Well, Mansi, we have both landed on our backsides with a loud thud, that must have been heard all the way from Agra to Amer.
I do not remember when I last felt so dispirited about Jodha Akbar. It is a major letdown, that scene between them, and then from there, we are suddenly pitchforked into a
mehndi ki rasam, and Jalal secretly watching Jodha's
nritya, which consists only of her shaking her none too slender midriff and her fairly substantial derriere.
It was trivialising things with a vengeance. I am sure Vicki will still be able to moon and gush over Jodha's blank face as Jalal thanks her for not having negated his conviction that she is one of those enemies of his who hate him upfront, but I cannot find it in me to say anything about it.
I presume that you too will parse each frame into its component parts to pan for gold among all this dross, but I do not think you will succeed. As for now, it is all fool's gold, and what dismays me the most is not a Jodha who does not seem to have a thought to spare for the dangers to the man she has married, except to categorise him as an untouchable whose very presence would endanger the welfare and the good name of her beloved parivaar and her even more beloved Amer. I expect nothing from her any more.
What dismays me is a Jalal who has been reduced to a peeping Tom, watching a woman who says openly that she is not worried about him, after having seen him close to death just a little earlier. I do not know precisely what this says about him, but whatever it is , I do not like it.
I would hate this kind of Jalal far more than this kind of Jodha. If this is to go on, I might as well pack up and leave, for I came on board for an emperor, and for Jalal to be one, it is not enough to repeat that he is one thrice or more in an episode. He has to act like one, to be imperious and dominating and proud, not run after a woman who despises him, like a poodle or a lap dog.

Shyamala, it is only in the rightness of things I suppose, that as Jodha and Jalal get closer, you and I will find our ideas so merging that we cannot tell each other apart! Hehehe ...😆😆😆😆
I am sorry I did not get that laurel wreath, but then how was I to know that Zee would pull a total non-starter of a promo? Now I know better than to predict on the basis of promos! My mouth is zipped!😕
Yes, the precap looks to me also like a huge turning point, because if it was just about "love" in this relationship, then I would have cause to worry about its foundations being solid. But if they find a lot of other common ground to discuss between them, and to be interdependent about, like in the precap, then the bonding will be on more levels than just the heart or physical attraction. It will also be good to watch a multi-dimensional relationship blossom.

Lovely stuff, Mansi, and very well written throughout. Especially the part about the girl sashaying down a grand staircase, and while I am no romantic, far from one, I think Jalal was not being in the least sarcastic in saying what he did.
I was as pleased as you are about the promo having turned out to be an out and out fraud, except that I am sorry you will not be getting that laurel wreath after all.😉
As for the precap, my post of today is almost wholly about what I hope will be a turning point for Jalal and Jodha, as you will see if you read it. I was pleased to see that we are on the same page about his asking Jodha for advice, as against the many who think it was only an exasperated outburst in response to her worries.

PS: Yes, the title is delightfully apt. Quite serendipitous, in fact!
