Tellywood gears up for the Holi Blast !

Holi is the festival of colours. Time to invite friends over for some thandai, bhang and of course to let your hair down and shed inhibitions.

We spoke to a few tellystars about their Holi plans this year, childhood memories and of course about all the on-screen holi sequences in their respective tv shows.

Naman Shaw :

I love Holi. Last year I couldn't play as I was shooting most of the time. But this year, I have applied for leave and I will definitely be playing with colours. As a child, I used to play holi in Calcutta wherein we used to compete with people from different buildings. One holi I remember when I happen to consume some bhang but it turned out to be fake; as I didn't get a kick.

Samiksha :

Unfortunately I will be shooting on Sunday for Zaara. For the first time, I regret the fact I am shooting round the clock. All the soaps have a holi sequence but since I am doing a Muslim social (Zaara) there is no scope for any holi sequence. Two years back, I had gone on a pool party. I drank bhang and felt I am not high yet publicly went on dancing for many hours without realizing I am high.

Renuka Shahane:

I never use to play Holi in the past. But lately, I have started playing with colours thanks to my two children and Ranaji (Ashutosh Rana). But playing Holi on the sets of Jeete hai Jiske Liye has been a very good experience. We never felt like we were shooting for the episode. Also my co-stars are very fun-loving and don't let go by any opportunity to enjoy on occasions like these.

Rituraj
:

I love Holi. This time while celebrating Holi on the sets of Jeete Hai.. I realized one more thing about Holi that one doesn't need to get drunk to enjoy Holi. The colours itself are intoxicating.

Anoop Soni :

The last time, I played Holi in a big way was with Ashutosh Rana some years ago. I had so much of bhaang and did so many crazy things thereafter that I decide not to indulge in bhaang ever in life.

Manini De Mishra
:

Being a delhite, Holi has always been a family affair. But since I have moved to Mumbai, Holi has only reduced to a Page 3 party with people wishing and kissing each other. I have fond memories of raw Holi that we used to play as kids. But, I don't like the touchy-feely Holi. I like putting vermillion on friends and having sweets on holi. Also, my hubby Mihir doesn't enjoy Holi that much.

Rajesh Kumar :

For many years now I have stopped playing Holi simply because I end up playing on the sets of my shows. Currently on the sets of Kulvaddhu, I have been shooting for the Holi sequence. I feel on Holi the colours should be replaced by cowdung and mud.
My most memorable Holi was in college when I drank Bhang. I went off to sleep and got up only the next day.

Jennifer Winget :

I don't play Holi as such. Last year, I played Holi on the sets of Kassauti Zindagi kay. This year too there's a holi sequence and I might even go for a Holi Party. Most memorable holi was when I used to throw balloons on people as a kid.

Rahil Azam :

I feel Holi is the best way to get your hair coloured in the most inexpensive way. I have already got my hair coloured recently (laughs) so I don't need to play Holi. Above that on the sets of Betiyaan Ya Paraya Dhan, I have already played Holi as a part of shooting sequence. If only my friends turn up up Holi I will play Holi. Every time I play Holi it becomes memorable.

Sampada Vaze
:

Post wedding this is my first holi. I am going for a private party at an imported Yacht, which a friend has hired, from an Australian couple who comes from Australia every year. Most memorable holi was few years back when I drank Bhang for the first time and felt hungry to the extent that I had Pizza, Biryani and Burger in one go. Then I slept for twenty hours at a stretch. Holi is one festival, which is for everyone.
