It felt very different to watch the couple's cordiality extend throughout the episode - have we actually had one so far?

Viewing a Jodha who had nothing to say against the Shehenshah through all of today - nothing even in response to his taunts was surprising (nearly shocking, if I must say that!)😲
If he is giving her a sense of faith and trust...she is, by nature...a creature of absolutes ...hence her reciprocation...have you noticed that Jalal has been more mood consistent around her and not someone who has more of a tripolar disorder (manic, vindictive,sarcastic)...she is getting a sense of security from his steadfastness...
MOTHI
Was she the star today?🤔 She seemed very casual about a lot of things that Jodha has always seemed to be quite rigid about reflecting that Jodha's apathetic stance with Jalal is more her own doing than anything to do with Rajvanshi pride or her family upbringing. Mothi was quite practical about a husband and wife's relationship - be it sharing the bed with her husband or sharing her plate! She only asked Jodha what many of us would have anyway.
For one thing, I'm glad she did do so - since no one else seemed to be doing the deed (Mainawati or HB!)
Anyway, I'm also relieved to see that (even if half-heartedly) Jodha accepted that it was her 'ego' that wasn't letting them take their relationship any further than it was at the moment.
Naah...disagree here...I keep going back to when everyone...La Ruqs, the woman in a white shroud, and whoever else..Jalal included..tell her that she was a trophy of his victory and nothing more...once she was ...for want of a better word..fully owned and possessed...her significance ...heck! Her existence would cease to matter...For some one of her ilk...that would be death on a platter...Hence her resistance...to losing herself...

JODHA
How beautiful she looks without the veil on (when she was speaking to Rahim for instance). Another point to note is that whenever Jodha is comfortable and happy, she forgets to put on her veil - which I absolutely adore now!
All right, let's start from the beginning. Despite all that Jalal had told her yesterday (AND things she'd witnessed herself) she took quite a few nudges to accept that 'Shehenshah might not be that bad'! Being the slow cooker that she is, she required 3 proddings from Mothi + 3 reminders from Hb + 1 statement from Salima to at least take up the recipe up a notch from that of an salt-less kichdi to that of a simple pulao (spicy Biryaani tho abhi door ki baat hai😆)

Anyway, what I did like was how she didn't revert to ANY form of unpleasantness during the entire lunch episode where she did have a couple of instances to sulk had she been even her 'yesterday's' self. The lunch bit was my favourite part today btw! Even though we've had 2 meals scenes prior, even if we've had one in the movie - this one stood out for me!😃 The way it was executed was very decent, very classy and very novel too!
This was good...the movie was..better...
LUNCH DATE
At the beginning, if there was one thing didn't allow me to take the scene seriously it was the presence of an entire audience in the chamber. It would not have been unusual had the ladies not behaved like some spectacle was going on in front of them😆. HB's incessant grins and praise for Jo has always been extravagant, but when she hinted to Gulbadan Begum that Akbarnama could NOT be written if they stood audience to the couple's lunch date, I couldn't help bursting out into laughter! She is really desperate for a Waaris isn't she?😆
Yeah...but wasn't this common in the royal courts of those days...people to watch the king get up, go to the loo...get bathed...Marie Antoinette hated Versailles for this very reason...emperors really had no privacy...

Anyway, Jalal's 'knowing' smile at HB's hints brought me back to la la land though!

Something about a couple sharing their food from the same plate holds a lot of significance. Its a ritual that happens in our weddings the first day AFTER the wedding. When Jalal re-explains himself that he wanted Jodha to share food with him on HIS plate, she tried wriggling out of it - especialy since she instantly recalled what Mothi had told her about it - i.e.the blossoming of a relationship between a husband and wife. However, thankfully - she didn't stick to it and obliged him thereafter. How beautiful was that scene watching them sit opposite to one another - A true 16th century lunch date In a tent, a short table, delicious food, both of them behaving 'civil', a few mischievous remarks from his end which she takes sportively, 2 heartfelt thanks from Jodha (😲), genuine compliments from Jalal, many smiles - what more could one ask for!

Had I done my usual Akdha scene take it would have taken at least 4 pages of a word document!
And that would have made a fun read...why did you stop...give those CV's a run for their buckaroos...

RUQAIYYA
Does she have a split personality disorder?
She says she's not jealous of any Begum, then she says she doesn't care for them. Then, she says she doesn't hate them or feel insecure about anything. She says she'll not wait for the Shehenshah, then she can't help but look for him. She says Jodha is reduced to a baandhi by cooking for the king (which my dear can also be done as acts of love - not necessarily only servitude!) and then in the last scene she says Jodha is sensible enough to have cooked for him after all he's done for her. I mean, she was a bit all over the place today and her presence or words really didn't make me feel the amount of empathy I should have felt knowing her husband has developed feelings for another Begum! If this is what the CVs wanted, it's working! Maybe, she's losing the plot and knows not her own feelings yet - that she's in love with Jalal just as much as she is with her power!
Ya know...I don't like how they are showing her...methinx tis the CV's who are bipolar...need antipsychotic meds...pronto...
POETRY
The moon scene was very cute - especially seeing how Jalal promptly occupied his seat and emphasized that he had just as much right to enjoy 'Sukoon' as she did!
Paridhi's mocking of Rajat's voice was SPECTACULAR. It is very difficult for a lady to be able to mime a man's accent and she nailed it!
Spectacular actress she is.
Apart from the miming itself, the scene was quite good by itself in showing that Jo was happy to accept his religion and beliefs like he'd done hers.

MY TAKE
My only gripe from the entire episode still remains the speed and editing
Today we witnessed Jo clearing doubts about her night with Mothi, dialogue with HB, then her realizing, then cooking, Jalal discussing expansion plans, Shareef's rebellion plans, Lunch date, Ruq's growing insecurities, Jodha-Rahim, Jalal-Jodha night talk
OMGGG CVs we don't want all the transitions and all romantic scenes in 1 EPISODE! The happenings could have easily been split into two - with gentler transition between scenes and better editing! Why such a jump between scenes? Had these scenes been split into two episodes - with a bit of Jodha's self-reflect - it would have felt so much more believable!

We've had so many awkward moments between the two, but so far we've had NO slow music... no 2 second halts... no eye-locks...no breeze flowing...Nothing! All romance seems to depend on Jalal's flirtatious smiles. we need some other (albeit Tellywoodized) romantic special effects at least once in a while! CVs you come up with brilliant ideas - please, utilize them well with the proper effects/editing!😊

This yesterday foe-today friend was a bit sudden! I LOVE romance...but I like it to be taken slowly. A 1 hour tandoor cooked dum Biryani tastes 10 times better than a 2 minute microwave one!
When one is tired and hungry...the microwaved one tastes just as good! Kidding...I do get your point...lucid and lovely post, as usual..
With that Ciao gals...😳
