but seriously, the reason as to why i let the plastic surgery issue go because every time i hear see another idol or actress it really just racked my nerves. it was almost like an everyday thing as if it isn't a big issue which it really isn't...well in s.korea it isn't.

but the one i found upsetting was when i read a blog about a woman he recently went to south korea to teach a school of elementary students. she was half Korean/Filipino and i think either Cuban or Brazilian. she wanted to connect with her home country and she wanted to make a difference and etc. she enjoyed teaching her students but she found it infuriating and heart wrenching when a group of students were picking on another student for her "dark complexion" 🤔🤔 and i the girl skin complexion is light and im like🤔...they were also pickiing on her complexion because she was kind of tanned and every time she went to a department store there was magically "no makeup" for her complexion. even clothes wise, she seems pretty average to me she was about a size 8 in US dressing size, but she couldn't find no clothes for herself in the stores or malls. even some of the clerks would yell at her in english to not try on the clothes they would say "very, very big".

but what really got me was when she told her students that they are all beautiful individuals inside...they looked at her with blank stares. it was like the concept of "inner beauty" holds no weight.

i cannot recall how many times i have heard of inner beauty while growing up of constantly hearing that outer beauty is nice but what holds true merit is what is inside, but these children have probably NEVER heard of this and didn't understand what she meant when she said that. it was obvious that most of them would not be the same as they grow older as most of them will undergo plastic surgery as she heard most high school students getting plastic surgery as a birthday present. i think she stated that 1 out of 5 women would have had plastic surgery.

LOL she's also friends with Danny and Teddy - as I said, longgg story but if I go to Korea - one day - I will be sure to take her with me 😆

Yea, I heard that about department stores and makeup...everything is pretty much superficial and physical...I mean even if you look at a lot of the girl/guy groups, you don't even really need to be a decent singer, just being pretty can get you really far *cough*Yoona*cough* (sorry SNSD fans). What I find interesting is male physical beauty in Korea...like I totally get females, since the beginning of time woman have been scrutinized for their physical beauty, even in the Western world, women are constantly objectified and judged by their physical appeal and this is even more heightened in Korea but the amount of importance places on male beauty and appearance is fascinating...I mean for godsake, you have a whole category for them "flower boys" - and even drama's driven by the whole concept ("boys over flowers", "shut up flower boy band", "flower boys next door"). A lot of people new to korean entertainment culture are repeatedly turned off by the female like qualities of the males and I don't blame them, I mean, heck all 5 SHINEE members have better legs than I do!

LOL😆😆!!! SNSD...😆 they were one of my first groups getting into kpop and ur not the only one who thinks that some of them, along with most other groups, that their looks are put forth more so than their actual talent. heck some groups and even group members confess that they got discovered because of a scout noticing them at a park, amusement park, and etc. i remember BoA saying she was discovered at an audition that her brother was auditioning for and they picked her instead because of her looks, although she was there to support her brother.

its one thing with the female being objectified in the western countries but it is spreading to the kpop world. im not much of a prune but the dresses are getting shorter and shorter to the point when they are dancing you can see their shorts/underwear

the whole flower boy thing i didn't really hear about it until recently with shut up flower boy band, flower boy ramyun shop, and etc...i know that is why every time im watching kpop videos my sister confused them as girls and even some of my teachers that they were girls. i remember the only way we could convert one of our friends in high school to the whole korean craze was through its dramas because she wasn't interested in the music because the boys were "too pretty" for her taste.

plus i remember watching Infinite sesame player and Sungyeol went inside of Woohyun's drawer, you see nothing but rows upon rows of beauty products such as facial creams, hand creams, moisturizing cream...its to the point he has more stuff than i do and im a freaking girl😲😆!!!! Even Ren from the group NU'EST, people were confused if he was a girl or a boy and some ppl complain about the company making him so androgynous looking and etc...😆😆

😃...The most interesting part my best friend is the fact that we both met each other on the first day of high school, when we both transferred from different schools in California to Texas..And, she came up to my table as said, "May I eat with you?"...And, from then on we have been inseparable and now I have a large group of Korean friends through her where we discuss Korean dramas, K pop music, and K pop idols..😆

P.S. I made a pact w/ her in our freshman year in college that once we graduate, we would accompany each other to our home countries..Her's being Korea and mine of course India..I have already visited to India w/ her, so now it's her turn lol..😉..we have made so many pacts it not even funny, getting married if possible at the same time, even though we don't have any bf's 😆..But, it's fun w/ her, and her parents and brother are just some of the best people I have ever met in my life! I am always at her place than mine, that even my parents are like, "I know you wish you were Korean"😆..I am like "Hell yeah MOM!! I am missing out on so much not being Korean"!😆..Plus, I have met some very great Korean looking guys who almost resemble in appearance to LMH, So Ji Sub, and Kim Hyun Joong..😛..Sadly, they all went back to Korea after high school.."sigh"..was so disappointed! 😆

You know what..that is exactly what i have been thinking while watching all these K dramas. I have always wondered whether all the things that are shown are true in the real Korean society. Especially the bullying aspect which is extreme! After watching Korean variety shows and videos by simon and martina (youtubers who live in Korea) , i found that there are some things are true such as the whole sunbae and hoobie thing and the drinking culture - pouring the drinks to you superior.
