Does media influence society or society influence media?

I think that media influence society. media have the power to make innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that's the power. The commercials u see on t.v that have most influence over ur choices and decisions. It is often bias in how it potrays info or certain people

what do u guys think? plz share ur opinion would luv to know ur views on this😳

I think that the media and society tend to influence each other both, but since society has been around first, I think that it influences the media more strongly than vice versa. The media, even if it seems contrary to this statement, has to answer to society, whether indirectly or directly. They cannot just show anything and everything. Some things are taboo and some are not, and not matter how crazy the media can get sometimes, they have to respect that, even if it seems like they dont.

good question; very thought provoking! 👍🏼

Nice Topic.. 👏

Well i think they both are undoubtdly linked with each otehr and both affect each other in many ways but i feel that the media effects the society more. See if we see onscreen that they have boyfriends or love or anything, we are totally indulged in it and it automatically, even if we dont want it to, it leaves a mark on our brain! How does a child develop.. Nowdays half of the children develop or become more matured through the media which contains a lot of exposure nowdays.

Society influences media in their decision as to what type of stories should be catered to the public and the manner in which they should be dished out. This depends on the observation of what the majority of the public in a society likes or dislikes, gets shocked with or what piques their curiosity/ interest.

Media influences the society to think in a way the media wants them to think, to see the view from the side that the media is presenting, swaying their judgement in some particular direction, to react in a way the media wants them to react.
