She was hurt. Jodha was hurt by Jalaal's complete dismissal of her theory , her truth and his refusal to tolerate her in the Hojra for another second. Yes, she told him with a straight face that if she is proven a liar , she will not retaliate , argue , retort - she will do what he wants. And that's what Jodha did today. She was shocked and injured by Bakshi's cowardice and insecurity , but once Jalaal dismissed Jodha , she did not pounce back on him. She kept her word and walked out of Jalaal's Hojra with a quiet high-held head.
But that does not change the fact that Jodha was hurt and injured by Jalaal's refusal to believe her 'kahaani' as he called it. She could not show that injury and emotional anger to Jalaal or anyone else- but it came tumbling out in front of her sister Sukanya. Here, i am . Fighting from his front and choosing him over what anyone and everyone thinks but what about him? He didn't trust me and he thinks am a liar? Oh, why shouldn't i think that he is a Jallaad and my marriage is miserable? Lots of angry tears and repressed emotions that she had not allowed to flare up even once in front of Jalaal. How could she? She had given him a promise that she would do a " Windows are shutting down" if Bakshi says Cheapuddin is a winged angel.
Jodha is a temperamental and emotionally offensive-defensive volatile person. She picked an ALMOST fight with Jalaal today again after having shielded him from the world a few hours ago. She didn't understand the pros-cons of earning trust - she only understood that her husband did not stand by her side. She only took to heart the pain and kind of humiliation she felt when Jalaal called her a liar and told her to disappear. ... And in this sensitive yet volatile state of mind, Jodha has been taught two very important lessons by both Sukanya and Bakshi , which one hopes, shall stay for a few weeks at least inside her pretty head.
1. Sukanya.
What a brave and honourable woman! She knows that her marriage is about to break , that she may stay a spinster forever - but she is not blaming anyone. She has taken this as black humour of the chaos theory. She teaches Jodha today that emotions are fine in their own place - but you cannot allow them to rule your decisions and ruin your world. You cannot just get up and expect everyone around you to be 100% perfect with you all the time. So what if Jalaal did not trust you? So what if this situation is getting out of hand pointing to my probable spinsterhood? Should you spoil and damage what you have in hand already? And that too when he is not even responsible? One lie. One fight. One misunderstanding . And your stretching it exponentially can destroy your world, your relationship with Jalaal , your life and everything around it. You have to understand that emotions cannot be uni- dimensional - you have to keep the larger picture in mind. And the larger picture is that there are 1000 enemies of you and Jalaal's relationship - don't stretch this one mistake to a point where they all can use your angry demand for justice to separate you from your husband. I don't know who has done what , but what i care about is you and Jalaal. Why should your marriage suffer because of someone else's fault. Promise me that you will never fight with Jalaal again and never raise your voice in front of him again. You must promise me that you will save this marriage at any cost. For Amer's sake, for my sake, for the sake of your own life.
2. Bakshi Bano
Not everything can be sliced into black and white. Not everything can be divided into 'right' and 'wrong'. There are grey zones at times , in life. And am in the grey zone today. I know i have wronged you and led you and Jalaal into another fight. But as much as i feel bad for your sister , and understand your emotional turmoil, i have just been selfish to choose my own fears, sentiments and insecurities. I chose Cheapuddin over you and Sukanya because if i tell the truth , he will be killed by my own brother. And i do not want to live a colourless life again. Am sorry that i got scared and did not think of you and Sukanya - but i could not put my husband's life and my marriage at stake . I have been a coward and am sorry. But you do understand that , don't you? Please do. Save me from any additional guilt and save your marriage to Jalaal. Please reconcile with him and forgive me. Am a coward . Please forgive me.
And by the end of it, Jodha , her emotional fury and sense of justice being put in the test of fire understands that sometimes , indeed, you cannot separate chalk from cheese. I want to save my sister's marriage. Bakshi wants to save her marriage - and now, even if i know the truth and find a way to prove it , who do i put at stake? ...Unhappy Sukanya or an unhappy Bakshi? Its everyone's emotions at stake - can i still wield the baton of justice and scream my ' righteousness' and ' right versus wrong' speeches with dhol-nagaadas?
NO.
At the start of the episode , Jodha was at the brink of getting justice for Sukanya , even if that meant getting into a wrestling match with Jalaal. By the end of it, Jodha was at crossroads where all her anger and emotional aggression at Jalaal aside, she was wondering if at all there was a middle path that could save both Sukanya and Bakshi?
Its not just your whole life, its even scenes from your everyday life that come a full circle at times. Yesterday, it was Jalaal who chose Ratanpur Fort over Jodha and her gang. Today, after all the hoarse cries of trust-mistrust and emotional spewing , Jodha is going to choose Jalaal over Sukanya.
Tough decisions either harden your voice ( Jalaal) or else moisten your eyes (Jodha).
For the rest of the episode, i loved Hameeda's dressing down of Maaham and her " Hum sab mein shaamil nahiin hainn." Aunty zabardast rahee hogee jawaani mein yaar. Innke toh pyaar mein bhi aitraaz zaahir ho jaata hai.
And that Dhadhaam Khan ki jurrat! Jodha par buri nazar , haath-waath bhi pakad liyaa ussko daasi samajh ke.If only he knew the beauty beneath that naarangi veil is the Amer Tigress. Jalaal tera kya bhartaa banaata , socha bhi hai?
And no, am not blaming Jalaal for anything. Sar ki cchhat par sabko yakeen hotaa hai. Kaun sochta hai ki cchhat aapke hi sar pe giregi?
Precap : Awww,,, Baaghin se Bakree banaa dee Jodha?... Ittne motte-motte aansu and it was so difficult for her to swallow all the grief and tell Jalaal that she is on his side. Don't cry that much, Jodha. Jalaal poora ka poora Ratnapur hi kaheen uss bhukkhad New Sasurji ko na de dein. 😆
P.S- As much as i sympathize with Jodha, she has to understand two things: 1. Knowing the truth is one thing and handling it is a bonafide craft of the rare, darling. Bakshi Bano as a witness? SERIOUSLY? Wo ek macchar nahiin udaa saktee , and you expected her to save Sukanya's marriage? ... 2. Trust is not a HP Printer. Ki paper daalo aur printout baahar. Trust is earned and it comes in its own time. Learn from the losers around Jalaal. Trust earn karke hi toh usske yahaan shaahi rotiyaan todhh rahhe hainn. 😆
