I was happy like everyone else in the forum to see Jodha stand up for Jalal. But, I did not find the transition from chudail to apsara very smooth. I have mentioned in many of my posts that we fell in love with the character Jalal because we saw consistent changes that one would expect in any human being over time. He understood what Jodha and his parivar is made of and completely changed his opinion about them. Jodha on the other hand has been spitting fire most of the times and all of a sudden blew cold air and I was just left stumped. I did NOT expect her to behave the way she did. I agree that she defended Jalal in Agra (ambe maa temple) and did not let him die in the Jungle. The first one was to some extent a duty of the queen. The second instance was due to her getting him in trouble and as a human she could not let him die. In both the situations Amer or her parivar was NOT involved. We saw some of her dealings with Jalal when her brothers got involved in MC track. Not once did she admit that the prince who got killed was not suitable for Sukanya. Then, she doubted him in Agra about the Sukanya marriage arrangement made by Jalal. Then, in Amer she wanted Jalal to leave as it could have caused problems in Sukanya's wedding. Also if he got killed in Amer it would defame her family. The cruelty in which she said all this a day back made it really hard to buy that she defended him today. That too against her own family and Amer's pride. She has been telling Jalal repeatedly that all she cares about is Amer. I don't think its all lie to defend or hide her feelings for him. She does give Amer and her family lot more importance, atleast that's the way CVs showed us till yesterday. That's why when she fought against her family and stood up for Jalal I found it hard to digest. I am just NOT happy with CVs transition of chudail to apsara phase for Jodha. It was just not very convincing for me.
Jalal on the other hand was consistent as always. He rejected the Fort gift as that was never promised by him. Right now he has no reasons to believe that Sarifuddin would lie to him. Somehow CVs have built this character so well, that we know what to expect at a high level but then at the same time he can surprise us with his 'swars' and 'gehri sanse'. I did feel pity for Jalal today. He is surrounded by murderous, vicious, sadistic, wicked, evil, diabolical people. Sharifudin who was honoured by him as BIL is ready to kill him at a drop of hat. Till he cannot kill Jalal, he is eyeing Jodha and creating problems between them. He has Adham whose favorite game is to kill Jalal. MA who is all sweet to Jalal but has an ulterior motive to get herself and Adham superior posts. Then, there is Ruqu who only cares about his position and power. Hamida, the only one that truly cares about him is the one that he cannot connect with. How right was Jodha in identifying the terrible plight of Jalal. The people he trusts the most and are closest to him are ready to pounce at him anytime. I wonder how Jodha is going to feel once she sees the true face of Jalal's trustworthy team. This time may be she will genuinely feel pity and concern for Jalal. I do hope that she does not get mad at Jalal for not taking her word against his BIL/Adham. Instead she tries to understand where he is coming from and creates ways to build trust with Jalal. I do NOT want to see a rewind play of where she got mad at Jalal for not trusting her against MA during MC track. This called off wedding can be used so well for Jodha to develop feelings for Jalal who is surrounded by vultures.
One of the reasons I believe Jalal is forgiving of Jodha's rude behavior is because he appreciates her courage in being brutally honest. He does warn her when she crosses all lines like he said its his insult if she pities him. Her honesty about Kaali maa temple, about his enemies, about no one loving him, about BIL/Adham and in future MA will only make him realize 'kaun apna kaun paraya'. Its this brutal honesty that gives him so many tidbits to bring about changes that will improve him and his empire. He is a person who is hungry to learn, become wiser, grow as an individual and as a king. Unfortunately, Jodha's chudail ways do seem to show him some direction towards path of improvement. I am NOT giving any credit to Jodha for this, its Jalal who takes the brutal verbal attack and converts it into something useful and practical. When it comes out of Jodha's mouth, its just righteous mean speech with no info about how to implement it in real life.
Precap: Hamida the only angel in Agra is the one who is going to give some philosophical advice to Jalal about the breaking of marriage. I think she will give him some insight on what it means for a rajvanshi girl's wedding to be called off and also about how they never lie. At the same time Jodha the bond will come face to face with the wafadari ke putle! I hope she has learnt from her past that going straight to Jalal will not help. Hope she has some better plan.
