A/N: huge thanks to all those who liked and reviewed.⭐️ I'm bored n so here's a short update.. also I wanted to unfold the suspence, some of my readers were restless. So umm read on 😛

Kaali mandir:

Jodha finished praying and was having a friendly chat with the priest.

"Humare iss karya k bare mein hum kisi ko nahi bataana chahte. Hum tho yeh soch-soch kar chintit hai ki shehensha ko hum kya kahenge, aur Ammi Jaan ko.. Kahi woh koi-"

She stopped as the priest gestured her with wide eyes. She turned around, anxiety gripping her body and stood terrified for a moment as she came face to face with the very same person she didn't wish to see.

"Aap... y.. yaha?"

She managed to speak. Jalal laughed, his laugh calming her a bit.

"Kyu Jodha begum. Chori padkdi gayi tho ghabraahat ho rahi hai aap ko?"

She ignored his questioning taking a deep breath.

"Hum puchte hai aap yaha kya kar rahe hai?"

She asked him clearly.

"Wohi sawaal hum aap se puche tho?"

"Humne pehle pucha tha. Bataayiye, aap iss mandir mein kya kar rahe hai?"

"Woh kya hai na Jodha begum hume aapki bohot yaad aarahi thi. Aisa lagaa jaise hum.. hum adhoore hai waha aap k bina. Isilye aap se milne chale aaye. Mohobbat karne lage hai hum aapse.."

*BG Ishq hai woh ehsaas*

Her eyes widened and her heartbeat sped up upon hearing his words. At that moment he laughed seeing her expressions.

"Hahaha.. Jodha begum, hum ne aap ko fir se buddhu banaaya.."😆

She huffed and gestured him to take the aarthi and that she'd love to continue this chitchat outside the temple. AkDha prayed to Maa Kali and went outside.

"yeh bhi koi tareeka hai Mazak karne ka? Ab asli karan bataayiye.."

Jodha said thankfully regaining her commanding voice.

"Jodha begum.. kya puch rahi hai aap hum se? hum ne kaha na.. bas aap ko dekhne k liye hum yaha aagaye.."

"Anand milta hai na aapko hume ched-ne mein?"

"Haan haan bohot zyada.."

He laughed again and she couldn't help but smile. Devi Maa, what's wrong with her? She was supposed to be mad!

"thik hai Jodha begum.. hum aapko asli waja bataathe hai. Jodha begum, aap aaj bhi hume marham lagaana bhul gayi hai. Hume yakin nahi hotha ki aap ithne gair-zimmedar kaisi ho sakthi hai! Aap ne jo sab ke saam ne kasam khayi thi ki aap humara khayal rakhengi.. woh jhooti tho nahi ho sakti na?"

"Woh hum- hum.. jaldi mein the na.. tho.."

"hmm.. koi baat nahi. Isliye hum khud yaha aaye hai.."

He walked to his horse and pulled out a small jute bag and handed her a dibba. She smiled as she saw the lep inside. Is it just the lep that he followed her here?

"Jodha begum hum yeh kaam kisi daasi se karwaa sakte hai.. lekin hum ne nahi kiya kyu ki hume lagaa, aap bura maan jaaogi.."

She stood dazed for a moment, smiling internally. He walked to stand beside her and whispered in her ear.

"bura lagta na aap ko.."

She shivered and distanced herself from him, composing herself. He smiled at the effect his presence was having on her.

"Hum.. hume kyu buraa lagtha?" She argued weekly.

"thik hai, acchi baat hai. Fir bhi, Aap marham lagaadijiye.."

Surprisingly she obeyed him again and wrapped up the bandage and even inquired about his pain.

"Ab dard kaisa hai? Zyada tho nahi na?"

"Nahi ab dard kum hai Jodha begum.. kaise kum na hotha, aap jo hai humare khayal rakhne.."

She shook her head and smiled. He then asked her to come along.

"Chaliye.. ab chalte hai.."

"Kahan?"

"Arey aap k khile ki taraf, aur kaha?"

"Woh.. hum.. hum nahi aa sakte.. Aap jayiye."

"Jodha begum, hum aap se yeh sawal nahi karenge- ki aap kaha jaarahi hai, yeh sawal bhi nahi karenge ki aap kyu ja rahi hai. Hum inn sawalon ka jawab ba-khoobi jante hai. Par hum aap tak yeh khabar zarur pohocha chahte hai ki- waha aap k sabhi rishtedaar bohot pareshan hai aap k jaane se. Aap chaliye humare saat.."

Jodha was taken aback. He knew it?? But how??

"Nahi.. hum.. hum nahi aa sakte. Humne kisi ko vachan diya tha.. aur woh hum avashya nibhayenge.."

He smiled as she went on giving her bhashan.

"Aur aap.. aap k swaasthya ka dhyan kyu nahi rakh sakte.? Aise humare peeche yaha tak aane ki kya zarurat hai? Woh bhi akele.. agar aap ko kuch ho jata tho hum-" she corrected herself, "humare Baapu Sa par daag lagega na.. Aap isee samay wapis chale jayiye!"

"Kamal hai Jodha begum! ek taraf aap ki baton mein humareliye fikar zahir hai aur dusri taraf aap hukm de rahi hai ki hum chale jaye? Jodha begum, waada tho hum ne bhi kiya hai aap ki Ammi Jaan se- ki hum aap ko sahi salamat Amer leayenge.. aur yeh wada hum nibhaayenge. Agar aap humare saat nahi chal sakti tho hum hi aap k saat chalenge.."

She was shocked. He wanted to come along? But why??

"Kyu.. Kyu aana chahenge aap? Aap ko tho.."

"Hum shehensha hai Jodha begum.. hum kahi bhi jaa sakte hai. Aur aaj hum ne yeh faisla liya ki hum aap k saat jayenge."

"Lekin.."

"Jodha begum, aap k paas sirf do raasthe hai. Ek aap humare saat Amer laut jayengi.. ya dusra, aap hume apne saat lejayengi; jaha bhi aap jaa rahi hai.."

She kept mum not knowing what to say. But she knew she had to choose one.

"thik hai.. agar aap ko apne pran pyari nahi hai tho aap humare saat hi chaliye.."

"yeh hui na baat Jodha begum.."

He smirked and got on to his horse. That smirk- she doubted if he was up to something, but there was a part of her, inside her; telling her that he was being just an obedient son-in-law as he promised her Maa Sa.

She proceeded to get on her horse but he stopped her.

"Jodha begum, aap humare saat safar karengi.."

She looked at him horrified.

"humare ghode par.." he cleared all her doubts, smirking again.

"Paranthu shehensha.. hum.. humare paas-"

"Jodha begum, aap shayad bhul gayi hai ki hum zakhmi hue the. Hum kaise ghoda chala payenge? Aur Humare haat ka bura haal hua aap ki waja se tho, aap hi ko hume lejaana hoga.."

For a moment she remembered how he rode back with her when she tried to commit suicide. It was nice, well it didn't feel good then but being close to him, riding the horse through the country was definitely- JODHA! She stopped herself from thinking further.

"Jodha begum jaldi kijiye.."

She sighed and handed over her horse to the priest asking him to take care of it and grabbed her bag (that containing some needy stuff). She then gave him the best glare she could, but he was revelling in joy as things were going according to him.

He offered her his left hand which she took as she ascended the horse.

*their BG music playing all the time*😛

The ride began and Jalal inched himself closer to her, keeping her on edge. Oh he enjoyed tormenting her this way! This was best, better than showering spiteful words at her. He slowly moved his left arm and wrapped it around her shoulders from behind, resting his head partially in the crook of her neck. She shivered again.

"Y- Yeh kya kar rahe hai aap? Aap humare ithne sameep mein kyu-"

He cut her off swiftly.

"Jodha begum, hum kahi baar zakhmi hue the. Aap bohot tez ghoda chala rahi hai, aur humara haat ab bhi nazuk hai. Agar aap ne hume giraa diya tho patha nahi humara kya hoga.. humare sultanate ka kya hoga jiske abhi waris ka aana baaki hai."

"Aap.. Aap hum se duur hi rahiye shehensha, hum tez nahi chalayenge.."

She slowed down a bit and he released his grip on her smirking a little. He was not someone who would make his wife feel uncomfortable for a long time.

Sharif, AK's chamber in Amer Palace..

Sharif's khabri reached with a bad news.

"Maaf kijiye huzur, humare aadmi ke waha pohochne se pehle hi woh nikal chuke hai.."

"Kya?" Sharif was angry.

Adham laughed.

"Haha.. koi kaam ke nahi hai tumhare aadmi, mere aadmi ne zarur uss ka khatma kiya hoga.."

Adham's khabri reached and said they too missed the target. It was Sharif's turn to laugh.

"Kuch bhi ho yeh mauka haat se nahi jaana chahiye.." Adham roared silencing him.

"Huzur humare aadmi chup ke se unka peecha kar rahe hai. Jaise hi woh kisi sunsaan jagah mein pohonchege, apne kaam ko anjaam denge.." Khabris assured.

Sharif and Adham laughed maniacally.

Meanwhile Maham Anga was furious in her chamber.

KAise.. Kaise bewakuf ki tarah Jalal akele jaa sakthe hai! Na jaane kya jaadu kar diya uss Jodha begum ne.. ki unka yeh haal hua hai! Kuch tho karna hoga magar kya..

On the otherside.. AkDha were enjoying the horse ride oblivious to what's happening around them. The smell of freshly grown grass, the scent of his perfume emanating from behind, the warmth radiating from him as he leaned on to her back occasionally.. this ride was really different. It made her feel secured that she was not alone. He was there by her side, surprisingly he was the same man who ill-treated her few months ago! She rode on shaking off those thoughts with Jalal behind her on the same horse. (imagine AkDha horse ride scene, just roles are reversed here)

*BG Ishq hai woh ehsaas*

"Mashallah Kya khushnuma mausam hai Jodha begum.. thandi thandi hawayein, yeh suhaani waadiyan, aur saat mein aap. Humari subah kabhi ithni haseen nahi thi Jodha begum.."

She smiled involuntarily at the comment. He smiled too, because no matter that he was with her because of his promise to his Mother-in-law, he was enjoying this ride with her. Her caring attitude towards him in previous weeks had definitely washed off most of hatred he had for her. If she could go to extremes to help him out, he could return the favour too!

The adventure had just begun.
