Actually, within this topic, but a variation on the above question...

After Pandu's death, Satyavati retired to the forests w/ Ambika & Ambalika. Now, Ambika's son was Dhritarashtra, and her husband, again, was dead. So in this case, wouldn't it have made more sense for Ambika to stay on w/ him, even if Satyavati & Ambalika left for the forests?

He did not become king of Indraprastha - that remained in Pandava hands. Although it's not mentioned, chances are that when Vidura abdicated his mahamantri post and accompanied Dhritarashtra, Gandhari & Kunti to the forests, Yuyutsu probably succeeded Vidura. When Yudhisthir finally abdicated, he left Parikshit in Subhadra's care while crowning him the king, and made Yuyutsu in charge of Hastinapur.

Her sole support in her martial home, after Pandu's death was- Vidura.
There was nothing wrong in her staying on in Hastinapur- whilst her sons were trudging it out in vanvas. After all , it was her late husband's kingdom. She did not stay in the royal palace, she stayed with Vidura.

I disagree. Her DIL had been dragged by her hair to court, and then attempted to be stripped. So Kunti should either have gone to Kuntibhoj's kingdom, or if she felt uncomfortable there, she could have gone w/ Subhadra to Dwarka, where her brother Vasudev was staying as well. It was inappropriate of her to stay in Hastinapur.

Her other option would have been vanvas - if she could do it at the ripe old age 15 years after the war, she could easily have done it then. Vidura did her & the Pandavas no favors by sheltering her. Kunti lacked self respect by accepting his offer to stay in Hastinapur.

Since when did Kunti become sensitive to Draupadi's honour / feelings ?

If not Draupadi, her sons too were insulted in the court - being branded as slaves, taunted by DDKS and so on. Or did she have split loyalties b/w Pandu's sons & Karna?

Her bahus - Subhadra, Karenamati, etc did the right thing & returned to their maaykas, and only returned to Hastinapur w/ the victorious Pandavas. She should have done the same.
