Poor Jalal as an emperor of a huge sub continent he cannot even trust his own shadow?
But that is the truth about people in very high positions like President, King etc
When you are on top you are always alone. Because many humans want your place and they can do anything to get it. More so in 15th century where they were so many kingdoms and so many internal conflicts in mughals.
Jodha is saying Jalal "I pity you" because you cannot trust your own people family. But what about her own family. Bharamal betrayed Sujamal of his rightful throne right. How can she speak as if her family is some saintly family. Hasn't her father made Bhagwan das the crown prince instead of sujamal his elder brothers son the rightful heir. Isn't her scared of sujamal asking his rights and hence willingly married of jodha to jalal so that he has a powerful son-in-law to fend off the attack.
And Mughals were highly complex. They had people from entire subcontinent working for them be it Persians, Afghans, Rajpuths, mongols i mean people from different ethnic background all trying to show they are superior to each other. How difficult it must be for a emperor like Akbar to handle all these varied people?
And Akbar's relatives and friends they are even more dangerous than other people in his kingdom and nobels. With so many people baying for his blood indeed he will feel lonely and not loved. Jodha should understand Jalal has had a tough childhood so he is agressive and tries to destroy threat before it comes on him. Hence he is suspicious and aggressive of own people.
Akbar has never really got love not from his mom-dad, foster parents and foster brothers, not from his wives and cousins none. But instead of understanding all these complex matters she always goes and speaks as if her family is saintly and he and his family are devilish.
No wonder jalal was hurt and blasted her and sent her off packing calling her also his enemy. He spoke more rudely with atagha khan but he realized that jalal is saying with upset and did not speak anything. Now if jalal loved hawai like family we can understand why? Atleast hawai does not back answer, humiliate him and it understands him and loves him unconditionally. No wonder Jalal wanted to feed it tablet and comfort it.
