As we are celebrating world's women day..lets remember some of the most promeinent and respected women from different generations 😳

Lets start with Mediveal era when beauties like Mumtaj Mahal, Rani Padmini used to live, their beauty could kill millions but very few of us know that..Mumtaj Mahal was a very capable and Intelligent ruler as well and used to help Shahjahan in running the Mughal empire and her proof of beauty still shinning high in the form of Tajmahal! It is generally believed that "Taj Mahal" (usually translated as either "Crown Palace" or "Crown of the Palace") is an abbreviated version of her name, Mumtaz Mahal (Exalted One of the Palace).

Rani Padmini died while saving her pride and jumped in fire, they used to call it "Jauhar pratha"

how Dhai ma(nanny)of Maharana Pratap saved his life when soldier came to kill him she replaced her own son in place of Maharana Pratap , and let his own child die!

then comes..Modern History..where we had women like Rani Laxmibai,Kasturba Gandhi,Sarojini Naidu,Chand bibi to name few..who played huge role in getting the Independence..

Rani Laxmi Bai the queen of the Maratha-ruled princely state of Jhansi in North India, was one of the leading figures of the Indian rebellion of 1857, and a symbol of resistance to British rule in India.the death of Rani Lakshmibai was the last series of the resistance to British Raj under the Sepoy Mutiny.

Its immediate effects included:

Due to her bravery, she became a nationalist and epitome of female bravery in India. When the Indian National Army created its first female unit, it was named after her. people used to sing this song..

bundale harbolon ke muh humne sunee kahanee thee..
khoob lade mardanee woh toh jhansi wale rani the!

Sarojini Naidu was known as Bharatiya Kokila (The Nightingale of India) and was a child prodigy, freedom fighter and poet. Naidu was the first Indian woman to become the President of the Indian National Congress and the first woman to become the governor of a state in India.

Kasturba Gandhi : Kasturba often joined her husband(Mohan Das Karam chand Gandhi) in political protests. . During the 1913 protest against working conditions for Indians in South Africa, Kasturba was arrested and sentenced to three months in a hard labour prison. Later, in India, she sometimes took her husband's place when he was under arrest. In 1915, when Gandhi returned to India to support indigo planters, Kasturba accompanied him. She taught hygiene, discipline, reading and writing to women and children.

Then we have many women who are rulling and ruled the world..in every field..be it politics..how we can forget Indira Gandhi, Margret Thacher ,Bandarnaike(First women President of any country in the world she was from Srilanka)

Kalpana Chawla was an Indian-born American astronaut and space shuttle mission specialist. She was one of seven crewmembers lost aboard Space Shuttle Columbia during mission STS-107 when the shuttle disintegrated upon reentry into the Earth's atmosphere.

Posthumously awarded:

NASA Space Flight Medal
NASA Distinguished Service Medal
Defense Distinguished Service Medal (DDSM)
Congressional Space Medal of Honor

How we can forget the latest tennis Sensation.. Sania Mirza ,Sonia Gandhi and many..many others!

the list goes on and on its almost impossible to name and mention all the Great women of the world in Words..its up to you decide whom you want to look upto and learn from..can be anyone a normal women who does her work Diligently and whole heartdly!😳

just by doing every single thing with full dedication and sincerity we can contribute our share..just BE TRUE TO YOURSELF and WORLD WILL BE YOURS!

Love always!

Nice Post👏👏Wonderfully written!!

My women of substance are:

I like Indira Gandhi most immaterial of her drawbacks(Though I hate Nehru Dynasty)

I like Sudha Murthy of Infosys Foundation(She is service oriented ,simple, witty and decent )

I like Mother Teresa rather I feel like folding my hands and praying her whenever I see her Photograph(I don't beleive that she is a saint)

I like M.S.Subbu Lakshmi, she is alive through her classical music!!

I like Madame Curie and my favourite quote of hers is "Don't be inquisitive about people,be inquisitive about their ideas"

Cheers,

Mythili
