Ekta Kapoor's Gabbar Singh stalled

The shooting of Ekta Kapoor's film Gabbar Singh had to be stopped midway in Azamgadh due poor weather conditions and unruly spectators. As a result, Balaji Productions will now restart the shoot in Mumbai next month. Gabbar Singh is the Bhojpuri version of the Ramesh Sippy classic Sholay.

Mona Dhiva playing Basanti's role in the film says, "Every second day it was raining in Azamgadh. The weather was foggy even at 10-11 AM and hence we were not able to shoot."

"If the weather was chilling cold in the day, in the night it was unbearable. The arrangements made were good but we couldn't brave the weather and hence had to leave the shoot half way", explained Mona.

Talking about the mob frenzy that took place during the shootings she says, "A lot of police protection was given to us but the public who came there to watch the shooting created a lot of nuisance."

She further adds, "People in Azamgadh do not have much experience of watching film shoots and hence the crowd went wild. Moreover, people were very much interested to see Ravi Kissen since he is a superstar over there."

"But the situation became very funny because even if my makeup man comes out of vanity van, then people use to make noises thinking he is a celebrity", said the film's Basanti.

Gabbar Singh's den will now be recreated in Mumbai. Mona still has 15 days work pending since only 35 per cent of the shoot has been completed.
