacome 18 ?????

Comedy Nights With Kapil' no.1 comedy show in india which sees the height of success in a very short period of time and so is it's character whether it be - Bittoo,Ghuthi,Palak,Dadi & Bua.. on September 25, was only when the entire set was on fire, but Kapil (K9 Production) overcome from it in just two weeks...

But things doesn't remain the same, since last month there was a buzz that everything is not fine between sunil grover (Ghuthi) & kapil and it comes in public when the new came that sunil grover quits the show and will start his own new brand show...

Between all this Kapil continuously says that there is no rift between him and sunil but that doesn't came true and the new broke in media that sunil grover is making a show with the character "Ghuthi"...in no time Show's producers Viacom 18 on Wednesday published an advert in the newspapers as a notice, warning that the network will resort to legal action if Grover or any artist uses the character in any other show.

But this is only the one part of the story , we are saying this because sunil grover did the role of ghuthi before "Comedy nights..." also, Sunil grover was seen in the role of a villager girl in Comedy circus (which used to air on Sony) where his name was ghuthi...

But no one can deny the fact that "Ghuthi" become popular from "Comedy Nights With Kapil" before that no one knows ghuthi.

So now its interesting to see in future and to see what is in the fate of "Ghuthi ", it's all legal matter...

RIP Guthi

It's getting irritating. guthi was on the stage for ten minutes. It's done move on. I didn't miss guthi in sunny deol episode. As more characters are added, guthi will be forgotten. Everyone use to love Seinfeild...life went on without it.

That's just it. Guthi is only a 10 minute character. Kapil is multi-faceted comedian. Manish Paul is not. Sunil Grover's interview on Rediff, I thought showed him to be arrogant.

how can Sunil leave the show who gave him so much popularity in a short period which show touching the milestone.Gutthi is a character which is popular in only comedy night with kapil not in comedy circus.Viacom using gutthi character for his show after do many changes in this character.he leave the show (no problem) they r thinking the replacement of the Sunil, how can Sunil copy the same character while the same character already is using by Viacom.in professional life copy is strictly prohibited.

Sunil has his own talent and deserves respect. As audience it is always nice to see whole team. Only then entertainment is complete. Guthi was popular and is missed. People don't stop watching the show but do wonder where's Gutthi and when the character will be shown.

As far as possible team should remain intact and sadly this is not the case with any show on Colors these days! They kicked out even main leads from flagship shows like Balika Vadhu and Uttaran. What to expect in any other show?!

I don't believe that character is channel's property alone especially since Guthi appeared first on a Sony TV show and not originally this one.

Viacom 18 is making hue and cry because they are burning. It is pure insecurity of the possibility of that character being lapped up elsewhere. They're trying to gag an artiste as if he can perform only on their channel and if he doesn't perform there then he can't perform anywhere else! 🤢
Either try to retain an artiste or let him/her be!

Actors do ads and stage shows in their signature character avatars. Kapil himself has done that Shamsher the inspector character on Star One, NDTV Imagine, Sony and Colors. Where were so called copyright issues then?

This so called notice to Sunil and any platform where he does a Gutthi act is unfair and silly. Rather it gives poor impression of the channel. Kapil tries to convey that there are no problems and issues will be settled soon whereas such controversies create negativity.

I saw parts of his interview, sunil was talking like he is king of comedy. He is just too big in his world. He really turned me off. Point is guthi didn't get attention anywhere except at CNWK. So Viacom did work on the character. I saw him do guthi once at comedy circus and he was awesome. He repeated same character second time and it fell flat on the floor. Even on CNWK he wasn't fantastic every time. So media need to stop making this character guthi as soul of CNWK because he is NOT. guthi is popular because of CNWK not other way around.

Guthi might have got more popular due to CNWK but it doesn't mean CNWK or Colors hold creative copyright or exclusive rights over Guthi! Every comedian creates some character like Bharti did Lalli, Kapil made Shamsher, Sunil Pal made Ratan Noora etc. It's theirs. Channels have no right to ban them from performing a certain character anywhere. It's not like Colors created an Anandi and actor can't do that role anywhere else. Guthi existed before this show did. The show and channel don't have any right to restrict Sunil Grover from performing this character anywhere else.

Regarding acts falling flat etc. then every artiste has his bad days. Sunil Pal won Laughter Challenge due to Ratan Noora but the same act often fell flat when he did it on Sahara and NDTV Imagine.

Sunil isn't some Comedy King. But he's a long running professional and is also formally educated in theatre arts. Colors can't treat him or any other actor like throw-aways.

I don't know about anybody's interviews. But I do like all their work.

In fact I was thinking Colors was smart to pull all famous comedians under one umbrella through this show and thought someday they'd even get Krushna-Sudesh and Bharti to make the party even livelier. Guess I was hoping for too much. They couldn't even retain the ones they had. It's repeat of their controversies with actor replacements in their other shows.
