Anuj Saxena's Maverick Productions is set to return to television after the Kulvaddhu debacle. The production house is producing the Indian series for a weekly popular show (which has been on air for the past two decades in Europe) named The Dream Ship. The production house has roped in Mihir Mishra as the lead besides Preeti Mehra, while the rest of the cast will be finalized soon.

Anuj, who is in Pattaya currently on work, says, "The venture came through a friend who has been in touch for some time now. It's a long running show in Europe like The Bold and the Beautiful. It's about a ship that docks at various places all over the world. So the German production house approached us to handle the Indian line of production."

This is the third time Mihir will play a surgeon on television. Mihir says, "I play an Indian guy who has a German girlfriend and wants to leave Germany to return to India. His German girlfriend does not live in India and the conflict arises because of the cultural difference."

The production house is set to shoot in Udaipur in April with a huge German and Indian crew. So how did the production house zero in on Mihir Mishra and Preeti Mehra to play the lead? "The show will be a romantic story revolving around a doctor in a cruise liner. We thought Mihir fitted the character of a rich, affluent Brahmin boy. Preeti has an innocent, girl-next-door look which the character needs. We're keeping the identity of the German girl who has a very important role under wraps for now," points out Bhavna Shresht, Creative Head of Maverick Productions.

Though, Anuj hasn't taken the news of the premature demise of Kulvaddhu too well. He says, "I am definitely not happy with what has happened but ultimately it's the channel's call. But the channel should have had the courtesy to inform me and it has been very undiplomatically handled. I have moved on and there's a lot happening besides my current venture. This is just the beginning."

They can't do that, our petition will be sent off tomorrow so hopefully they can re-consider!!
