I do not want to sound rude, but people should read up on OCD. Def not a medical disorder.
When it goes to extremes it can become one.

OCD is a medical disorder as far as I know ...correct me if I am wrong ! If that is so my entire family is OCD !!!!

I can understand if you like Karan's ponytail and long hair...No problem...Everyone has their own view on everything and it can be different...

I respect yours and everyone's...

But just to defend "the long hair issue" you are calling Asad's OCD tendencies as figment of our imagination...?? NAH, That is not going happen...

Maybe to "normal" people who doesn't know anything about OCD, tents to take it or any other behavior or disorders as abnormal and think that anyone who has it is some kind of freak...

We KNOW he has OCD not only because he reacts to Zoya jumpping on to beds and chairs, or of her leaving half eaten food all over...We KNOW that he has it in the way he likes his silverware in a perdicaulare way, can't STAND dust, eats only hygienic food, Or even like in this monday's episode, when Zoya was standing and waiting for him to wish her, he tucked her hair in a right way...He can't stand even a drop on his coffee mug and makes sure its not there anymore, there so many other things...

Just a neat and orderly person doesn't do that...

And Asad having an OCD isn't going make him any less of a marvelous and strong man than that he is...

I understand that it has been a year, and you may have forgotten Asad Ahmed Khan's habits, Maybe you need to re-watch the starting episodes again...

And again, having OCD or any disorders doesn't make a person unhuman or a monster...Believe me...!!! 😊

Nah ! I do not find it rude to be taught as my quest for knowledge overtakes any other aspect of my character ...my learning curve is very ,very high ! I am not sure if that makes me an OCD ..as the term is used in common parlance .
So thank you for enlightening me . I was a tad confused as a Doctor friend from NHS had convinced me years ago that OCD was a medical issue...a mental imbalance.. and needed to be treated like any other psychiatric disorder . She did share that the medical fraternity was riled by the popular and recurrent use of the term to describe anyone who was an orderly individual .

People who have orderly habits and keep themselves and their belongings with care have a linear and logical brain and that makes them great achievers . The external order around them is a reflection of the order in their thinking or brain .

However I did take your advice and researched on OCD and was surprised to discover that my Doctor friend was indeed correct ! I share a brief portion of my research :

**Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), a type of anxiety disorder, is a potentially disabling illness that traps people in endless cycles of repetitive thoughts and behaviors. People with OCD are plagued by recurring and distressing thoughts, fears, or images (obsessions) they cannot control. The anxiety (nervousness) produced by these thoughts leads to an urgent need to perform certain rituals or routines (compulsions). The compulsive rituals are performed in an attempt to prevent the obsessive thoughts or make them go away.**

There is a lot more I discovered that space and forum rules may bar me from sharing here . But its all there on Google search .

OCD certainly is a mental illness . We tend to use the term lightly for anyone having orderly habits . Google search corroborated that too.

I do feel Asad is not an OCD ...he is just a neat and tidy person who likes to see his surroundings kept in order .

This again can blow up into an endless debate ..so let us be charitable in our comments to each other and respect all ...those who like order like Asad or those who revel in disorder like our dear Zoya !

I find it such a co-incidence that last night's episode showed Asad and Zoya battling out the same debate !

Sharing my thoughts on last night's Asya scenes in continuation of the OCD Factor in QH ...
I am sorry to go against popular sentiments and declare that I did not find Zoya's antics the least bit entertaining !

Is it possible that GK was celebrating Children's Day ?

^ I thought we were "debating" on KSG or more like Asad's hair...and now on OCD...What today's episode or Zoya has anything to do with this...?? 😲
About OCD...There are many kinds of OCD, infact excessive of anything can be OCD, specially when combined with thoughts that if you don't do it something bad will happen, or a compulsion to do something even when there isn't a need.

OCD can manifest itself in many people, and in different ways, inafct it's taken as a very common disorder...Illness may intensify fears about health and cleanliness and increase the compulsive activities associated with those fears, and abuse may lead to obsessions about violence or danger. Major life changes: problems in work or school, changes in residence, relationship changes and other major life transitions can create new worries, fears and obsessions or stir up old feelings.

@Bold, Rashid leaving them has been a Major life change for him, infact he is/has been very afraid to hurt a woman like Rashid shaab did to him mother...so much that he was convinced that he WILL do that...that's why Bili had no problem to convince him that he did slept with her...

Most people with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) fall into one of the 4 categories, what I think Asad can have is :-

Counters and arrangers are obsessed with order and symmetry. They may have superstitions about certain numbers, colors, or arrangements. overconcern with keeping objects (clothing, groceries, tools) in perfect order or arranged exactly...

Again, any person who has OCD can behave very normaly...There NO RULE that a person can have OCD only if they are driven by it and are unable to control every thought and action of theirs...

The use of the word 'debate was as a joke ' ...not to be taken seriously ! This was just a fun post to help us get over the hair factor ...it was ballooning and assuming gigantic proportions . Some comments were coming forward on Dilshad's hair style changes ! Then there were counter attacks on SJ's HStyle .
Please take it as a tongue- in -cheek comment and let us move on !

I did understand that, this is why used " " for the word "debate"...

I thought it was a common courtesy to reply and tolerate each other's point of view...But whatever...!!!

I tend to think of Asad as someone who has OCD like tendencies.
Tonight's or last night's episode (depending on where you live) really put this OCD-ness into prospective...some of the things that Asad said about when he was growing up...how he never broke toys and was very orderly...sounds like he was a very organized child from the beginning and then Rashid left the house. This most likely increased the sense of orderliness within Asad.

Though I agree that no one can change over night but I find it interesting about this long hair/short hair debate is that some people tend to conclude:

OCD Asad = must have short hair
Long hair Asad = not within OCD character.

Just curious have we seen in any of the early episodes of Asad obsessing over his hair length? Did we see him measure his hair? Make references that he had to get it cut? (if so please share what episode)

His long hair has for the most part been jelled back or combed in place (except for the growing out days 🤢). And now we see it neatly tied up in a ponytail.

If in the beginning we saw Asad with long hair and his OCD tendencies would we even have this debate? And if Karan later cut his hair would we be arguing about his hair length because he is OCD he would not have cut his hair?

I'm sure there are people who have OCD issues about their hair...needing to always have it at a certain length or tied up in a ponytail.

I just don't see why this hair issue is being turned into a professionalism or unprofessionalism
argument.

Unless Gul or the Production House requests or had specifically stated in their character sketch to Karan that Asad must have a short hair style. You are not allowed to grow your hair out to a certain length and Karan blatantly does it then the argument about professionalism can be justifiable.

Now to play Devil's Advocate (arguing for the other side) 🤓

Asad has been shown to be prim and proper. You initially started with a short hair cut. Asad has OCD tendencies. Would growing long hair be slightly out of character for Asad? Of course growing long hair would be out of character. Asad is slowly evolving but an intrinsic element of Asad is his demeanor and look. Long hair just does not suit Asad or someone with OCD.
