I used to love watching JA but now its a freakin chore. I watch it just to see Rajat and skip other scenes involving Jodha's monologues cuz she is too much when she is pissed or sarcastic. Its not cute, its not funny. It isn't even endearing the way she holds onto her prideful ways. I wrote a fanfiction with Jodha as a prideful Princess. People liked that character instead of getting irritated or waiting for her to shut up. Feel like bashing Paridhi's writer on the head! He gives such teekhe dialogues that it draws blood even in normal situations.
And I hate the way Jalal always has to manaofy Jodha! Is she like crazy or something? Does she realize how close she came to being beheaded or banished??? The crime was so serious that her precious Ammi jaan, who leaves her own son on the deathbed to drag her to safety, turned against her just on hearing the rumours! Twice Jalal has doubted her and both times he had crucial evidence against her. And both times, he acted with more restraint than a King at that agw would have. None would have waited for judgement or thought twice or even IMAGINED anything else could be the truth. She would have been killed or banished long back had Jalal not been halfway in love with her or been a less kind hearted King. If Jodha can say that attacking her pride is a big thing and in those times questioning a woman's character was a big thing, then an even bigger thing was an Emperor's judgement and the aan, baan and shaan of the Sultanate. Before that, no small lil Kingdom's Princess' dignity mattered. Even in Jodha's own khandaan, the punishment for such a thing would have been severe indeed. Such was the way of politics.
Jalal, on the other hand, has treated her far more mercifully than is believable. Akbar himself would have chunvaofied her in a wall had this happened in those times or taken out her tongue for defying him so many times. But this is the larger than life Jalal who, even without knowing the truth, never opened his mouth in public about her unfaithfulness. He even took the blame and kept on doing so inspite of her public declaration of hatred. He took that with a meekness that was unbecoming and unacceptable in a King of those times. Those who have even a little idea about history will agree that Jalal always behaves less like an Emperor of those times and a man ruled by his heart more. Had this been the reality, Mughal Sultanate would have perished long back!
In light of this, I am super annoyed that the CVs yet again disappoint by showing Jalal as a lovelorn fool asking for forgiveness from his haughty Begum. Is Jodha a fool? Does she not realize how far Jalal bends for those he cares for? That her bapusa agreed to barter her off to save his Kingdom and that he is no better than the man she thinks Jalal to be? She is so very dumb! How is she a Princess? How can a Princess not know basic politics? How can she not know how grave her insults are and how dire the circumstances had Jalal not stood up for her each time and taken the time to probe the unseen and unforeseeable? I mean - a clone of Maham, for God's sake? In those days? We won't think something like that even now, thinking it too far fetched for words! But Jalal did! Don't ask me how! That track was stupidity at its highest, even for Kekta.
So yes, I am so tired of waiting and waiting and waiting for AkDha chemistry. This show is disappointing for romance buffs like me cuz every scene is half finished these days, every track weirdly executed.. And Jodha's dialogues are enough to give anyone a migraine. Dunno what her dialogue writer is trying to do! Shudh Hindi from her lips sounds so uncouth compared to the softer deeply meaningful Urdu that comes out of Jalal's mouth. So many things are going wrong on so many levels that my words are tumbling over all over the place on this post. I intended to write about just the upcoming track but I find myself ranting about everything that is annoying me these days about the show.
Uff, kab hoga yeh atyachaar khatam?
