KT's Rape - Views, Opinions and Facts...

As you all know, today's was an episode, that jolted a lot of us awake. Most of us have heard and know about rape, but never realised the impact it made. A lot of callous posts have been made about members who dont quite understand the manganimity of the situation. Yes, this was a fictional character. But there are millions of REAL girls out there, to whom this has happened, not just once, but repeatedly. As we sit here, on our computers, typing and IMing out friends, there are a girls out there, somewhere in the world getting raped.

Those of you who watched the episode, you know what I am talking about. As KT's was getting raped, I felt as thought I was being violated myself. And those who haven't/couldn't watch it, I don't blame you.

I have a few facts and questions here:

If Mayank has indeed been diagnosed with MS, then it is highly improbable that he can rape someone. Most of you must have seen the movie "Guru", and MS was what Vidya Balan's character had. She was permanantly in a wheelchair and quite incapable of unaided movement. How does a person, with muscle weakness and lack of balance have the strength to rape an able bodied woman? Especially when she is struggling and clawing at you, how do you control her?

And isn't it uncanny how Mayank is one of the very few CHILDREN to be diagnosed with MS, when it is found mostly in adults, and that too more in women than men... Ekta and her miracle workers.

Moving on... This scene has been the most visually disturbing scene I have ever had the misfortune of laying my eyes on. I can only just imagine what a girl who is raped/sexually abused goes through. A woman's sexual health is very directly linked to her mental health, and it is very obvious why most rape victims attempt suicide now.

If not anything, I thank Ekta and team for driving home to me, the point of what a huge thing rape is and how violent and traumatising and disturbing it is to even watch it. I never had thought about it in this manner, and now I most definately will.

Views, opinions and comments are all welcome here. Also discuss all topics about who you think the rapist is, KT's future, how her relationship with Lakshya/Eklavya/Tulsi will change...

yea thanks nimmi i just wanted to say i think it was really disgusting of the story writers to go through a rape of a woman again...when i saw the rape of nandini i was dare i say it twelve years old and wow that was traumatizing for life...now im fourteen and yet i was crying my eyes out...i thought that these were family soaps hence that i have been watching this soap since im was in third grade - thats when it started...

if the raper is mayank...he should be put in a hospiatla for mental disorders...

After watching the scene, i could clap for Mouni Roy, she made it look real, i havent seen anything like that before, but i expect thats exactly how one will react. Its such a sick thing, and the thought of it happening right now just makes em shiver. I heard that most women never tell if they have been raped, they keep it to themselves and die inside, but i think everywomen has the right to speak out if she is being abused.

After seeing that one scene, i realized how traumatizing it is, how horrific ti is, Kt was horrified..i was horrified. with all the topics being amde, im getting sick of the word "rape"!
Manyank being the culprit in all of this scares me the most, someone Kt trusts is the one who ends up running her life someone who is most unlikley to have done such a thing is ....I'm glad Nandini is back she will be the only one who will understand Kt's pain.
I'm sure Laksh will stay with Kt no matter what, but if Tripti stands in the way then it shows what a selfish tramp she is. Shows how the women can see money but not another womens loss of her dignity, her respect.

I swear its one of Ekta's signatures to haev rapes in every serial..

I completely agree with you that this is a very serious issue and from the first time it was hinted at that this was going to happen I was upset. This is something that really does happen and is very traumatizing. When this happened to Nandini it raised the issue of rape in marriage which is an important issue and I was glad that Kyunki had brought it up (this issue has been raised before like in the show Hasratein). The new issue at hand is how a person with MS can rape someone and I don't know how they are going to justify this - if it had just been someone with schizophrenia or another mental imbalance disorder the physical strength needed could be justified but here I really don't see how they can explain this.
As I said I was really upset when I read that first article about this because of the way that it described the actors making fun of Rahul - I am very scared that this will continue on the show (amongst the characters - I mean I have a feeling Manthan and Bhoomi will say something in their usual ways) and I fear that this rape will become a joke.
I really hope that the writers handle this with care and maybe use it to help Bhoomi find out that she is a child of rape. I would love to see Bhoomi support KT in this but I'm really scared that the writers will not handle this in the right way. I loved the way that Ekta's team handled the rape in her movie (the one with Anita, Aftab, and Dipinita) and I really hope that they can be as sensitive this time.
