Chapter 3-

The next morning I woke up, I felt refreshed. I don't know what changed or what will happen next but there was this contentment within me that made me happy and keep calm. I don't know if I get dreams or not but I guess I do... because the next morning when I wake up I realize that my mood will be somewhere connected to my dreams as some times it will be pleasant, some days unpleasant and some days totally bad! Worst actually... But well I guess today was a good day as I had a small smile playing on my lips when I woke up... surely I was having a good dream I suppose? May be about the man of my dreams... My prince charming... The thought itself made my day... it was always about my Mr. Perfect I think about whenever anything major happens in my life... it sort of gives me the feeling that he is somewhere around me and listening to me...!

Hey khushi...! Aren't you getting late for college? Get up you lazy bum! I heard my sister shout at me from somewhere I don't know... well what she said was true! It was nearly 7 and I should rush...with that thought in my mind I headed to shower...

The rest of the morning went as usual as I had expected it to be... my mom was very disappointed that I am always a late riser while payal ranted about how I am not giving much importance to studies and just hanging out with friends! And dad? Well he had left to office even before I had joined my family to breakfast! And then once again lavanya coming late and we both were rushing to get to college in time...!

Half a day was almost over with 2 classes taken and 1 class had been called-off but I never got a chance to meet the new guy! I had heard that the new guy had come to college today but was busy in the admission process and he couldn't make it to the first 2 classes... well now I was in search of him...! My professor had already asked me once that I and NK should brief him about the previous year... but that guy still hadn't shown up!

I wonder where this guy could be...! NK muttered.

Yeah... even I'm wondering the same... I hate such responsibilities to brief someone...! I said aloud while we all were sitting in the class waiting for the new guy! Uh... what was his name? Yeah ARNAV!

Hey NK can you please do me a favor? Why don't you brief him alone? There's actually no need for me... Please...? I asked battling my eye lashes to somehow convince him! I never liked to meet new people... well strangers to be precise and just to be cool and normal around them...! It was sooo not me! Sometimes I'm really very introvert...

Oh stop doing that khushi...! You are not getting away with this and neither am I! He said with finality...now THAT was NK! He hates to run away from responsibilities and makes sure that everyone around him does too...!

Ohk... I said meekly giving up... he sometimes surely gets dominating...! As me and la were late today to college; which is as usual, we had missed to meet arnav. Some of them in the class had met him but he had vanished soon enough when he had been called from the office to submit his transfer papers, thus even not having time to get a briefing from NK...I had heard the gossip girls from our class talking about him to be very handsome and sexy too...! Ugh! I soo hated to hear them speak of every other guy in college like that! But the way these girls were talking about him, I was sure of one thing! He could be surely a completion to karan and aman for the most talked about guy! I smiled sheepishly thinking about the jealous faces of them...!

Are you out of your mind?! I heard misha asking. I guess it was directed to me because she was looking at me.

Huh? What? I asked not interested and also not giving away anything as to what I was thinking.

You are smiling to yourself...!

So what? I should not even smile? I asked

Smile when NK is giving a lecture upon how to take our responsibilities seriously? She asked exasperated. I bit my tongue... I was soo caught up with my thoughts that I didn't hear anything NK was saying...

Ofcourse it's a reason to smile... actually no! To laugh! This time it was sheetal who said behalf of me... I wonder what she was implying to. Why would anyone laugh at such a serious topic? Seeing our confused faces I guess she understood and replied,

The person who can never be serious for himself is giving a lecture about the seriousness of taking up responsibilities...! Isn't it something to laugh about?

Well not really... said la and soon changed the topic. Although everything was going great in our gang, there was something that had changed the equation between NK and sheetal. Since the stupid remark made by NK yesterday; there was a like a cold war going on between him and sheetal. La and aman would try as much as they can to stop them fight. Karan just chose to be a silent spectator of all these just like me and misha... And right now sheetal making NK look like clown, very well did not settle down with him I suppose as he suddenly became unusually quiet...sheetal can get real bitchy sometimes! Just wanting to distract these talks I called nidhi.

Hey! Nidhi...

Yeah?! She came towards our bench where we all were sitting in a circle.

Did arnav come?!

Arnav? Oh! You mean by that new guy?

Yea...

Not yet... but I guess he should be here by anytime as by now the office would have closed! I checked my watch, it was showing 1.05 pm and the office usually closed by 12.30.

Hmm ok thanks. I said and then she went away...

Ok guys, I will see where the hell is that new guy is and will be back soon... I said getting up and moving towards the door. I needed sometime for myself! I don't know what happened suddenly that I felt very uneasy at the pit of my stomach.

Hey wait! It was la...I stopped and turned around and looked at la who was rushing behind me.

Are you going to the wash? Oh god! Why do people think that I would give such lame excuses to go to the wash?!

No dear... I am going in search of the new guy...we have to brief him soon! You know right?

Oh! I thought you were... leave it! I need to go to the wash! Come with me... then we both could go and search for Mr.Sexy...

Oh phuleez... don't tell me you didn't hear about the new guy and his oh-so-famous looks and body..! Oh how handsome he is and all...?

Hmm yeah I know...! But don't you think he will already be under the TAKEN category, after hearing so much about him...?!

Hmm yeah! You are right? But try karne mein kya harz hai yaar? ho sakta hai banda singe ho?! She asked winking at me.

Ya right...! But still we don't come under the category of BEING TAKEN right?!

Haan yaar...! I really wish that my prince charming comes soon...! La said dreamily.

Mujhe to wo already nazar aa raha hai! I said winking at her seeing in the direction of NK for which she smacked my arms...

Maine prince charming kaha tha koi aalo nahi...! La said with mock seriousness for which I just chuckled.

Hansle hansle... mera bhi time aayega... tab dekhungi tujhe... abhi koi aayega aur aise tujhe bowl kar dega na ki tu kabhi mujhe tease karne ki himmat hi nahi kar paayegi...

Accha? Delkthe hai... I said with a sly smile... I knew for sure that I'm never going to fall in LOVE... not anytime soon! I would wait for my prince charming... least I knew he was standing just behind me!

I was soo into my thoughts that I didn't notice that the whole class has gone silent! For a second I wondered if the lecturer or the director had come into the class and I didn't make any effort to turn around... but as I saw everyone looking at me OR may be behind me and seeing la's gaping face I decided to turn around. And before I could completely decide on what I should do, I felt a tap on my shoulder which made me turn in haste making me collide with a wall or may be someone and thank god the wall caught me before I hit the ground...oh no... not a wall actually, a pair of strong arms made me stand steady...

Uhh... khushi gupta?!

Haan...?! I answered dazed. I had never heard such a husky and manly voice ever before and god! Is he some freaking Greek god standing in front of me? Freak! Is he the new guy...? Arnav? Oh my god! Then the gossip girls surely were way too behind in describing this man as he was completely and TOTALLY drool-worthy! I for one, was never a person who would actually complement any guy for their physical appearance except ofcourse Shahid Kapoor...! He was my darling whom I was mentally dating since past so many years... but this guy in front of me was surely trying to give a competition to him...! Soon I once again heard him speak,

Uh... I need to meet khushi gupta... where is she?! He asked again. I guess my voice was stuck somewhere or I don't know what the hell was happening to me that I couldn't even acknowledge it was ME! I was totally a bundle of nerves... this was the first time I was so much nervous around a guy other than him! And that memory brought me back from my thoughts... no ways I'm going to think about him right now! And no way am I going to fall for any man having just good looks...! Looks can definitely betray! Seeing me not replying to him, the guy-most probably arnav turned towards la...

Excuse me... hi! He said to la and I guess lavanya had come out of the trance even before I could, as I heard her reply...

Ha...hai! La stammered? That was new...! I now turned towards them.

I am Arnav... the professor asked me to meet khushi gupta and Nandkishore for a briefing... where are they?

Hey! Hello... I am Nandkishore man! Nice to meet you... said NK cheerfully shaking hands with arnav. By that time the whole gang had joined us and the whole class was intently watching the interaction and pleasantries...

Nice to meet you too... he said with a small smile. I wondered why that guy didn't smile a bit brighter... somehow I didn't find it reaching his eyes... until then I never realized that I was smiling and only when I felt that my lips curling a larger at my sides, I came to know that I was giving this damn guy one of my rare smiles! even when he didn't look at me! Hey Devi mayya what's wrong with me? I wondered. That guy smiles a little and here I am smiling for him? I widened my eyes with the very dangerous thought of what it could be...!

And these are my friends... karan, aman, lavanya, sheetal, misha and that is khushi. And you can call me NK... he introduced every one of us to the man of every girls dream. He shook hands with all of us, as and when introduced. He narrowed his eyes at me may be thinking that i am too dumb that I didn't reply to him when he was asking for me? I could see arnav had lifted his hands for a shake with me but I was so lost in his face that I didn't move my hands... it was only when misha nudged me by my side I came out of my trance and soon gave a shake. I never felt soo nervous giving a handshake for a guy in my life except him...and this very thought was unsettling in me... I was never ever this clumsy before! What has changed now? I wondered... trying to gather all my strength I raised my chin with my oh-famous attitude and looked at him who seemed to be very amused by my behaviour as I could see laughter in his eyes...! How dare that guy I thought...!

Hmm so when can we have the briefing? He asked NK... he didn't spare a glance at ME?!

Hmm... its lunch time, we can have it now if you don't have any other work?

It's perfectly fine...we can have it now... by that time the whole class had gone back to normal mode though the main topic in class was ARNAV!

Hmm why don't we go somewhere else? Class will be too chaotic?

I don't mind...he said.

Let's go to the library then... it will be helpful too... NK said.

I could see all of them wanted to go to stone arc but well, library was surely the best place. I don't know why... but I just wanted to keep this guy out of the sight from every girl!

Khush... no problem right?

No... no problem at all... I replied casually. Only I knew how much I controlled myself from shouting out yes yes yes...!

But khush... what about the lunch? Asked sheetal. Oh for heaven sake girl you have a boyfriend now! I wanted to tell her...I knew how much concern was there in that question... she wanted arnav to accompany us and may be drool over him sometime?

It's alright sheetal... I suppose khush and NK can join us later? Karan said. Surely he seemed to be a little pissed off right now... why wouldn't he? Like me he also exactly knows what sheetal wanted to convey!

Ok then... shall we carry on? It was arnav this time who asked looking at me directly...

Finally arshi met like she said hope things Will b good hereafter. Sheetal ho god already she has created a unseen mess I hope so. And khushi completely made fool of her before Arnav. Hmm library I wish NK is called for some work. Excited for the next update. Thks for the pm dear.
