Survival of the fittest: Sunil Shetty
What could have prompted Sunil Shetty to take a plunge with the Indian version of popular American television show, The Biggest Loser? Surely, not the money (if you want us to believe that, Sunil). The macho actor reveals that an urge to be the fittest, turn a chef tossing up healthy meals and don the role of a nutritionist were the big draws. It's a lesser-known fact that the actor pursued catering as a student. He aspired to be an hotelier before technicolour dreams happened to him. Talking about his host-with-the-least-flab avatar, he says, "I'm dying to be on the show. Over a period of four months I hope to turn a fitness guru and a nutritionist. Who knows I might turn a chef by the end of it? The best part is that even I get to work on my body along with the participants on the show."

The actor further adds that the widespread ignorance about fitness and healthy food also prompted him to be a part of the show. "I have been an absolute teetotaller all my life. Let's admit it that all of us are not aware of the need to have a balanced diet. The show will address all such issues and take a completely new look at life."

Shot in Amby Valley, the show will have 18 plump participants knocking the flab over a period of four months. Needless to say a strong team of medical advisers and fitness expert will see the contenders through. Lately, the makers have been considering the not-so-healthy celebrity musicians like Adnaan Sami and Bappi Lahiri as contenders. However, host Shetty says, "They were in talks with Adnan Sami. The show will also have a lot of common men and by the end of the show the biggest loser will be a celebrity altogether."

At the film front, the actor is awaiting the release of Shootout At Lokhandwala, Cash and Dus Kahaniyan. His future projects include Sanjay Gupta's untitled film and International Hera Pheri. "My television assignment is very important for me. Even if I get to do only two films a year I'm fine with it," he adds.
