One of the BB participants got 'Dogla Award'... Dogla is a hindi term which means 'bas***d'. It is sometimes misinterpreted as 'someone with double standard'. I wonder BB team needs some good script writers.

Yes it is.

If I'm not wrong, it is also used as a term for people with mixed black/south asian ancestry on carribean islands. The intent is to call them bas***ds basically.

In UP/Bihar it pretty much means a bas***d. I can't speak for other places.

Zahra, I honestly don't know about people on this forum anymore. In the past few weeks, I have seen quite a few oft-used terms with redefined meanings. 😕

Roshan, I really feel bad for u. first of all, ur knowledge of this language is limited and then you try to criticise someone who is coming up with the meaning of a particular term which shouldn't have been used in the programme. plz check dictionary for its meaning if u don't know...

It's not about UP or Bihar, I have never lived in these two states but I have studied Hindi...and I know this word means that only.

You might want to check it yourself, my dear. The 'dogla' they were talking about meant TWO FACED, and not bas***d. More than dictionary, it's the context and logic that applies here. And I know my language better than you do. Thank you! The dictionary does have the following meanings: misbegotten, illegitimate, and bas***d.

But you decide the context here. That's all I have to say!
