"Sharon!"
"Coming mom"
Sharon went towards the kitchen. A delicious aroma filled her nose as she entered the kitchen. Her mouth started watering. She hugged her mom from behind. "Umm...delicious" she said taking a spoonful of the biryani her mom had made.
"You called me?" she asked.
Her mom handed her a photo. "Not again mom" she cried. Sharon's mom had been looking for a suitable boy for Sharon for months and Sharon, well she was the least interested in it.
"Trust me Sharon; he will be perfect for you. I know his mom very well and I have also met Swayam once or twice..." "Swayam?" asked Sharon. "Yes, Swayam Shekawat. Well I wanted to tell you that his mom is coming to our house to see you" said Mom. "Oh...so that's why you are making the biryani..." said Sharon smirking. Her mother laughed and she too joined in.

Sharon sat on her bed with the photo in her hand. She turned the photo to see Swayam's face and what she saw made her heart skip a beat. She saw an angelic face with long brown silky hair. Her eyes locked with his chocolate brown ones. His eyes radiated energy even through the photo. Sharon felt warmth surge through her. His lips were curved upwards producing a breathtaking smile. "Swayam" she whispered. His name sent a shiver down her spine. She wanted to keep on looking at his face but she couldn't. She quickly kept the photo aside and walked towards the mirror.
She stood in front of the mirror and looked at her reflection. Her straight silky hair was kept open. Her eyes, greenish-brown were staring at the mirror as if determined to burn a hole in it. A small tear made its way her eyes but she wiped it before it could start his journey. No Sharon, she said to herself, no more crying. You had promised you will not cry and look back. You promised you will not fall weak and let the past haunt you. She thought of Swayam and again she felt something, something strange yet a familiar feeling. Could it be lo- no Sharon! Her mind snapped, control yourself. This is not love. There is no such thing as love. Remember what happened the last time you thought you were in love?? Sharon shook her head trying to remove these thoughts. She mentally cursed Swayam for making a crack in the wall she had created around herself. She changed into a decent dress, checked herself in the mirror for one last time and went to help her mom.

At the Shekawat mansion
"Swayam!!SWAYAM!!" shouted Lavika Shekawat. She was waiting for her son for the past 20 min. they were to go to the Rai Prakash house to meet her friend Priya's daughter Sharon. She was very excited to meet her future daughter-in-law but Swayam, that boy was taking so much time.
"What happened mom?" asked Swayam entering the room in a white shirt and a pair of boxers. Lavika stared at him in shock. "What are you doing in boxers Swayam? We have to go to meet Priya...remember?" she asked
"Mom, you go I am tired" said Swayam stifling a huge yawn "plus I have some work to do and if you like Sharon then it's okay for me too mom, coz I know you won't push me to my doom...you won't right?" he winked. Lavika smiled adoring her son. "Are you sure sway-" "yes mom, well if you like her then I will meet her sometime. Don't worry." Swayam smiled reassuringly. "At least take a look at her photo, Swayam" she said. Swayam shook his head. "No mom, I will only see the real Sharon." Lavika smiled. She kissed his forehead and started her journey.

At the Rai Prakash house
TING! TONG!
The bell rang. Sharon's mom opened the door and welcomed her friend, Lavika while Sharon looked over the process. She smiled seeing her mother greet her friend as if she had met her after a thousand years.
Lavika greeted her friend and her gaze fell on Sharon. She carefully observed Sharon from head to toe and felt very happy to have chosen her. One glance at Sharon's eyes told her that she was the perfect choice for Swayam.
Time passed as Sharon talked with Swayam's mom. They had dinner, all the three of them tired of talking and laughing. While leaving Lavika hugged Priya and said "I am so happy Priya. It's a yes from my side but..." she looked at Sharon and so did Priya. Uh oh, thought Sharon, they are expecting an answer from me. The two mothers waited with bated breath for Sharon's answer. Sharon closed her eyes and pictured Swayam's photo opened her eyes and nodded in approval. As soon as she nodded both the ladies gave a huge smile. Sharon didn't know why but she felt happiness surge through her. And somewhere deep down in her heart she felt that her one yes will change her life beyond her wildest dreams...
