There's this thing which I was never able to understand- HOW CAN TWO PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT SEEN EACH OTHER PERSONALLY, N JUST BY LOOKING AT THEIR PHOTO, CAN DECIDE TO SPEND THEIR REST OF THEIR LIVES WITH THEM????

To bring a PERMANENT SOLUTION to my question-cum-curiosity, I decided to attend my bestie of a 1st cousin, Rohit & his beautiful fiance, Natasha's wedding.
My mom-dad were very, Correction, HUGELY surprised and shocked when they found out that, I, of all the people in the world, who didn't believe in relationships and all that jazz, wanted to "ATTEND" attend a wedding! Like, PROPERLY, PARTICIPATING IN ALL OF THE ACTIVITIES, *scratch that*, ummm... what do u call them... Rituals! Ya, FULLY N ACTIVELY PARTICIPATING in all of the rituals...
I... oh I'm so sorry! I was so into telling u guys about this that I almost forgot to introduce myself. Hi. My name's Reyaansh Singhania. My buds *Sharon, Sammy, Chelsea, Varun* call me Rey. M in East Valley University, California. I'm in my 1st year of studying MFS... as in, Masters in Fashion Studies. I love to sketch, draw, create designs for guys, girls, women, men, kids... U can say, i'm a fashion designer. But apart from that, there's this secret thing I also love to do----- DANCE.
If I fashion is something that I do for my profession, Dance is something that I do for my inner peace... Dance for me is like... meditation! *ok. ok. I know thoda filmy tha... * I'm not any A-star student of my University, I'm a decent ranker *thankfully, NEVER EVER failed in studies*, good in sports, BUT... M d star dancer of my University.

Pink, orange and purple flowers strung in green leaves with those golden-red-white droplets *sorry* kaleriyaan hanging from the corners... I must say, I WAS IMPRESSED. We were greeted by Rahul Chachu and Shweta Chachi. Many aunties went ga-ga on seeing me. Damn... I hated it when all these aunties go like- "OMG!! YEH KITNA BADA HO GAYA HAIN!", "OH! SO CUTE!! *pulling cheeks*" Worst part, they ask u indirectly if u have a GF OR NOT!!!!! Ugh!!!! I REALLY HATE THIS!!!
Nywys... I was really tired after the whole 20-hr journey from California-Delhi-Mumbai dat I went into my room and slept like a log.

I woke up... God Ji only knows after how much time. After having a quick hot shower, I dressed up fast as it was the Sagaai function.

I was still a bit sleepy *jet lag u see*, but the moment I saw her... all my traces of sleep just vanished completely. Dressed in a white full-sleeve anarkali, her mid-long, black wavy hair with a straight side-bang on her left accentuated her face really well, she was wearing only kajal, a shiny lip gloss which made her look natural, she was adorning blue n red jhumkis which made her look not less an angel descended from the heavens...

Her face... I seemed to remember her face, but my mind was on its own road-trip as I was unable to recall her name... since only the right-part of her face was visible to me, I was unable to properly gauge her name in my mind...

Rohit sensed my eagerness to meet this girl and he came near me.
Rohit: Hot hain na?
Rey: Haan. hot toh... kya? Hot? Kaun?
Roht: Chup kar saale! Dekh raha hu tujhe... aadhe-ghante se tu uss tad raha hain!
Rey: Mein? Mein kissey tad raha hu Rohit??? Tu pagal hain kuch bhi sochta hain!
Rohit: Kya be!! tut... Usska naam Kriya hain.
Rey *almost shouting*: Kriya? KRIYA GHAI????
As if it was some sort of karma, she turned her head when she heard her name. I looked at her and her eyes turned wide as saucers and her mouth turned into an "O" and she mouthed "Rey".
We excused ourselves and automatically my feet went twds her... She almost jogged her way thru the crowd but... my luck or whateva, her heel kinda cracked, she slipped and was almost about to fall down when I literally ran and in order t save her from falling down, grabbed her hand due to which she fell on me and both of us were on the ground; she had held my kurta tighlty and my hands *while tryg to save her* were automatically around her waist... I was a little surprised when I realized how well her tiny waist fitted perfectly in my arms. She had dug her face into my chest and I could almost get a whiff of her favorite Choco-Vanilla perfume which used to drive me crazy whenever we used to rehearse together for dance competitions... who is she? She is Kriya Ghai. My dancing partner, My 7-yr old enemy, and most probably my university's ONLY girl whom I fell in love with *although I dont knw abt her feelings, so I kept shut*.
We both got up when we heard some giggling sounds from Rohit-Natasha. After straightening up myself, only 1 thing popped up in my head *and maybe her's too*.
Rey & Kriya *to each other*: TUM YAHA KAISE?? AUR TUM NATASHA/ROHIT KO KAISE JAANTI/JAANTE HO?
We both spoke at the same time but after sm tym, Miss Kriya spoke again.
Kriya: Mein Natasha ki sister hu! Real Sister! *to which I looked at my soon-to-be-bhabhi n she gave me a "sad-but-true"look* Toh mera apni didi ki shaadi main aana toh baanta hain! Aur tum?
Rey: Mein? Mein tumhaare soon-to-be-jija/bhaiya ka bhai hu! *to which she looked at him wide-eyed and he gave her a "yes, its true" look*. I muttered inaudible to her- which means we r related now...
Before she cud reply, someone called her for help. "Aayi Chachi", she replied but not without giving me a final look.
All of us then proceeded towards the stage where the Sagaai was supposed to take place. I have to admit, even though we were not that good now, we used to be really best of friends since we were 5 yrs. But come High School and then we became enemies, *courtesy- a MU bwn Chelsea and Kriya.* And uss MU ka after-effect bhugatna pada meri aur Kriya ki friendship *and that was 10 yrs ago, since now we're 23 yrs.* Since then, I forgot my dosti and my love and replaced it with hatred for her.
The next day there was the Haldi-cum-Mehendi-cm-Sangeet ceremony. I was wearing a black sherwani with embroidery.
The moment I entered the place, my gaze went towards Kriya. She was looking so stunning in a sleeveless golden suit that i really cudn't take my eyes of her.
I really didn't know what came over me, I decided to attend a LADIES function! Yes. ME,Reyaansh Singhania, decided to attend a LADIES function. I pretended to shoot a video of all the ladies thru my camcorder, but my eyes were only on Kriya. After a few minutes, she left the place. Giving the recorder to sm guy, I followed her till her room. I was almost about to go inside the room with her when I stopped and hid behind a pillar.
Rey *to himself*: What the hell Rey! Whats wrong with u? Tu yeh shaadi apne questions ke answers dhundhne ke liye aaya tha na... toh phir yeh kya kar raha hain tu??? NO. NO. This is wrong. This is wrong.
Mentally cursing myself, I was about to leave that place when I saw Kriya resting for a while. I didn't know what came over me, I slowly stepped inside her room and kneeled down to look at her. She was looking angelic while sleeping. Without disturbing her sleep, quietly took out my cell n captured her photo while sleeping. While leaving, her Mehendi-laden hand just brushed my hand. It felt as if a current ran thru my body. I almost shivered when my gaze fell upon a definite sketch. I gently took her hand and tried to examine it. What I had thought to be a sketch of something, turned out to be "KR" inside a heart.
My heart skipped a beat when I touched her hand. Also when I figured out the design, I ACTUALLY felt happy from inside, though didn't know why...
I sensed Kriya shifting in her sleep, so I carefully placed her hand back and left her room.
Seeing the pic on my mobile, i kept on walking till I almost banged into Rohit.
Rohit: Woah! Waoh! Dude, easy...
Rey: Woh... sorry yaar! Mein bas...
Rohit: Waise mujhe tujhse kuch baat karni thi. Tu chal mere saath...
Rey: haan... haan mujhe bhi tujhse kuch baat karni thi. Chal.
Both of us in his room,
Rohit: Dude, tu yeh kya kar raha hain?
Rey: Mein? Mein kya kar raha hu Rohit?
Rohit: Saale jhooth mat bol. mujhe ache se pata hain.
Rey: Dekh... tu na yeh riddles mujhpe throw karna band kar aur point pe aa.
Rohit: Point pe aaon. Ok. 1st, Tum aur Kriya meri hi sagaai ke din par ek-doosre se aise lipat jaate ho as if tum dono ki life depend karti hain ek-doosre ke upar...
2nd, aaj tu, TU, of all the people. ek LADIES FUNCTION attend kar raha tha. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Kehne ko toh tu ek ladies function attend kar raha tha, par teri nazar Kriya se hatt hi nahi rahi thi!! And, and, and... FINAL STRAW! TU USSKE KAMRE MAIN USSEY COMPLETELY NIHAAR RAHA THA! So boss, point pe aake poochta hu, chaakar kya hain tum dono ka???
Rey: Ho gaya? ya aur kuch bolna baaki hain?
Rohit: No. Ur turn now.
Rey: Thank u. 1stly, I had no idea woh yaha aane waali hain. And hum dono ek-doosre ko koi lipaat n all nahi kar rahe the. Woh toh usske sandal ki heel crack ho gayi aur woh girne waali thi and I just saved her. 2ndly, Haan, meine ek Ladies function attend kiya. Toh, whats the big deal n that! woh toh kaafi boys karte hain. and 3rdly, mein ussey koi nihaar-vihaar nahi raha tha. I just went to see ki woh theekh hain ki nahi hain.
Rohit: Jhooth! Sab jhooth. Saale, mein tera bhai hu! And for god sakes, IT'S MY WEDDING. PLS, FOR MY SAKE. DON'T SPOIL NYTHG! N tere aur Kriya ke beech main kya hain?
Rey: Kuch nahi hain Ro!
Rohit: Jhooth mat bol tu. Agar "kuch nahi" hota na, toh tere mobile main *snatches Rey's phone n puts Kriya's pic*... yeh usski photo nahi hoti! Toh bata, kya baat hain?
Rey *sighing*: I dont know yaar! I mean, we were the best of friends... Phir, High School main aake, ek stupid si MU & sab kuch finish... humari dosti, humari arguments, humari fights, woh late-nights, pulling each others leg... I think I just miss all of that. Rather, I miss HER a lot!
Rohit: Dude! U'RE IN LOVE!!!
Rey: LOVE? ME? KRIYA? What Rubbish!!!
Rohit: Dude, M telling u! U LOVE HER!!!!!
Rey: Tera dimaag kharab ho gaya hain.
Rohit: UGH!!!! Ok fyn. Agar abhi tere eyes close karne par, u dont see her... then u're not in love.
Rey: U're kidding right?
Rohit: đł
Rey: Fyyynnn... just for your sake.
I closed my eyes and soon all the moments I had spent with her, from start till yesterday's all flashed in front of my eyes. I opened my eyes and felt a shiver ran thru my body as soon as I realised that... I HAD FALLEN IN LOVE WITH KRIYA ALL OVER AGAIN!!!! AND THAT SYMBOL OF THE HEART WITH R LETTERS ON IT SIGNALLED ME THAT KRIYA LOVED ME TOO!!!!
Rey: SHIT!!! I SAW HER... I SAW KRIYA.
Rohit: YESSS!!
Rey: Toh ab?
Rohit: ab kya??? Pyaar toh kar liya... pyaar ko pana nahi hain kya?
Rey: yeah right. lekin kaise?
Rohit: Dhakkan!!! Ruk, I'll do something.
Dazed with the realization, I left Rohit's room and proceeded towrds the haal where the Sangeet function was taking place. Kriya had not changed her attire yet she was looking very etheral.
The next day was Rohit & Natasha's wedding. Kriya was looking like a... patakha!
Waise, mein bhi kuch handsome nahi lag raha tha..
After the wedding rituals were complete, Rohit n my bhabhi, Nats made an announcement.
Nats: So guys, since kyunki aaj meri aur Rohit ki shaadi ka function hain, *hoots and cheering*, hum dono ne yeh decide kiya hain ki do log hum dono ko entertain karenge... ek IMPROMPTU dance ke saath.
Loads of cheering and clapping.
Rohit: aur... aur... aur! Woh do log koi aur nahi balki... KRIYA AND REY!!!!!!
I looked at the soon to be wedded duo and blessed them from my heart but on the outside I pretended to be shocked; Kriya on the other hand, was... BLUSHING. Y blushing??? I ddnt know y, but I went along with the flow. I went upto Kriya, asked her for dance. She took my hand and we started dancing.
Kriyaansh- Radha Kaise Na Jale dance.
Towards the end, we were standing in the Radha-Krishna pose. She lifted her lashes to look at me. My hazel blue eyes were looking straight into her green eyes. She cud almost find herself melting into my eyes. B4 she cud completely lose herself, she left. I went behind her. Closely following her, I almost grabbed her arm and took her into the terrace without ny1 spotting us.
At the terrace,
Kriya: Rey... Rey kya kar rahe ho tum? Chodo mujhe.
I still didnt leave her arm.
Kriya: Rey, leave me. U're hurting me.
B4 she cud say nythg else, I just crashed my lips on hers. I started kissing her with all my might and love that I had hidden from her since the past years.
After resisting for quite some time, she too responded n kissed me back.
Our sweet kiss turned into a passionate one, none of us knew. Leaving her lips, I gently placed soft kisses down her neck and throat... she moaned my name in pleasure.
I looked up to face her, cupped her face, looked into her eyes and I confessed my feelings...
Rey: Kriya, I LOVE YOU. Always have and forever will... do you love me?
She looked at me with shocked, teary eyes. A drop of tear escaped from the corner of her eye. I wiped off the tear.
She smiled and hugged me tightly. That hug, that smile... told me all of her untold feelings. Her love for me was clearly evident in that hug. Breaking the hug, she kissed me passionately.
Kriya: U idiot. U duffer! 10 yrs se wait kar rahi thi tumhaare muh se yeh sun ne ke liye... U... I LOVE YOU TOO REY!
I wanted this to last forever. So, I took her to the wedding hall. Almost everyone was present there. I took her hand, kneeled down and said all what I thought was best!
Rey: Kriya... will... will u go on a dinner date with me?
Kriya: REY!!!! Ugh... u're impossible! Fyn.
And as they say, one thing led to another and now... we're happily married with 2 sweet kids!
As they say, "Love can happen to u at the most unpredictable phase of ur lyf."
I hope that Yogi and u all "like" it..
