Need info about the show

Hello can some one please tell me why Meera/Shagun got married to this guy I thought that she loved someone else? And also why did her wedding break that time. Why did she have to get married first so her mom could also marry.

I am wondering about that too. Actually I stopped watching the show after I got completely disgusted about the way Meera/Shagun was being treated by her husband and mother-in-law. I was even more shocked that none of the members of the forum commented on the bad treatment she was getting. What has happened to Abhimanyu and Shantanu's daughter?

In the begining I was very impressed that someone had taken up the very difficult topic of re-marriage of a widow. But the story has become the topic of mistreatment of the daughter-in-law. Is it ok to treat your daughter-in-law like what is being shown in the show? Do the forum members think it is ok to condone such behaviour of the in-laws?

I joined the forum because I thought that the serial would be seriously discussed. All I have seen is the updates and the 'thanks for the update' or 'thanks for sharing'.

Come on people let us see some opinions. Whether widows should be allowed to get married again. Whether young brides should be mistreated by her in-laws. And is it not the duty of the husband to protect his bride from such treatment? Is it right for the so-called pandits to play with peoples lives? Is it right for parents to get their daughters married to the first person they come across to keep up 'maryada'? Was ammaji's behaviour in the name of 'maryada' correct? Is 'maryada' the most important thing in life?

The most effected are the Indian women. Why are there no comments from them? I am a male and I have been shocked and the women who watch the show and the women members of the forum have nothing to say? VERY SAD.
