Part 1

Not so good looking decent Boy obsessively openly in love with a smart pretty arrogant girl for >5yrs, girl asks for a trial relationship but in secret, boy agrees- girl decides to suddenly break up- boy agrees, girl decides to suddenly get back, boy agrees again but...all in secret. One fine day girl denounces boy in public making him the laughing stock of his own friends.

Looks like a script for gumrah or emotional atyachaar at the face of it- what saves this from the fate of either of it is SWAYAM DIGNITY - in love, in rejection, in denial or in pain . what saves such a drag story from becoming its real life sequel of gumraah is SWAYAMs DECENCY.

His talk of few min with a shocked rey (who for once is forced to shut up) makes u realise how quicker than rey he could recover from the unpleasant surprise which was actually not a surprise for him. his decency- he has im sure enuf to prove what Sharon said was false - rey s words would be enough but he doesn't consider any of it. he only asks rey to keep things normal. And he doesn't cry- not like before- now the wound is too deep for tears.

part 2

This line - u don't love me Sharon- is going to be one of my all time fav. With what dignity in face of rejection he asks Sharon to stop and not continue professing something which she does not have the guts to stand upto in front of the world. His heartbreak shows but his heart has broken enuf times before- this time its his strength that stands out---strength to call a spade a spade- to accept and tell Sharon also to accept that she doesn't love him, atleast not enough to put him above her image.

He knows she needs him, his love and his attention and he has never denied any of that becoz it gives him happiness to be the source of her happiness but at the face of refusal and such an unkind and nasty refusal , he wakes up. He doesn't have an ego, he has never had problems playing second fiddle to anyone but he does have self respect .

All this however is for us - outsiders- for swayam it only means what he told her- its in ur nature to reject me , u r worried about ur image more than me- and so im done with you. Hes hurt, not bitter. He doesn't hate her , is not angry with her but he doesn't want to have anything more to do with her.

The way he holds her hands and stops her from trying to convince him is in itself telling of how much control he has over his own mind and over her as well - a control which he has never exerted and never had a will to show off. The whole sequence doesn't make you pity swayam though he s the one rejected and laughed at, its Sharon whom u want to pity.

its a swayam that papa shekawat would be proud of.

Sigh- i hate breakups even if i don't like a couple - but swayam yesterday made a huge impact- can imagine why palki keeps saying she likes SS best ...

thanks of course to shantannu and vrushika esp shantannu. he was ...unbelievably convincing in showing swayams hurt / pain and wonderful in keeping the strength of swayam intact .

Thank u for expressing that so cleanly in words 👏...esp the part 2...u spoke my heart there...well said about a character and actor that just makes one respond with either a speechlessness in reaction or makes u run to check the dictionary for the next possible as of yet unused word which could describe the awesomeness that he personifies...

The wound is too deep for tears :(

This line made me cry! Wonderfully expressed.
It's only Swayam who can handle such situations with so much caution and maturity.

Geez the initial part of your post... as I read it I felt even more horrible for Swayam. 😔 You've put into words everything that I felt Swayam go through- Swayam's disposition and the changes occurring in him.

Amazing post. This is such a bang on and well written analysis of swayam .

His heartbreak shows but his heart has broken enuf times before- this time its his strength that stands out---strength to call a spade a spade.

The above line is so true, it's his strength which stood out this time. The way he was posed, calm and said things which needed to be said clearly. I'm a proud swayam fan.
And,yes, acting was class apart . Vrushika and shantanu emoted so well.
