The 2nd wife passed away, and the reason is not clear. Maybe Ma-ji removed all the pics. Or maybe the pics are removed so the kid doesn't miss her and forgets her.

Because the marriage held more importance to Paakhi than to Anshuman. And his family never talked about the marriage, whereas Paakhi and her family waited for a long time for Anshuman's arrival and maybe they used to talk about it among the family.
