Such a heart wrenching poem Divya, loved it and felt sad at the same time. But its still true of our society, and the last few lines, about giving birth to girl child, feel like slapping those idiots, wonder why we dont give respect to the creator of life

Sony so true dear...society is so biased ...when ll we get freedom to live life the way we want...thanks dear...

You have very sensitively projected the plight of girls/ women in many parts of India even today. And brought out the hypocrisy of the society. 😡
One wrong step and forever a girl is maligned, she has lost all privileges! 😡 And the constant repetition of 'khanaphosi jaari thi' clearly shows that her mistake has never been forgotten or she was never allowed to forget. That one phrase clearly depicts the dual standards of the society! 😲This attitude begs the question - Is 'Everyone' empathizing OR waiting for history to repeat itself! In the end, another girl child, wondering and fearing if this child will repeat the same mistake! 😔
