As for the best singer award, I was surprised to see that Naresh was not even nominated for Rubaroo, because I personally thought that he was the winner all the way last year... 'Chand Sifarish' was strictly a very mediocre song!

I also just saw that Prasoon Joshi got the award for best lyrics for the same song, while he should have again got it for Rubaroo...

I kinda agree with you, Jayaji. 'Chand Sifarish' is a nice song but I don't think this is the best one in 2006. I was really shocked that Sonu Nigam's "Bawri Piya" didn't even get nominated. According to me, Sonu Nigam should have won the best singer award for "Bawri Piya".

Frankly, I had not heard this song 'Bawri Piya ki' earlier.. After you mentioned, I searched for it... and u are right... What a fabulous song it is.👏.. How come Sonu miss out on this one.😕.. In fact, even when Babul got releasesed 'har lamha har manzar' got all the attention.. while the one you mentioned is just wonderful 😳

Thank you Jayaji for trying the song after I mentioned about it😊. I usually listen to that song 3-4 times at a time; I like it that much. In fact, you may not know, Sonu Nigam didn't take any compensation for singing this song. I was very upset when I saw that it was not among the nominations. I guess awards are not always the measurement of the best in the category. In other words, the most deserving one doesn't always get awards😕.
